Willie Howard Mays, Jr. (born May 6, 1931) is a retired American professional baseball player who played the majority of his major league career with the New York and San Francisco Giants before finishing with the New York Mets. Nicknamed The Say Hey Kid, Mays was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1979, his first year of eligibility. Most baseball fans and historians agree that Mays was the greatest all-around baseball player to have played in the Major Leagues.
Mays won two MVP awards and tied Stan Musial's record with 24 appearances in the All-Star Game. Mays ended his career with 660 home runs, third at the time of his retirement, and currently fourth all-time. An outstanding center fielder, he won a record-tying twelve Gold Gloves starting the year the award was introduced six seasons into his career.
In 1999, Mays placed second on The Sporting News' List of the 100 Greatest Baseball Players, making him the highest-ranking living player. Later that year, he was also elected to the Major League Baseball All-Century Team. Mays is one of five NL players to have eight consecutive 100-RBI seasons, along with Mel Ott, Sammy Sosa, Chipper Jones and Albert Pujols. Mays hit 50 or more home runs in both 1955 and 1965. This time span represents the longest stretch between 50 plus home run seasons for any player in Major League Baseball history.
Mickey Charles Mantle (October 20, 1931 – August 13, 1995) was an American baseball center fielder who played 18 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees from 1951 to 1968. Mantle is regarded by many to be the greatest switch hitter of all time, and one of the greatest players in baseball history. Mantle was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974 and was elected to the Major League Baseball All-Century Team in 1999.
Mantle was noted for his hitting ability, both for average and for power.[citation needed] He won the Triple Crown in 1956, leading MLB in batting average, home runs, and runs batted in (RBI). He received three American League (AL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards and played in twenty All-Star games. Mantle appeared in 12 World Series, winning 7 of them. He holds the records for most World Series home runs (18), RBIs (40), runs (42), walks (43), extra-base hits (26), and total bases (123). He is also the career leader in walk-off home runs, with a combined thirteen, twelve in the regular season and one in the postseason.
Harmon Clayton Killebrew ( /ˈkɪlɨbruː/; June 29, 1936 – May 17, 2011), nicknamed "Killer" and "Hammerin' Harmon", was an American professional baseball first baseman, third baseman, and left fielder. During his 22-year career in Major League Baseball (MLB), he played for the Washington Senators, a team which later became the Minnesota Twins, and the Kansas City Royals. When he retired, he was second only to Babe Ruth in American League (AL) home runs and was the AL career leader in home runs by a right-handed batter (since broken by Alex Rodriguez). He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984.
Killebrew was a stocky 6-foot tall, 195-pound hitter with a compact swing that generated tremendous power. He became one of the AL's most feared power hitters of the 1960s, hitting 40 home runs in a season eight times. In 1965, he played in the World Series with the Minnesota Twins, who lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers. His finest season was 1969, when he hit 49 home runs, recorded 140 runs batted in (RBI), and won the AL Most Valuable Player Award. Killebrew led the league six times in home runs and three times in RBIs, and was named to eleven All-Star teams.
Henry Louis "Hank" Aaron (born February 5, 1934), nicknamed "Hammer," or "Hammerin' Hank," is a retired American baseball right fielder who played 23 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1954 through 1976. Aaron spent 21 seasons with the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves in the National League (NL) before playing for the Milwaukee Brewers of the American League (AL) for the final two years of his career. Aaron is considered to be one of the greatest baseball players of all time. In 1999, The Sporting News ranked Aaron fifth on their "100 Greatest Baseball Players" list.
After playing with the Indianapolis Clowns of the Negro American League and in the minor leagues, Aaron started his major league career in 1954. In his final season, he was the last Negro League baseball player on a major league roster. His most notable achievement was breaking the career home run record set by Babe Ruth. During his career, Aaron performed at a consistently high level for an extended period of time. He hit 24 or more home runs every year from 1955 through 1973, and is the only player to hit 30 or more home runs in a season at least fifteen times.
Tallulah Brockman Bankhead (January 31, 1902 – December 12, 1968) was an American actress of the stage and screen, talk-show host, and bonne vivante. Bankhead was also known for her deep voice, flamboyant personality, romances with men and women, and support of liberal causes, which broke with the tendency of Southern Democrats at the time to support a more conservative agenda. She was inducted into the Alabama Women's Hall of Fame in 1981.
