He soon discovered a fascination for the theatre organ and became temporary organist at the Palace, Slough, following this with a resident position at the Plaza, Iver. Leaving Iver he became a deputy organist on the Gaumont British circuit as on of their team of featured organists. This period of cinema activity was followed by a tour of the variety theatres with his accordion band "The Wonder Five", and then Vic joined the famours Dorlay Revie as Hammond organist for a continental tour. Unfortunately, although successful, the tour was interrupted by the outbreak of war and Vic spent the next six years in an internment camp. On returning to England he joined the G.B circut as featured touring organist appearing at most of the leading cinemas in the circuit. With the cuts in organists, Vic went over to the orchestral side touring with the Billy Cotton Band Show, film accompaniment (Operation Amsterdam and Room at the Top) a tour of Australia with the Jimmy Edwards Show and organist at the Wembley Empire Pool. With the revival of interest in the theatre organ due to the various preservation schemes, Vic was soon a featured performer at concerts and commenced his recording career; Buckingham Town Hall; The Dendy theatre, Sydney; Australia; Capn's Galley; Redwood City; Dreamland, Margate; The Ritz Chatham; The High Wycombe Wurlitzer, and The Baldwin Electronic Organ. About the organ The organ used on this recording is the famous Wurlitzer of the Granada Theatre, Tooting, London, and is a four manual fourteen rank instrument famous for it's broadcasts and recordings.
