Joe 90 is a 1960s British science-fiction television series that follows the adventures of a nine-year-old boy, Joe McClaine, who starts a double life as a schoolchild-turned-superspy after his scientist father invents a device capable of duplicating expert knowledge and experience and transferring it to a different human brain. Equipped with the skills of the foremost academic and military minds, Joe is recruited by the World Intelligence Network (WIN) and, as its "Most Special Agent", pursues the objective of world peace and saving human life. Created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and filmed by Century 21 Productions, the 30-episode series followed Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons.
First broadcast in the UK between September 1968 and April 1969 on the ATV network, Joe 90 was the sixth and final of the Andersons' productions to be made exclusively using the form of marionette puppetry termed "Supermarionation". Their final puppet series, The Secret Service, used this process only in combination with extensive live-action filming. As in the case of its antecedent, Captain Scarlet, the puppets of Joe 90 are of natural proportions as opposed to the more caricatured design of the characters of Thunderbirds.
Barry Gray (born John Livesey Eccles; 18 July 1908 – 26 April 1984) was a British musician and composer best known for his collaborations with television and film producer Gerry Anderson.
Born into a musical family in Blackburn, Lancashire, Gray was encouraged to pursue a musical career from an early age. Starting at the age of five – with piano lessons – he studied diligently and became a student at the Manchester Royal College of Music and at Blackburn Cathedral. He studied composition under the Hungarian teacher Matyas Seiber. Gray's first professional job was for B. Feldman & Co. in London, where he gained experience in scoring for theatre and variety orchestras. From there, he joined Radio Normandy as a composer-arranger. After serving for six years with the Royal Air Force during World War II he returned to the music industry to work with such names as Vera Lynn and Hoagy Carmichael.
In 1956 Gray joined Gerry Anderson's AP Films and scored its first marionette puppet television series, The Adventures of Twizzle. This was followed by Torchy The Battery Boy and Four Feather Falls, a puppet Western based on a concept suggested by Gray. His association with Anderson lasted throughout the 1960s. Although best known for his score to Thunderbirds (in particular the "March of the Thunderbirds" title music), Gray's work also included the themes to all the other "Supermarionation" productions, including Fireball XL5, Stingray, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and Joe 90. Recording sessions were held at Olympic Studios, Pye Studios and CTS Studios in London, Anvil Studios in Denham, Buckinghamshire and Gray's own studios at his residence in Esher, Surrey.

Why have I made this video? In 1990 an album was released called "Power Themes '90". On it were "pop songs" for want of a better phrase, created as tributes to Thunderbirds, Stingray, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 and others. Three out of the four puppet shows represented on the album got an accompanying "pop video". Joe 90 was the only one that didn't -- so...I'm merely completing the set so to speak! I just hope I've done it justice! This video is not monetised and is merely an affectionately made tribute. Copyrights to the source material remain (obviously) with the owners of the show and the tune. Now the techy boring stuff for the real geeks: So how do you go about making a video like this anyway? Firstly you watch all 30 episodes of the show in order to make notes. Then...if you're ...

Truth, always deceiving
Never believing in yourself
Truth, not what you're giving
Not what is living inside of you
And doubt is a traitor to you
Truth is not a flower
The highest power but not for you
Truth isn't a savior, not your creator
So don't gimme your truth
And if you wanna be
What you always try to be
Don't go looking for
Something that you think you are
Everything you never thought
Is just about to happen to you
You can break through
And if you wanna be
What you always try to be
Don't go looking for
Something that you think you are
If you wanna be
What you always try to be
Don't go looking for
Something that you think you are
If you wanna be
What you always try to be
Don't go looking for
Something that you think you are
Everything you never thought
Is just about to happen to you
Truth, always deceiving
Never believing in yourself
Truth, not what you're giving
Not what is living inside of you
So don't gimme your truth
Don't gimme your truth
And if a loser dies trying
Tries at winning, wins at nothing
What does he find? He finds the truth
The truth, the truth