Bankhead was born in Huntsville, Alabama, to William Brockman Bankhead and Adelaide Eugenia "Ada" Bankhead (née Sledge). The event took place on the second floor of what is now known as the Isaac Schiffman Building; a marker has been erected to commemorate the site and, in 1980, the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. "Tallu" was named after her paternal grandmother. Her mother died as a result of blood poisoning on February 23, 1902, shortly after Tallulah's birth, and is buried in Huntsville's historic Maple Hill Cemetery. Tallulah has been described as "an extremely homely child", overweight and with a deep, husky voice resulting from chronic bronchitis. However, others described her as an exhibitionist, performer, personality, and star from the very beginning.
Thinking back when we first met
I remember what You said
You said You'd never leave me
But I let go of your hand
Build my castles in the sand
But now I'm reaching out again
And I'm not letting go 'till you...
Hold me, Mold me
Sometimes I feel so all alone
See, I gotta find my way Back Home
So why don't You Shape me, Make me
Wash me whiter than the snow
I gotta find my way... Back Home
Master upon my knees I pray
I just want to be the clay
Put your arms around me
Place my life in Your hands
Lord I know I'm just human
But you understand
This time I'm not letting go 'till You...
Hold me, Mold me
Sometimes I feel so all alone
See, I gotta find my way Back Home
So why don't You Shape me, Make me
Wash me whiter than the snow
I gotta find my way... Back Home
'Cause I'm lost and alone
I've been wandering long enough to know
Humbly I search for You
And I'm not gonna rest 'till You...
Choose me, Use me
Sometimes I feel so all alone
I am on my way Back Home
So why don't You Direct me, Bless me
Wash me whiter than the snow
I am on my way...
One more time
Sitting in a silent stare
And I'm the only one that's here
Let's just get it all out
Gimme every single word
Even if it's gonna hurt...
Cuz too many nights
Falling asleep
With all of these doubts
Stuck in between us
Being polite is getting us nowhere now...
So if you wanna stay, just stay
If you wanna go, if you wanna go
Just go
So if you wanna stay, just stay
If you wanna go, if you wanna go
Just go
Go far away, go far away...
So let's just fight
Maybe you could find some tears
And I could feel something real again
You and i know we need to figure this out
Tell me is it too late now...
Cuz too many nights
Falling asleep
With all of these doubts
Stuck in between us
Being polite is getting us nowhere now...
So if you wanna stay, just stay
If you wanna go, if you wanna go
Just go
So if you wanna stay, just stay
If you wanna go, if you wanna go
Just go
Go far away, go far away...
We built too much just to stand and watch it fall
apart...
It hurts too much just to stay the way we are...
So if you wanna stay, just stay
If you wanna go, if you wanna go
Just go
So if you wanna stay, just stay
If you wanna go, if you wanna go
Just go
Sometimes life is like a roller coaster
Flying away
I get caught up just simply surviving
From day to day
But in the midst ofall the lists to do
I need some help to change my point of view
Chorus
Every day I'm giving You everything
Every thought, every word, every song I sing
It ain't no matter what life may bring
I lay it down
Every dayyou make sense of me in the midst of my insanity
Give me hope, give me love, give me strength, make me free
Every day of my life
If I love you with my heart, my soul, my mind
Then my life has found a new direction
It was never mine
'Cause when my heart is truly fixed on you
I find meaning in the things I do
Chorus
Not simply just surviving
There's so much more I'm finding
Than living life so blinded and confused
'Cause where I find my freedom is serving at God's feet and
I'm listening, serching, just waiting, working
Don't go, I'm a gomesick child
Just stay and talk to me
Even if it's just for a while
Oh, I'm afraid of the dark
But You are the light
Stay by my side
Lord, without You ...
I get a little desperate
Reaching our for Your love
I get a little desperate
To feel Your touch from above
I get desperate
Far away just won't do
I'm hopelessly, honestly, constantly
Desperate for You
Oh, Lord, when You hung on that tree
You showed once and for all
That You were desperate for me
And I know You'll ve coming back soon
I hope time will fly, I'll survive
But in the meantime ...
I get a little desperate
Reaching our for Your love
I get a little desperate
To feel Your touch from above
I get desperate
Far away just won't do
I'm hopelessly, honestly, constantly
Desperate for You
Don't know what I did before You
Never really lived before You
And I want You to know that ...
