Two small children have been orphaned while on vacation in Cabo da Roca, Portugal, after witnessing their parents’ accidental deaths. The family from Poland was visiting scenic Cabo da Roca on Saturday night.

The parents crossed a barrier to take a selfie together near the 140-meter-high edge.

But while their children looked on, they took one step too far back and went over the cliff.

A Spanish couple witnessed the accident and called emergency services. Bad weather prevented rescuers from recovering the couple’s bodies on Saturday. The couple’s bodies were eventually recovered on Sunday. Their children, aged 5 and 6, are in the care of Polish diplomats and receiving counseling.

Forty-eight people were killed when a small passenger plane crashed in the west of the Iranian capital Tehran, according to Iranian state TV.
The aircraft, which was heading to the eastern city of Tabas, went down in a residential area near Mehrabad airport on Sunday morning, state media said.
Passengers included five children, Iran\'s aviation authority said.
Iran has suffered a series of plane crashes, blamed on its ageing aircraft and poor maintenance record.
Iran is still flying planes bought before the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
International trade sanctions were imposed after the hostage crisis which followed, during which 52 Americans were held hostage in Tehran for 444 days.
Many Iranian planes are fitted with unofficial spare parts.
There have been more than 200 accidents involving Iranian planes in the past 25 years, leading to more than 2,000 deaths.
Initial reports indicate the latest incident involved an Iran-140 jet carrying 48 people, including 40 passengers and eight crew.
The plane was said to have crashed at 9:18 local time (4:48 GMT), shortly after takeoff.

Ukraine Says Will Deny Access to Russian Aid
  • Order:

  • Updated: 12 Aug 2014
Ukrainian officials have set conditions for receiving Russian aid in the east, after a huge convoy of food and medicine set off from outside Moscow. Security council spokesman Andriy Lysenko said aid should pass through a government-controlled border post and be accompanied by Red Cross officials. There are Western concerns that Russia is using humanitarian assistance as a pretext to invade eastern Ukraine. At least 1,500 have died since Ukraine sent troops against pro-Russia rebels. The fighting in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions since mid-April has displaced hundreds of thousands of people, many of whom have fled to Russia. Almost 300 lorries of humanitarian aid left the Moscow area bound for Luhansk on Tuesday morning. Russian TV showed the cargo, said to include hundreds of tonnes of grain, baby food and medicine, which will go to civilians trapped by fighting in the area held by pro-Russia rebels. Media reports said the cargo left from a point south-west of Moscow. It is expected to arrive at the Ukrainian border in the next two days. "The convoy will deliver to the residents of eastern Ukraine about 2,000 tonnes of humanitarian cargo, collected by the residents of Moscow city and region," Moscow region officials said. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-28751447 http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/ukraine-rocket-attack-leads-mass-jail-breakout-24926814

