Zhou Yongkang became a global focus after the Chinese
Communist Party (CCP) revealed the investigation on former
Politburo Standing Committee, Zhou Yongkang on July 29.

How Zhou Yongkang and his family made profit by abusing
power are everywhere on mainland websites.
Overseas media interpreted Zhou\'s case, as the trend of the
CCP\'s power struggle and punishment of Zhou Yongkang.

US Wall Street Journal reported that the action on Zhou
Yongkang breaks an unofficial taboo against investigating
current and former members of the Politburo Standing
Committee, so Xi Jinping\'s anti-corruption has escalated.

Bloomberg quoted a scholar saying that the removal of Zhou
Yongkang represents the CCP getting rid of a power center in
the political system with a couple of factionalisms.

Deutsche Welle also commented the investigation of Zhou
Yongkang doesn\'t mean the law progress in China.
It shows the Chinese leader Xi Jinping is in power.

Hong Kong Economic Daily reported, \

Gaddafi interview 2010 - Libyan leader Gaddafi is questioned on many topics including terrorism, Palestine and Israel, the Lockerbie bombing and more. For more info and downloads visit: http://www.journeyman.tv/?lid=65621&bid;=10 In this rare interview shot in February 2010 - less than two years before he was killed while hiding in a culvert - Muammar Gaddafi tells presenter George Negus he's always merely represented the will of the people. "For 40 years I have not been the ruler, the authority has been with the people," says Gaddafi calmly. Surrounded by security guards and local TV crews in a library of his military compound, which was bombed by the Americans back in 1986, Gaddafi gives an air of quiet confidence. He continues to deny responsibility in the Lockerbie bombing and advocates a one-state solution to the Israel and Palestine conflict. He also comments on Libya's nuclear programme, and shares his opinions on terrorism and democracy. Quizzed by Negus about his softened image, Gaddafi responds that "It is the world that has changed." Looks like the Story of Star Wars plays on Earth too in the next Episode. I took these pictures on my Flight back from the States to Germany at the Frankfurt Airport. Seems like the biggest german airport plays a key role as an imperial starport in the new episode -- there have just been imperial forces at the scene. Maybe the Rebelboys hide in Berlin... :-D

On the one-year anniversary of NATO's 1999 war against Serbia--a war fought to prevent Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic from deporting or destroying the Albanian population of Kosovo--"War in Europe" offers the first in-depth examination of what led to the war, how it was fought, and what it achieved. "War in Europe" draws on hundreds of hours of news footage, home videos filmed by the Kosovo Liberation Army, Kosovar refugees, and gun camera footage in NATO archives, to chronicle NATO's first war in its 50-year history. In Part One,"The Road to War," FRONTLINE sketches the roots of the conflict: the Kosovar Albanians' fight for independence from Serb oppression and how, despite intense diplomatic efforts by the West, violence between the Kosovo Liberation Army and Milosevic's brutal retaliation escalated throughout 1998. This first chapter relates how Washington and NATO at first were not prepared to fight the war. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, a champion of using force for moral reasons, tried to push President Clinton toward military intervention in Kosovo. When Clinton finally agreed, he publicly ruled out ground troops. The Clinton team calculated that the threat of bombs alone would force Milosevic to withdraw from Kosovo. But NATO lost its gamble. Serbia's leader stood firm and Serb troops accelerated their ethnic cleansing on the ground.

Follow us on TWITTER: http://twitter.com/cnforbiddennews Like us on FACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/chinaforbiddennews Zhou Yongkang became a global focus after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) revealed the investigation on former Politburo Standing Committee, Zhou Yongkang on July 29. How Zhou Yongkang and his family made profit by abusing power are everywhere on mainland websites. Overseas media interpreted Zhou's case, as the trend of the CCP's power struggle and punishment of Zhou Yongkang. US Wall Street Journal reported that the action on Zhou Yongkang breaks an unofficial taboo against investigating current and former members of the Politburo Standing Committee, so Xi Jinping's anti-corruption has escalated. Bloomberg quoted a scholar saying that the removal of Zhou Yongkang represents the CCP getting rid of a power center in the political system with a couple of factionalisms. Deutsche Welle also commented the investigation of Zhou Yongkang doesn't mean the law progress in China. It shows the Chinese leader Xi Jinping is in power. Hong Kong Economic Daily reported, "the most attractive conjecture and suspense in the Zhou Yongkang case: Firstly, if this caged tiger will be really beaten; Secondly, why choose this time to beat; Thirdly, the tiger is taken down. Will it be beaten seriously or lightly? Fourth, is there any lion king to fight after the tiger?" Hong Kong Media: The Anti-Corruption Hurricane Might Sweep Shanghai Beach. There are rumors everywhere about former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Jiang Zemin's faction. It has been in decline since the official announcement of Zhou Yongkang's case. On July 28, just prior to the announcement, the former assistant to Shanghai former party secretary Chen Liangyu, Wang Zongnan was under criminal investigation. It's believed that Jiang Zemin's Shanghai nest will be totally cleaned out after the Zhou case. Hong Kong Economic Daily online reported, Beijing historian Zhang Lifan's analysis, "there is no smoke without fire. The related rumor indicates the contrast of the CCP political faction power has changed. The hurricane lands on Shanghai and possibly sweeps through the Shanghai officialdom." Zhang Lifan said it shows the beating tiger faction prevailed from the announcement of Zhou Yongkang's investigation. It means the Shanghai anti-corruption hurricane is dangerous in the fall-out from the rumors of big reshuffles in Shanghai. Chen Liangyu's old unit is now under investigation. The hurricane will land in Shanghai after Xi Jinping cleaned up Jiang Su, Shanxi Guang Dong and etc." Beijing Uyghur Scholar Prosecuted. On July 30, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Urumqi City Procuratorate initiated a prosecution on former lecturer Ilham Tohti on the charge of secession at the Urumqi Intermediate People's Court. The VOA reported that, Ilham's two attorneys had no idea about the prosecution. One attorney Li FangPing said he is very shocked at the disrespect to the lawyer from the Urumqi procuratorate. Another lawyer Wang Yu said she has been forced to withdraw from the Ilham case. World Uyghur Congress spokesman Dilshat based in Germany told Radio Free Asia that Ilham is a political prisoner. There is a political purpose behind the CCP initiating a high-profile public prosecution on July 30th. 《神韵》2014世界巡演新亮点 http://www.ShenYunPerformingArts.org/