I get a little desperate
Reaching our for Your love
I get a little desperate
To feel Your touch from above
I get desperate
Far away just won't do
I'm hopelessly, honestly, constantly
Desperate for You
I need You more in my life
I am hopelessly, honesly, constantly
Just so you know, I'm gonna break your heart
Just so you know, I'm gonna make a mess
Ive got things unsaid inside my head that I wish you knew that I can't confess
I'm gonna break your heart
I shouldn't keep you, but I can't let go
The way you look at me, it's like you know its like you know
You're afraid to ask I'm afraid to tell
just so you know I'm gonna break your heart
Just so you know I'm gonna make a mess
I've got things unsaid inside my head that I wish you knew that I can't confess
I'm gonna break your heart
Got reservations bout you and me
and if we pull the string things will start unraveling
I'm afraid to stay, you're afraid to leave
Just so you know I'm gonna break your heart
Just so i know I'm gonna make a mess
I've got things unsaid inside my head that I wish you knew that I can't confess I'm gonna break your heart
ooooo break your heart oooooo ooooo oooooo oooo ooo oo oooooooo
break your heart oooo oooo oooo
Just so you know I'm gonna break your heart
Just so you know I'm gonna make a mess
I've got things unsaid inside my head that I wish you know that I can't confess
like I'm gonna break your heart
with all these things inside my head how could you still love me even when.
We were inches away
More like miles apart
And all the unspokens to wall up our hearts
An infinite distance, a line in the ground
Did we travel this fary just to turn back around?
Hope, breathe, touch, see
Reach
Did I find you?
Or did you find me?
Just an ordinary day,
That made history
And we missed the train
Didn't know what to do
So we mapped the world
In one afternoon
And I can't remember
A single word we said
But we both made our peace
And we boasted our heads
And we waved the white flags in this uncivil war
It's funny how love won't let you keep score
Hope, breathe, touch, see
Reach
So hope, need, feel,
Believe
Did I find you?
Or did you find me?
Just an ordinary day,
That made history
And we missed the train
Didn't know what to do
So we mapped the world
In one afternoon
Did I find you?
'Cause we missed the train
Didn't know what to do
So we mapped the world
Did I find you?
Or did you find me?
Just an ordinary day,
That made history
And we missed the train
Didn't know what to do
So we mapped the world
In one afternoon
We mapped the world
I got 88 ways I could say this
To trace a beautiful line from your heart to mine
I tried rhyme after rhyme but it sounds so cliche
So if I trip and make no sense well I can't help myself
Who-oo-ooo Don't make me say it
You-oo-ooo You're my favorite
My heart feels like a Saturday morning
Daydreams flutter around and fill up my head
I'm dizzy spinnin' around and around on a carousel
So if I trip and make no sense well I can't help myself
Who-oo-ooo Don't make me say it
You-oo-ooo You're my favorite
Who-oo-ooo Don't make me say it
You-oo-ooo You're my favorite
Who-oo-ooo Don't make me say it
Who-oo-ooo You're my favorite
Who-oo-ooo Don't make me say it
You-oo-ooo You're my favorite
Who-oo-ooo Don't make me say it
You-oo-ooo You're my favorite
I got 88 ways I could say this
Sunny Day
I open my eyes
I look to the sky
It's a sunny day
The world is looking so bright
What a surprise
It's a sunny day
Oh oh oh oh oh ohooo...
