BBC Radio Drama - The Franchise Affair by Josephine Tey
The Franchise Affair by Josephine Tey was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 BBC Radio on 8th October 2005
The Franchise is a dark and ugly house on the outskirts of the village, inhabited by two women who keep themselves to themselves. When they are accused of abducting and torturing a young girl, people begin to take notice, and local solicitor Robert Blair finds himself involved in the most extraordinary case of his life.

A stranger enters the inner sanctum of the Ashby family posing as Patrick Ashby, the heir to the family's sizeable fortune. The stranger, Brat Farrar, has been carefully coached on Patrick's mannerisms, appearance and every significant detail of Patrick's early life, up to his thirteenth year when he disappeared and was thought to have drowned himself.
