Frost* is an English neo-progressive rock supergroup, formed in 2004 by Jem Godfrey and members of Arena, Kino, and IQ. Frost* released their first studio album, Milliontown, in 2006, before splitting up. In 2008, Godfrey reformed Frost*, adding Darwin's Radio vocalist and guitarist, Declan Burke, to the lineup, and released their second album, Experiments in Mass Appeal. The band disbanded again in 2011, to reunite later in September, after a brief hiatus.

Formation

Frost* was formed in September 2004, by songwriter, producer and musician Jem Godfrey - better known to the wider world for his work creating chart-topping pop hits for bands including Atomic Kitten - when he made a conscious decision to return to his own musical past writing and playing progressive music, in the band Freefall.

After listening to a broad selection of contemporary progressive music, he first approached John Mitchell of Arena, The Urbane and Kino, (and currently lead guitarist and singer for It Bites). Mitchell then introduced Godfrey to John Jowitt (also of Arena, and additionally IQ and Jadis), subsequently leading to meeting Andy Edwards (of The Wikkamen, Priory of Brion, IQ and the Ian Parker Band).John Boyes, Godfrey's former band-mate in Freefall in the 1990s, and from the band Rook, had already performed significant rhythm guitar work on the early recordings.

List of Mortal Kombat characters

This is a list of playable characters from the Mortal Kombat fighting game series and the games in which they appear. The series takes place in a fictional universe composed of six realms, which were created by the Elder Gods. The Elder Gods created a fighting tournament called Mortal Kombat to reduce the wars between the realms. The first Mortal Kombat game introduces a tournament in which Earthrealm can be destroyed if it loses once again.

The Earthrealm warriors manage to defeat the champion Goro and tournament host Shang Tsung, but this leads Tsung to search for other ways to destroy Earthrealm. Since then, every game features a new mortal who wishes to conquer the realms, therefore violating the rules of Mortal Kombat. By Mortal Kombat: Deception, most of the main characters had been killed by Shang Tsung and Quan Chi (neither of whom were playable in the game), but by Mortal Kombat: Armageddon all of them return.

Frost (Australian band)

FROST is an Australian pop rock band formed in 1997 in Melbourne. Although the band has change several drummers since its inception, they are becoming an increasingly popular independent group in Australia. Lee "Lemon" Trevena is the singer, Tim "Porn" Powne plays bass guitar, and Benny Bishop plays keyboards; as of 2002, Jerry Speiser, formerly of hit 1980s pop band Men at Work, plays drums.

The band received hi-rotation on Nova 100 and SBS Television in 2003 with their single, "You and Me", featured on the SBS and Universal Records CD, The SBS Whatever Sessions. As of 2004 they have released three EPs. The Usual Suspects (EP/MGM/2004), FROST (LP/SHOCK/2005) and 10:06 (EP/Green/2006).

Frost will appear on the Sound of Melbourne Records release in 2011.

Russell, Massachusetts

Russell is a town in Hampden County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 1,775 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 17.9 square miles (46 km²), of which 17.6 square miles (46 km²) is land and 0.3 square miles (0.78 km²) (1.79%) is water. Russell borders Granville to the south, Blandford to the west, Huntington to the north, Montgomery to the northeast and Westfield to the southeast.

The town has two very different sections: South Quarter is mainly uplands at elevations from 1,000 ft (300 m) to 1,400 ft (430 m) along the rim of a plateau west of the Connecticut River Valley.

Most of the escarpment is inside the town. This is the edge of a rift valley originating in the Mesozoic Era when Europe and North America separated. The Connecticut River still follows this rift valley, known as Pioneer Valley, for its early settlement by English Puritans. The escarpment between South Quarter uplands and the valley is forested—too steep to farm—and dissected by streams that have eroded ravines back into the uplands.

USS Russell (DDG-59)

USS Russell (DDG-59) is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer in the United States Navy. She is the second ship of the USN to carry the name Russell and is named for Rear Admiral John Henry Russell and his son, Commandant of the Marine Corps John Henry Russell, Jr..

Service history

In May 2004, Russell departed for a four-month deployment along with several ships including; USCGC Mellon, USS Salvor, USS Fort McHenry and USS McCampbell. The deployment was centered on an annual exercise called Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2004.

On 15 April 2006, Russell provided aid to a fishing vessel in distress while operating in the South China Sea.

On 16 February 2007, Russell was awarded the 2006 Battle "E" award.

On 21 February 2008, Russell participated, along with USS Lake Erie and USS Decatur in the interception and destruction of the dying US satellite US 193. Between 17–21 May 2008, Russell participated in Exercise KhunjarHaad, a multi-national exercise held in the Gulf of Oman. Other participating warships included the French frigate Surcouf, the British frigate HMS Montrose, the British fleet replenishment tanker RFA Wave Knight, and four other coalition ships conducted air defense; surface warfare operation; visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS); and joint gunnery exercises, which focused on joint interoperability training and proficiency.