Gimme Gimme Gimme Gimme what I want
I want sunshine, sunshine
Gimme Gimme Gimme cuz it's been so long
I want sunshine, sunshine
I'm feeling so free
Like a summer breeze
It must be magic
I forget all my plans
Put my toes in the sand
I just can't help it
Oh oh ooh oh ohhh
Gimme Gimme Gimme Gimme what I want
I want sunshine, sunshine
Gimme Gimme Gimme cuz it's been so long
I want sunshine, sunshine
We're two of a kind
Like blue birds singing out a simple tune
If you don't mind
It's the perfect kind of day to fall in love
With you
Gimme Gimme Gimme Gimme what I want
I want sunshine, sunshine
Gimme Gimme Gimme cuz it's been so long
Just sit tight
Don't you even think about going anywhere
Stay where you are
Open up your eyes to what's already there
What I'm about to tell ya
What I'm about to say
Don't even let it throw ya
It just might change your day
We're living in a charmed life
Charmed life
You and I
Charmed life
Oh oh ho ho
oh oh ho ho
oh oh ho ho
There's a well-lit sky
hanging over everyone that's walking by
It's plain to see
what we got is coloring a world of black and white
Don't even let it fool ya
We got everything we need
Don't even let it throw ya
I know it's hard to believe
We're living in a charmed life
Charmed life
You and I
Charmed life
Oh oh ho ho
Oh oh ho ho
Oh oh ho
It's easier said than done
It's true it's true
But count your kisses one by one
We're living proof
We're living in a
Charmed life
Charmed life
You and I
Charmed life
Oh oh ho ho
Charmed life
Charmed life
You and I
Charmed life
Oh oh ho ho
Oh oh ho ho
Oh oh ho ho
Ho ho ho
Just sit tight
Best things always happen in life
Best things always happen when you're not looking
It's the little things that can go missing
Best things always happen in a moment
Best things they can happen without a word
And the silence in the dark night
Let the evening sing her song, let the tears fall
Let the moonlight wash away all the earth (?)
‘Cuz all your secrets, you don't need them
All of your secrets, you don't need them
All of your secrets, you don't need them
[OooOoooo]
Oh lover, find your cover in the dark, in the dark
One of Those Days
Don't ask me how I'm doing if you don't wanna know
I Stayed up too late woke up late oh you know how it goes
Give off the vibe everything's fine
As long as you, long as you just don't look in my eyes
It's all going just so perfectly wrong...
Hey ey ey ey
What can I say
It's just been one of those
One of those days
Hey ey ey ey
what can I say
It's just been one of those
One of those days
It's all mine this kind the life of hurry up and wait
Too many things to do, to lose it gets a little insane
Too much crazy in 24 hours
So many bills, too little frills, and not enough flowers
What I wouldn't give for a minute to myself ...
Hey ey ey ey
What can I say
It's just been one of those
One of those days
Hey ey ey ey
what can I say
It's just been one of those
One of those days
Ah ah ah...
Hey ey ey ey
What can I say
It's just been one of those
One of those days
Hey ey ey ey
what can I say
It's just been one of those
One of those days
Come walk a tightrope with me
High up, with nothing but courage and gravity
We could fall
Just take my hand, hold it now
We'll keep our wits if we just don't look down, at all
We could fall
Here we go on wire round, past the edge
Daring attention, of heights we dread
Oh fall or fly
We'll never know if we don't try
I can't tell if I'm more afraid
Of this balancing string or of
simply staying the same
So give me a wire round past the edge
Daring attention of heights we dread
Oh fall or fly
We'll never know if we don't try
So lets go on a wire round, past the edge
Daring attention of heights we dread
Oh, fall or fly
We'll never know if we don't try
Oh, it's high
High time
There you were, and there I was.
Was it fate or from above?
Either way, I found just what I need.
All I do is think of you,
Close my eyes and fall into,
A world that's totally made for you and me.
Oh don't you know, I love, love you.
I'll never let go, oh, of you.
In all of my dreams, you're all I see.
What can I do, but love you?
Now I got someone to hold.
To keep me warm when life is cold.
A little sun to melt away the grey.
It happened in the nick of time.
Unexpected, sweet surprise.
With one hello, I'll never be the same.
Oh don't you know, I love, love you.
I'll never let go, oh, of you.
In all of my dreams, you're all I see.
What can I do, but love you?
Oh don't you know, I love, love you.
I'll never let go, oh no, of you.
In all of my dreams, you're all I see.
What can I do, oooh.
In all of my dreams, you're all I see.
What can I do, mmm, but love you?
Hungry I come to You
For I know You satisfy
I am empty but I know
Your love does not run dry
So I wait for You
So I wait for You
I'm falling on my knees
Offering all of me
Jesus You're all
This heart is living for
Broken I run to You
For Your arms are open wide
I am weary but I know Your touch
Restores my life
So I wait for You
I got a woman that lives up on a hill
I've got a girl that lives up on a hill
She wants to quit me
Oh, but I love her, still
Well, the girl's got eyes like a diamond
Teeth, that shine like gold
Pretty eyes, like a diamond, teeth that shine like gold
Every time she kissed me, she sends my mellow soul
Baby, you're so beautiful but you got to die one day
Oh yes, you're fine and you should be mine, just one day
I just want little lovin' before you pass away
Oh, hold'em fast, come on, and jump and dive
Well, yes, I'ma have it, I'ma have it as a baby boy
My woman's gonna buy me a automatic kitty-car in the morning
Everybody gettin' ride in the new car
Hey baby, baby, I'm going to leave you by yourself
Pretty baby, baby, I'm going to leave you by yourself
You see, you've mistreated me
Now, get on out there and mistreat somebody else
Where does that grab you?
