Gerty Theresa Cori (née Radnitz, August 15, 1896 – October 26, 1957) was an American biochemist who became the third woman—and first American woman—to win a Nobel Prize in science, and the first woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

Cori was born in Prague (then in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, now the Czech Republic). Growing up at a time when women were marginalized in science and allowed few educational opportunities, she gained admittance to medical school, where she met her future husband Carl Ferdinand Cori; upon their graduation in 1920, they married. Because of deteriorating conditions in Europe, the couple immigrated to the United States in 1922. Gerty Cori continued her early interest in medical research, collaborating in the laboratory with Carl. She published research findings coauthored with her husband, as well as publishing singly. Unlike her husband, she had difficulty securing research positions, and the ones she obtained provided meager pay. Her husband insisted on continuing their collaboration, though he was discouraged from doing so by the institutions that employed him.

Mildred Cohn (July 12, 1913 – October 12, 2009) was an American biochemist. She graduated from high school at 14 and went on to receive her Bachelor's from Hunter College in 1931, her master's in 1932 from Columbia University, and her PhD in physical chemistry in 1938 from Columbia. Cohn joined the staff of the University of Pennsylvania in 1960.

Cohn wrote 160 papers, focusing on the topics of isotopes and ATP. She won the Garvan-Olin Medal the National Medal of Science in 1982. She was awarded the Elliott Cresson Medal in 1975.

During her career, Cohn achieved several gender firsts: She was the first woman to be appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Biological Chemistry, the first woman to become president of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and the first female career investigator for the American Heart Association. In 2009, she was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, New York.

Outside science, Cohn was married to physicist Henry Primakoff from 1946 until his death in 1983.

Jane Park (born December 15, 1986) is an American professional golfer who plays on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour. Before turning professional, Park reached the finals of the 2003 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship and 2004 U.S. Girls' Junior Championship, and won the 2004 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. She also tied for low amateur at the 2006 U.S. Women's Open. Since joining the LPGA in 2007, she has earned more than $1 million and recorded six top-10 finishes.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Park began to play golf when she was 12 years old. In August 2003, 16-year-old Park reached the finals of the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, where she lost to Virada Nirapathpongporn 2 and 1. The following year, Park made it to the finals of the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship, where she faced Julieta Granada. After the 18-hole match finished all square, Granada won on the second extra hole. Three weeks later, Park won the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, defeating Amanda McCurdy 2-up in the title match.
