They are surrounded by a lot of grizzled veterans, including Jeffrey Rensch as the Greek King Agamemnon, Ian Potter as the arrogant Achilles, Thomas Weaver as the crafty Ulysses, Kathryn Miller as Helen, Amber Mann as the scheming Pandarus and several others ... Troilus and Cressida ... Troilus is a Trojan Prince who pursues his love with the help of her uncle Pandarus ... Pandarus arranges for Troilus and Cressida to meet and they swear undying love for one another. Pandarus arranges for them to consummate their love but Cressida’s father Calchas has organised a deal with the Trojan’s to exchange a Trojan prisoner for his daughter so that he can be reunited with her ... Troilus eats with Hector ... ....

Eponyms are words that derive from a person's name. This idea was suggested by Rich Greenhill, a word wizard extraordinaire. He started with 'milquetoast' (a fictional cartoon-strip character) and 'quisling', the name of the army officer who ruled Norway for the Nazis. Alan Robertson mentioned Stigler's Law ... Pander Pandare, a character in Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde, aka Pandarus in Shakespeare's version ... ....

The sendup of characters — Greg Mehrten's trashy Southern Pandarus, Suzzy Roche's curiously levelheaded Cassandra, Ari Fliakos' Hector channeling a reticent Mark Wahlberg action hero — made me wish LeCompte would have been even more daring in her approach to the text ...