Oh yes, I said yes
All I ever said was yes
If you'd ask me, I'd say, yes, yes, yes
Yes and no
Pretty baby, bye, bye
Gone, bye, gone, bye
Toxic, turned blue, Lady Tomato
Plants you do not find in the spring
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks, dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, people passing, meeting smile after smile
And on every street corner you'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day
City street lights even stop lights, blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch see the kids bunch
This is Santa's big scene and above all this bustle you'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
(JW:)
I got a gal who's always late
Any time we have a date
But I love her
Yes, I love her
I'm gonna walk up to her gate
To see if I can get it straight
'Cause I want her
I'm gonna ask her
Is you is or is you ain't my baby
The way you're acting lately makes me doubt
(MS:)
I am still your baby, baby, baby
Oh, but it seems my flame in your heart done gone out
(JW:)
A woman is a creature that has always been strange
Just when you think you're sure of one
She's gone and made a change
(MS:)
Is you is or is you ain't my baby
Maybe, maybe baby's found somebody new
(Both:)
Or is my baby still my baby true
(MS spoken:)
Now listen, I wanna know what the real deal be.
I mean, talk to me.
(Joe spoken:)
Rap on, baby, rap on, rap on.
(MS spoken:)
Tell me what happened.
I mean, who was that woman I saw you with last night?
And don't you tell me there wasn't no woman. I know it, I know it.
(JW spoken:)
Listen, Marlena. Let me tell you this one time.
If there is anything going on anywhere that is more fun than it is here, I will be there.
And I am here.
(MS spoken:)
You tellin' me the truth?
(JW spoken:)
I'm here with you, y'understand?
(MS spoken:)
I don't know about that.
I don't know about that.
(JW spoken:)
Rap on, baby
(MS:)
Well, I got a guy, always late
And anytime we have a date
Oh, but I love him
Yes, I love him
Now, I am gonna walk up to his gate
Shake my finger and just try to get it straight
'Cause I need him
And I surely am gonna ask him
Now, is you is or is you ain't my baby
The way that you're acting lately makes me doubt
(JW:)
You are still my baby, baby
It seems that my flame in your heart done gone out

The very thought of you and I forget to do
The little ordinary things that everyone ought to do
I'm living in a kind of daydream
I'm happy as a king and foolish though it may seem
To me that's everything, the mere idea of you
The longing here for you
You'll never know, how slow the moments go
Till I'm near to you
I see your face in every flower
Your eyes in stars above
It's just the thought of you
I left her by the River Sainte Marie
We pledged our love until eternity
Along the pebbl'd pathway from her door
We kissed and then we kissed again
And parted on the shore
The Angelus rang out upon the sea
I saw her kneel and say a prayer for me
When winter's gone and spring is on
Falling in love with love is falling for make-believe
Falling in love with love is playing the fool
Caring too much is such a juvenile fancy
Learning to trust is just for children in school I fell in love with love one night when the moon was full
I was unwise with eyes unable to see
I fell in love with love, with love everlasting
But love fell out with me Oh, I fell in love with love one night when the moon was full
I was unwise with eyes unable to see
I fell in love with love, with love everlasting
Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
It doesn't show signs of stopping
I brought some corn for popping
And turned the lights way down low
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
When we finally kissed goodnight
How I'll hate going out in the storm
And if you really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm
The fire is slowly dying
And my dear, we're still goodbying
As long as you love me so
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
It doesn't show signs of stopping
And I brought some corn for popping
The lights are way down low
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
When we finally kissed goodnight
How I'll hate going out in the storm
But if you only hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm
The fire is slowly dying
And my dear, we're still goodbying
As long as you love me so
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
I am a passerby
Half-smile as you cut in line
Hold the door to be polite
You're on your way and I'm on mine
I don't know the day you've had
I don't know where your head is at
You're not a friend of mine
I am just a passerby
What if I knew your name?
