The Nichiren Shu Racist Priest is a Video posted by 5 time World Karate/Kickboxing Champion Anthony "Amp" Elmore. Elmore has been a Buddhist at the time of this posting for 44 years. He has been a Nichiren Buddhist for 40 years. Elmore explains that there exists in Buddhism particularly from his Japanese teachers a culture of "Ethnocentrism." The Title from this video is called "Nichiren Shu Racist Priest." Elmore understands that "Racism is Sometimes Sublime." Whether racism is "Sublime or Overt" it is still "Racism." Elmore posted this video in hopes that we Buddhist can extricate racism from Buddhist and together move into a post non racial Buddhism. Elmore makes note in this Video about "Hindu Buddhism." Most who study and teach Buddhism do not account the historical account of Buddhism. The Historical Buddha Shakyamuni Buddha came from the Indigenous people of India known as the "Naga." The Naga later became known as Dravidians. While there are many names for India's indigenous people the bottom line is the fact that the Buddha Shakyamuni was not a "Hindu Buddhist." The Hindu or Brahmins in India organized the world's first "Racist System" called the "Cast System." The racist Hindu incorporated the Buddha Shakyamuni into the "Hindu Pantheon." Much of the Buddhist teachings and History comes from Hindu Buddhism. Indian Scholar Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar challenged the racist Buddhist System in India. Dr. Ambedkar is responsible for reintroducing Buddhism back to India. The Hindu destroyed Buddhism in India. Elmore who introduced a Black History Month Video featuring his 15 year old son was challenged by Nichiren Shu Priest Rev. Ryunin Sorenson. Elmore noted that Rev. Ryunin Sorenson made one of those subliminal racist comments. Elmore notes that it was not just the comments made by Rev. Ryunin but it was the "Spirit of White Superiority" whereas Whites dismiss facts for reasons that a Black made the statement and a White wanted to exert their "Intellectual White Superiority." Elmore is one who sees the value in a "Good Intellectual Fight." Elmore is clear if this Nichiren Shu Priest want a fight I will take this fight right to his face. Elmore includes the African American Nichiren Shu Priest Myokei Shonin in this challenge. Elmore departed from Nichiren Shoshu and he began to practice with the Nichiren Shu branch in Memphis, Tennessee. Elmore asked questions and he was vehemently asked not to come to Nichiren Shu meetings anymore. The issue at sake was that of "Early African History of Japan." Dr. Alexander Francis Chamberlain American 1st anthropologist wrote a Journal in 1911 called the "The Negro Contribution to Civilization." In this Journal Dr. Chamberlain noted that the "Shogun of Japan was a Negro." Rev. Ryunin Sorenson attempt was to embarrass Elmore noting that such things were "Wishful Thinking, and Fantasy." Over the last 100 years the World's top Black scholars wrote about the Black Shogun whose name was "Sakanouye Tamuramaro." Elmore called the Black Nichiren Shu female Priest Myokei Shonin and other Nichiren Shu members to defend Black Scholars and challenge Rev. Rynin's racist statements. Elmore concludes the video making the note that Myokei Shonin supported the Nichiren Shu policy that Elmore was not welcome at Nichiren Shu meetings because he promotes a Buddhism that is "Inclusive of Black History." Nichiren Shu apparently supports the thinking of Rev. Ryunin Sorenson whose "Whiteness allows him to disrespect and disregard Black scholarship.
