The A&E Network is a United States-based cable and satellite television network[clarification needed] with headquarters in New York City and offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, London, Los Angeles and Stamford. A&E also airs in Canada and Latin America. Initially named the Arts & Entertainment Network, A&E launched February 1, 1984, to 9.3 million homes in the U.S. and Canada. In May 1995, the channel's name officially changed to the A&E Network, to reflect its declining focus on Arts and Entertainment. The network is now better known for shows like Dog the Bounty Hunter, Intervention, Storage Wars, Criss Angel Mindfreak and Paranormal State.
The channel, which originally focused programming on biographies, documentaries, and drama series (especially crime dramas and mysteries), and has expanded to include reality television programming, reaches more than 85 million homes in the United States and Canada. A&E is a joint venture of the Hearst Corporation (42.5% ownership), The Walt Disney Company (42.5%), and NBCUniversal (15%). The network is a result of a merger in 1984 between Hearst/ABC's Alpha Repertory Television Service (ARTS) and (pre–General Electric merger) RCA-owned The Entertainment Channel.
E! Entertainment Television is an American basic cable and satellite television network, owned by NBCUniversal. It features entertainment-related programming, reality television, feature films and occasionally series and specials unrelated to the entertainment industry.
E! currently has an audience reach of 88 million cable and satellite viewers in the U.S. and 600 million homes internationally.
E! Entertainment Television was founded by Larry Namer and Alan Mruvka.
The network launched on July 31, 1987 as Movietime, a service that aired movie trailers, entertainment news, event and awards coverage, and interviews as an early example of a national barker channel. Early Movietime hosts included Greg Kinnear, Paula Abdul, Katie Wagner, Julie Moran, Suzanne Kay (daughter of Diahann Carroll), Mark DeCarlo, Sam Rubin and Richard Blade. Three years later, in June 1990, Movietime was renamed E! Entertainment Television to emphasize its widening coverage of the celebrity-industrial complex, contemporary film, television and music, daily Hollywood gossip, and fashion.
Nicola Peltz (born January 9, 1995) is an American actress. Her most notable role to date is Katara in the 2010 film The Last Airbender, directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
Peltz played Katara in the 2010 movie The Last Airbender. She plays Renee Kyte in the upcoming independent movie, Eye of the Hurricane. The movie wrapped filming in late August 2010 with a release date yet to be determined. Peltz also appeared in the 2006 film Deck the Halls, playing Mackenzie, and Harold, in 2008, where she was cast as Becki. She also had a minor role in Miley Cyrus' "7 Things" music video. On March 27, 2010, Peltz made an appearance at the Kids Choice Awards 2010 on Nickelodeon, and also appeared at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, along with The Last Airbender co-star Jackson Rathbone, presenting a trailer for the film.
Peltz was born in Westchester County, New York, the daughter of Claudia (née Heffner), a former model, and billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, who once owned the Snapple brand. She has four older brothers, two younger brothers, and a sister. Her father has been described by the New York Times as a "compassionate leader" of the New York Jewish community. When Peltz was younger, she attended Rye Country Day School[citation needed] in Rye, New York and from there went to Windward School[citation needed] in White Plains, New York. Her most recent school is the Professional Children's School in Manhattan, New York.[citation needed]
Phil Robertson is a studio drummer, having recorded albums for Warner Bros. Records, Polygram, Elektra Records, Atlantic Records, and Electronic Arts, among others.
Alfred Thomas "Freddie" Highmore (born 14 February 1992) is an English actor. He is best known for his roles in the films Finding Neverland, Five Children and It, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Arthur and the Invisibles, August Rush, The Golden Compass, The Spiderwick Chronicles, and Toast.
Highmore was born into a show business family. His mother, Sue Latimer, is a talent agent whose clients include actors Daniel Radcliffe and Imelda Staunton, and his father, Edward Highmore, is an actor. He has a younger brother named Albert ("Bertie"), born in 1995. Highmore's home is in Highgate, a suburb of north London.
Highmore began with small parts on TV at the age of 7. In two movies Highmore played with members of his family. His brother Bertie played his brother in Women Talking Dirty. Also his father Edward played the father in Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story.
In 2004, he had a breakthrough with his critically acclaimed performance as troubled Peter Llewelyn Davies in Finding Neverland. Highmore received several nominations and awards for the role, including a Broadcast Film Critics Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. In 2005, he played the part of the hard-working Charlie Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (adapted from the book by Roald Dahl). He was reportedly recommended for the role by the film's star Johnny Depp, who starred in Finding Neverland and was impressed by the young actor's performance.