What if we had the same home room?
What if the things that tie us are stronger than we knew?
What if we'd shared a pint?
What if we cheered the same team?
What if these moments between us mean more than we could dream?
Would I have grace for you and you for me?
Long days have made us numb
I don't know where you're coming from
I can't look you in the eye
You have seen me at my best, worst
When I have news to share you're the first one I call
You can always make me laugh when I'm mad
You push me to do things that I am afraid of and I'm glad
I cannot remember
Before we were together
I cannot imagine
Living without you, you, you
You have taught me to have a thicker skin
And how to drive stick shift, how to give freely and love my body
I cannot remember
Before we were together
I cannot imagine
Living without you, you, you
I cannot remember
Before we were together
I cannot imagine
You have such a way with words
They jump out from the page to pierce my mind
And I hold them there
And repeat them to myself
Memorize them start to end 'til they are mine
And I know them well
You have such a way with words
You have such a way with words
Whispered in my ear, they sting my heart
And I hide them there
Hum them to a melody
Hoping that as I sing I do my part
To make them more alive
You have such a way with words
You have such a way with words
No one can say it better than you do
So I don't try to
I just hide them in my heart
Knowing the change they bring to me is from the inside out
You give me something to hold on to
I hear your voice and it quiets my mind
Every beautiful melody
Every perfect, piercing line
You give me something to hold on to
You are a vessel of light to me tonight
And while I wrestle with demons and appetites
I cling to you
You give me something to hold on to
You tell the stories I need you to tell
Something in the way you sing
Pulls me out of my lonely hell
You give me something to hold on to
Sing to me
Sing to me, sing to me
Your melancholy songs
Sing to me, sing to me
When there's nothing I can say to make things better
I sling my arm around your shoulder like a sweater
Try to bear some of the burden that you're wearing
But I can't seem to lift you
There's nothing that makes me smile like your laughter
But this is not quite your happily ever after
Comedy or tragedy, we'll write this one together
I'll be there for you
We'll rally, rally
We'll rally around you
We'll rally, rally around you
When every gift I'd give is not befitting
And I see it in your eyes, the thought of quitting
I gather all my strength and then the people who love you
We're here now for you
A band of two keeps warmer than just one
The bar is set so high that I can walk right under
Can't reach even on my tippy toes
No matter how far I run in training for this marathon
I trip and fall, lose by a nose
Then something taps me on the shoulder
I listen when it's older than me, it says
Look up, reach out your hand
You can't see anything new 'til you change where you stand
I'll throw you a rope
You know you're just a fellow prisoner of hope
Another day, another no
Sucker punch leaves me bunched on the floor (woe is me)
This is when I fall into a downward spiral
Negative thoughts feed vanity (& I'm so hungry)
From the high wall
Sometimes all we see is how hard we could fall
So what if we do
Rise mud-scraped & bruised
You're like a man alone in outerspace,
Cradling the earth in the palm of his hand,
You orbit 'round tempted by a face,
Beauty so alive she leaves you spell bound.
Even the stars seem to burn for her
What a melancholy astronautic man,
You know that you're falling without a place to land,
Your heart, and you are worlds apart,
Even though she's in your arms.
You say the things you know will sparkle after,
Marvel at the glow of the light that it brings,
But getting closer, is it darker matter,
Forces at work, greater than you know.
Even the stars seem to burn for her
What a melancholy astronautic man,
You know that you're falling without a place to land,
Your heart, and you are worlds apart,
Even though she's in your arms.
Round and round and round,
You go in circles,
Round and round and round,
You go in circles,
Round and round and round,
You go in circles.
What a melancholy astronautic man,
You know that you're falling without a place to land,
Your heart, and you are worlds apart,
Even though she's in your arms.