------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. Police Fatally Shoot Unarmed Black Teenager Michael Brown! Police In Missouri Reportedly Shot And Killed An Unarmed Teenager Saturday Witnesses said the black Ferguson, Mo., teen was unarmed and had his hands up. The NAACP slammed the shooting, saying the boy was “slaughtered by law enforcement.” Police in Ferguson, Mo., shot and killed a 18-year-old boy Saturday. The teenager was identified by St. Lous media and several hashtags as Mike Brown. The shooting happened just after noon on a neighborhood street about 12 miles from downtown St. Louis. Tensions are high in Ferguson, Missouri and a large police presence is on hand after a teenager was shot to death by a police officer. Accounts of college-bound Missouri teen's fatal shooting conflict Police: Struggle over gun led to teen's shooting Police Fatally Shoot Unarmed Black Teenager; Outraged Town Protests Michael Brown, black teen shot in Missouri, was unarmed, police say Ferguson, Missouri Community Furious After Teen Shot Dead By Police Teen shot dead by police in suburban St. Louis; residents protest No justice, no peace': Hundreds gather to protest death of 18-year-old UNARMED black teen who was shot dead by a cop as police chief says victim was killed after getting into fight with an officer 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot dead in the street by police officers near St Louis Saturday afternoon He was on his way to visit his grandmother He was executed in broad daylight': Family and witnesses claim 'white officer shot St Louis student while his hands were raised, then stood over his body and fired'. FBI announce investigation Attorney for family of Michael Brown, 18, claims he was executed According to witnesses the student was shot while his hands were raised Initial reports claim Brown was hit by eight bullets and was shot in the face Police claim that Brown and police became involved in a scuffle Family claim that Brown was walking to his grandmother's house The shooting sparked rioting across St. Louis on Sunday night The FBI have announced they will begin their own investigation The police officer is believed to be white and on paid administrative leave A black teen whose shooting death sparked riots in his St Louis community yesterday was killed after getting into a fight with a cop, police say. St Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar held a press conference Sunday morning about the incident, and while the victim has not yet been officially named, family identified him as 18-year-old Michael Brown. Belmar said the victim was shot dead after he and another man got into an altercation with a police officer. A shot was fired inside the police car, and Brown was eventually shot about 35 feet away from the vehicle, Belmar said, adding few details because he didn't want to "prejudice" the case. All shell casings collected at the scene were from the officer's weapon, Belmar said. He further said the medical examiner would issue a ruling on how many times Brown was shot, but "it was more than just a couple." The account was in stark contrast to those of witnesses who said Brown did nothing to instigate the shooting and appeared to be surrendering when he was killed. "My son just turned 18 and graduated high school and he didn't bother nobody," the young man's mother, Lesley McSpadden, told CNN affiliate KSDK. FERGUSON, Mo. — At a news conference Sunday, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said the fatal shooting of a black teenager came after an altercation that involved two people and a police officer. On Saturday, 18-year-old Michael Brown was killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Mo., a suburb of St. Louis. The shooting occurred around noon Saturday at the Canfield Green Apartment complex. Belmar said the incident started when Brown physically assaulted the police officer, pushing him into the officer's vehicle. He said there was a struggle inside the car, and at some point Brown reached for the officer's weapon. One shot was fired inside the vehicle. A city in the St. Louis metropolitan area has become incredibly tense after local police reportedly shot and killed an unarmed teenager on Saturday afternoon. 18-year-old Michael Brown was fatally shot by Ferguson police officers during an encounter near the Canfield Green Apartments. According to KMOV, witnesses say Brown was unarmed and had his hands in the air when he was shot multiple times by an officer. Tags: Police Fatally Shoot Unarmed Black Teenager Michael Brown! The main opposition candidate in Turkey's first presidential election congratulated Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday after results broadcast by Turkish media showed Erdogan had won. In a brief statement to reporters in Istanbul, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said "I congratulate Mr. Prime Minister and wish him success." Turkey has emerged as a regional economic force under Erdogan, who, as prime minister for more than a decade, has ridden a wave of religiously conservative support to transform the secular republic founded by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in 1923. Erdogan's win ensures he will remain at the country's helm for at least another five years. http://feeds.nbcnews.com/c/35002/f/663303/s/3d5e440e/sc/7/l/0L0Snbcnews0N0Cnews0Cworld0Cturkish0Eopposition0Ecandidate0Econgratulates0Eerdogan0Eelection0Eresult0En177246/story01.htm http://www.wochit.com

Islamic State militants have killed at least 500 members of Iraq's Yazidi ethnic minority during their offensive in the north, Iraq's human rights minister told Reuters on Sunday. Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said the Sunni militants had also buried alive some of their victims, including women and children. Some 300 women were kidnapped as slaves, he added. "We have striking evidence obtained from Yazidis fleeing Sinjar and some who escaped death, and also crime scene images that show indisputably that the gangs of the Islamic States have executed at least 500 Yazidis after seizing Sinjar," Sudani told Reuters. Sinjar is the ancient home of the Yazidis, one of the towns captured by the Sunni militants who view the community as "devil worshipers". IRAN Plane Crash Near Tehran 'Kills 48' Near Mehrabad | BREAKING NEWS - 10 AUG 2014 For more Latest and Breaking News Headlines SUBSCRIBE to https://www.youtube.com/user/ZakWorldNEWS Forty-eight people were killed when a small passenger plane crashed in the west of the Iranian capital Tehran, according to Iranian state TV. The aircraft, which was heading to the eastern city of Tabas, went down in a residential area near Mehrabad airport on Sunday morning, state media said. Passengers included five children, Iran's aviation authority said.
