Geneva – The air transport industry currently supports 58.1 million jobs and $2.4 trillion in global gross domestic product, according to a new study released today by the Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) at its Global Sustainable Aviation Summit in Geneva, Switzerland. The report, Aviation: Benefits Beyond Borders looks at the economic and social benefits of the commercial aviation industry around the world and examines the sector’s environmental progress.
Geneva - The Air Transport Action Group’s (ATAG) new executive director, Michael Gill, has taken his position today leading the cross aviation industry coalition on sustainable growth of air transport. He replaces Paul Steele who held the role for six years.
Geneva – Aviation industry experts will gather in Geneva, Switzerland tomorrow for the Global Sustainable Aviation Summit. Around 250 delegates from 50 countries are representing the industry, governments and civil society at the talks which aim to provide a long-term view of the growth of air transport around the world. The Summit is coordinated by the cross-industry Air Transport Action Group (ATAG), which coordinates aviation sustainability policy.