What a melancholy astronautic man,
You know that you're falling without a place to land,
Your heart, and you are worlds apart,
My words in your mouth, finishing my phrase
It's no surprise
That over these last four thousand days
You have become the one who can read my eyes
Darlin' you see
The fear in me
And how I'd finally be
If I were willing to let it go
My hand in your hand underneath the table
Keeps me composed
Somehow you understand that I am more able than I know
Brave enough to let it go
Darlin' you see
The fear in me
And how I'll finally be
When I am willing to let it go
I don't want to hold on tight to the
Ways that bring the death of me
Do the same thing over and over again
Expecting something different
You untether me
Darlin' I see
The fear in me
What gave me away
Was it my face
It's written on there clear as day isn't it
Well, that's one thing that's still the same
And I won't lie to you love
I'm not okay
I've already spent too much time hiding that
And that's one thing that hasn't changed
Passions I laid to rest may still have some life in them
So dig, dig with me
Let's raise this thing from the dead
And breathe some life in it
Believe with me
We always say that we know how
To make light of what's heaviest somehow
Tell me that's one thing that hasn't changed
Lean my weight, lean our weight, lean our weight
Lean our weight, lean our weight, lean our weight
It kills me to say it
These are the days that I regret
Never having said what could've been said
While I had the time
While you were still mine
It pains me to admit
These are the times that I regret
Never having said what could've been said
While I had your ear
While you were still near
Why didn't I speak?
Why didn't I tell you all you mean to me?
Why didn't I tell you? Why didn't tell you?
While I had the time
While I had your ear
While I had your heart
When your world trembles and quakes
And your footing suddenly shifts and shakes
Take my hand
We'll hide in the corner, hide in the corner
Take my hand
We'll hide til it's over, til it's all over
We have choices to make
We have promises that we can't break
There is nothing left to lose
So hold on to me, I'll hold on to you
I got a woman that lives up on a hill
Goodbye, I hate to see you go
But have a good time
So long, I'll miss you, dear I know
But have a good time
Have your flame began with your new love?
I'm setting you free
Dance and sing
Pretend that it's true love
Don't worry about me
I know the tears would only drive you farther away
Just go, forget that I'm alive
It's your holiday
When you're tired of being reckless and carefree
Remember that I'm waiting to welcome you home
Now as I sit here, tied up by fear
Sentenced, but what have I done
I wanna know, who is the ruler of my fate
Who makes me want to die
These bitter sweet feelings I feel
These immense sadness
Melancholie
The desire for the unknown
A mirror, a disgraceful pale face
An abused mind is what I see
Zero courage to face life
Dream of free of free life
Dream of hope freedom and joy
Look at your life, is it how you have expected
Death... in every corner
Death comes quietly and slowly
Theres no chance to get away
No hope, no freedom... all gone!
Dream of friends
Which you can convide all the time
Discover your reality, where are your faithful friends
it still feels like embracing the emptiness
wasting emotions in a moment that is eternity
when time stands still, you speed up the sand
but when you drown you deny my helping hands
sometimes you curse the rules of our game
sometimes you kill your emotions for shame
this time it hurts,
thank ya for killing me again
teasing means discourage
so kill me again
when I drown in my sorrow again,
you sheep away those sails of pain
it is just a complicated game
there my fires burns so bright
your heartless act it takes my sight
make this an end!
I cant stand to dwell alone
but when you are here I wish you were gone
I don't know where to run
I don't know false from true
when even time dares not to betray
act like god and drown in your own pride, it is your fault
reflect no feelings always stay that cold - so you are dead
I always thought it's forever, when you came crawling back
hypocrite fake, this is what you are
I hope that this one, when emotions fade
the discouraged pray, when all turns to gray
resist the love that gives you warmth and eats your guts
I'm a wayward child of society
Lies bout me made me to what I am
Run away as long as you dare
Now I rise let the grieftime begin
I know no morals blood thirst in my mind
My mind- my weapon- sick
I'm going to make shure of justice
I devour you all, you mortal fools
Torment, the only thing I'll know
Revenge for your arrogance
Alone absorbed in my grief, I can't find a solution
Emptiness surrounds me, as dying days go by
I tried to battle with it, but I'm not strong enough
I am just waiting for death, to put myself out of misery
I cannot live with these tortures
I'm just a scourge, a scourge of seclution
Slowly my mind dies, am I living in reallity anymore
My body is full of scars, but do I feel a pain anymore
Where are my friends, when I need them most
are you now? Why do leave me crying?
Good times we shared, and I know I've made mistakes too
Passing pictures of you, every where I look
I want to touch you once more, but you dissapear
I dreamed of you last night
You must be strong and fight
It can not be-you die Please wake now up and fly, away
You won't be, forgotten by your friends
You will live, forever in my heart
I can't get you out, out of my mind
But you are forever gone
I saw your blood, coming out your veins
There was no chance for you, to escape from death
I close my eyes to think of you
are you now? Why do leave me crying?
