There are many ways for you to support the work that RISE: Refugees, Survivors and Ex-Detainees does. Whether you want to volunteer your time at the RISE Resource Centre, organise a food or clothing drive to assist newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers or would like to gather signatures for a petition, there is space for you to help us.
Donate to RISE
RISE is a tax-deductible organization and your financial support helps us to assist refugees and asylum seekers to build new lives in Australia where they can flourish and achieve their fullest potential. Your donation will assist our dedicated volunteers to provide services directly to children, adults and entire families in the refugee and asylum seeker communities. We encourage you to get involved with our organisation and if you believe in community development and the power of people, then you understand the way we work. You understand how lives can be enriched and you know how they can be changed for the better. With your help, we can build a better and stronger future for all.
Your donation will go towards supporting the following services currently provided by RISE:
* Welfare and crisis assistance
* Emergency settlement needs
* Legal and advocacy services
* Health and well-being services for families
* Driving lessons to attain ‘L’ and ‘P’ plates
* Recreational and employment services
* Educational mentoring, including providing school materials for new arrivals
* Public transport costs for students
* Music and arts projects for youth

Volunteer at RISE
RISE exists to enable refugees and asylum seekers to build new lives by providing advice, engaging in community development, enhancing opportunity, and campaigning for refugee and asylum seeker rights. We operate with some of the least supported members of our society, and in areas that are grossly underserviced and underfunded. To respond to this need, we need volunteers. RISE services that currently require volunteers include our: Advocacy program, Settlement assistance program and our Music & arts program.