UNGA votes to recognize Palestinian statehood
UNGA votes to recognize Palestinian statehood

  • Updated: 01 Dec 2012
The UN General Assembly has voted to upgrade Palestinians' diplomatic status to a "non-member observer state," thus implicitly recognizing a Palestinian state. This comes despite strong opposition from the US and Israel. The Palestinian bid has been upheld with 138 votes in favor, 9 against and 41 abstentions. Addressing the General Assembly on Thursday Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said the historic vote was the last chance to save the two-state solution. He also told the meeting that it "is being asked today to issue the birth certificate of Palestine." In his speech Abbas mentioned Israel's deadly assault on Gaza that took place this month and stressed that the Palestinians would accept "no less than the independence of the state of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital." The Israeli government has described Abbas's speech, which was met with a standing ovation at the General Assembly, as "defamatory and venomous.""The world watched a defamatory and venomous speech that was full of mendacious propaganda against the IDF (army) and the citizens of Israel," the Israeli PM's office said in a statement. Israeli UN ambassador, Ron Prosor, warned the General Assembly that "the Palestinians are turning their backs on peace.'' UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has urged the parties to renew their commitment to negotiating a peace deal. However the US Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice said the UN's vote on the Palestinians' status places further obstacles in the path of peace. "Today's grand pronouncements will soon fade and the Palestinian people will wake up tomorrow and find that little has changed," she told the assembly with a somber voice. "This resolution does not establish that Palestine is a state." The vote could be seen as an embarrassing defeat for Washington, which has always been a staunch ally of Israel. UN move to upgrade Palestinians' diplomatic status is a strong gesture of support to the Palestinians which could help end the stalemate in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Russia's UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin told RT. "We think it's very important to make sure that it can be used as a stepping stone for restarting the negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians." The international community is fed up with the conflict, he said. "Countries in the United Nations believe that dramatic steps need to be taken in order to have this conflict resolved." The Palestinian bid to join the global body as a full member state failed in 2011 due to lack of support at the UN Security Council. To get the "non-member observer state" status, the Palestinians only needed a simple majority at the 193-member General Assembly, such status is already held by the Vatican. Among many other nations the Palestinian bid for an upgraded diplomatic status was backed by a number of EU states, including France, Spain, Denmark, Portugal and Austria. The bid had overwhelming support from developing nations. The nations who voted against the upgrade of Palestinian status were the United States, Israel, Canada, the Czech Republic and Panama. The notion of Palestinian statehood was also objected to by several Pacific island nations, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru and Palau. The Palestine Liberation Organization, the umbrella group of various Palestinian factions, had previously had only "permanent observer" status at the UN. The new status now grants the Palestinians more weight in peace talks with Israel and gives it a greater chance of joining UN agencies and the International Criminal Court (ICC). Joining the ICC would give the Palestinians greater legal basis for pursuing possible war-crimes prosecutions against the Israeli military. However despite the support, the French Foreign Minister has warned Palestinians against pursuing Israel in the International Criminal Court, calling such a move "counter-productive." Following the announcement, Palestinians erupted in celebrations, hugging each other, waving flags and setting off fireworks. A crowd of at least 2,000 poured onto a square in the West Bank city of Ramallah. Joyful crowds also gathered in the isolated Gaza Strip, which was the scene of recent fighting between Palestinians and the Israeli Defense Force. "It's a great feeling to have a state, even if in name only," a civil servant Mohammed Srour told AP in Ramallah. "The most beautiful dream of any man is to have an independent state, particularly for us Palestinians who have lived under occupation for a long time.''

An Israeli military spokesman said the strikes signalled a "gradual increase in the pressure" on Hamas. Palestinian officials say more than 110 people have been killed in Gaza in the past 24 hours. Israeli forces targeted key strategic targets, including the home of the Hamas leader in Gaza, Ismail Haniyeh, and a building housing Hamas-controlled broadcast outlets. Haniyeh's home was hit by a missile shortly before dawn, causing damage but no injuries. Eleven people were killed in a strike on a house in Bureij refugee camp in Gaza City. Shells hit fuel tanks at Gaza's only power plant, causing a massive explosion and black smoke to billow into the air. The plant's capacity - already down to about three hours' electricity supply a day - is likely to be further reduced. Hamas said al-Aqsa TV and al-Aqsa Radio were also targeted. The television station continued to broadcast but the radio station went silent.