Good times we shared, and I know I've made mistakes too
Passing pictures of you, every where I look
I want to touch you once more, but you dissapear
I dreamed of you last night
You must be strong and fight
It can not be-you die Please wake now up and fly, away
You won't be, forgotten by your friends
You will live, forever in my heart
I can't get you out, out of my mind
But you are forever gone
I saw your blood, coming out your veins
There was no chance for you, to escape from death
I close my eyes to think of you
I'm so lonely I'm so lost
There is noone to console me
I'm so lonely, I'm so lost
I cant stand the pain it hurts so bad
And I cry, I cry for you
And I cry, bitter tears
All my screams fall silent
And my soul bleeds again
I cant help myself
I think of suicide before I start to...
I don't want to live like that
It is weak what you call strong
You think it's right but you are wrong
Are you mentally insane
Beeing xenophobic is a shame
Who do you think you are
Express your opinion if you dare
Have respect of coloured people
Give up this endless fight
You are a misanthropic fool, planting your seeds of hate
Bastards think what you have done
I hope someday you ache like they
I only wanted to live
But I can't stand it any longer
It's time to put an end
I'm scarred for life, that's my fate
Slowly my blood runs cold
While you are waiting for me
All the while having fun
All the while having fun, I know you're the one
Everything's cut in two
Everything's cut in two, just like me and you, just like me
Not in rock 'n' roll, not in rock 'n' roll
Not in rock 'n' roll, did I find my soul
Everyone's got the nerve
Everyone's got the nerve, but no one will serve
Found a place in the sun
Found a place in the sun and still on the run, I got it
Not in rock 'n' roll, not in rock 'n' roll
Not in rock 'n' roll, did I find my soul
Not in rock 'n' roll, not in rock 'n' roll
Not in rock 'n' roll, did I find my soul
Not in rock 'n' roll, not in rock 'n' roll
Not in rock 'n' roll, did I find my soul, that's it
All the while having fun
All the while having fun
All the while having fun
A Minute To Ourselves
I need time away away from all time,
To make a change' to change my mind.
I wanna give. I wanna share.
I wanna sing like it's a prayer.
If we only had a minute to ourselves
I could find hope there with You.
I could find something to do,
Even though I've been missing out for quite some time.
We could find places to go.
We could unlearn all we know.
I could be Yours and You'd be mine for all of time.
I got dirty hands. I got dirty feet,
From all the things I can't repeat.
I've been wrong from the beginning
I've been wrong from the beginning
If you've been losing while I've been winning
Then I've been wrong from the beginning
I sit by the river, I've got my feet in the water
I feel about a dollar like I feel about a daughter
If I've been laughing while you've been crying
Then I've been wrong from the beginning
I got a house on the border, I got shoes made of leather
I got a robe made of velvet, I got a bed made of feather
If you've been freezing while I've been sleeping
Then I've been wrong and for that I'm weeping
If you've been freezing while I've been sleeping
It gets tough and lonely sometimes
And your spirit's barely holding on
What could I say to make you stay?
What could I give? What words do you need to hear?
I could give you all the moments
That your sunlight chased away my clouds
But talking will be the death of me
I won't speak, just send my love your way
Well, you're waiting for salvation, it is waiting for you, too
And when life is at its darkest then the heart will pull you through
So let love go in all you know and let love in
Summertime would see you crying
And your heart knew something had to give
You'll never deny the truths you find
You'll hang on tight to a friend you can adore
Some may offer sanctuary, give you counsel from the years
And when life is at it's darkest, you can fight away the tears
When I am scared, You are my Father
When I can? t breathe, You are the air
When I can? t swim, You are a lifeboat
When I? m tired and weary, You are there
And my times get high, my times get low
You always let me in on all that You know
I could give You time alone and then
You? d only come and ask me,? Where have you been?
When I am weak, You are my shoulders
When I? m poor, You give me a hand
And when I can? t swim, You are a lifeboat
You carry me to dry land
And my times get high, my times get low
You always let me in on all that You know
I could give You time alone and then
You? d only come and ask me,? Where have you been?
When I'm not sure, You are my maker
Speaking words that keep me aware
When I can? t swim, You are a lifeboat
When I? m tired and weary, You are there
And my times get high, my times get low
You always let me in on all that You know
I could give You time alone and then
