Most of the French foods we sampled would be found at any kind of local French bakery (pâtisserie).
50 Things to do in Paris, France | Top Attractions Travel Guide Travel Video Transcript:
Hello, and welcome to Paris. This week we are exploring the city of love, city of lights and city of art. This video will be showing you the top 50 things to do while you visit Paris.
So we're wrapping things up here. What would be your one tip for visiting Paris? Well, I have recently spent a whole ten days here in summer. I would say that if you really want to visit the art galleries, the museums and all of the main attractions you should probably avoid summer and like either come in the spring or the fall or even winter. Because the lines are insane and sometimes you have to wait like an hour and a half or two hours just to go inside a museum or go inside a church. And you just kill a lot of time. So that is my one tip. Try and avoid summer when the crowds are just everywhere and it is also a bit too hot in my opinion. But that is just me.
So how about you? What are your final thoughts on Paris? So my finals thoughts is obviously Paris is one of the top cities in the world in terms of attractions. But it is like any other big gritty city. And you have to come with realistic expectations. There is going to be garbage, there is going to be lines, there is going to be some areas that are a bit of an eyesore. But there is also a lot of beauty and there is also a lot to do here. So I highly you recommend coming but just don't have Paris on such a high pedestal that you're going to be disappointed.
And that concludes our guide of the top 50 things to do and see in Paris. We hope you enjoyed watching, and let us know if there are other places you would add to this list.
This is part of our Travel in France series. We're making a series of videos showcasing French culture, French arts, French foods, French religion, French cuisine and French people.

Paris, the capital of France, attracts 42 million visitors a year.
You can start your Paris tour on the metro, on foot, or with a taxi or bicycle; the city is easily navigable on all fronts. Visit the Arc de Triomphe in the center of the city and marvel at its graceful lines and commanding presence. Built between 1806 and 1836, the Arc is one of a number of historical arches and landmarks peppering Paris.
If your Paris sightseeing includes purchasing souvenirs, head to the Champs-Élysées, home of boutique shopping, numerous restaurants, and many bars, along with a theatre and other entertaining venues. Learn about culture and creativity at the Louvre, a 14th-century palace turned art museum, and check in on the Mona Lisa and her mysterious smile. Notre Dame Cathedral cannot be missed, as this imposing Gothic structure has stood since 1345.
Speaking of imposing, the Eiffel Tower is most frequently used to represent Paris. Stroll beneath it to get a good idea of its height, or travel to the top for a stunning view of the City of Light.

Travel video about destination Paris in France.
Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. First established by the Celts, next used strategically by the Romans, then it served the extravagant lifestyle of the Sun King, Louis XIV until it became a hotbed of Revolution.
Champs-Élysée is surely one of the most beautiful avenues in the world. It has wide boulevards, shady corners, ambient street cafes and classic Parisian buildings that are decorated with flowers.
Since 1873, the Palais de l'Élysée has been the residence of the French President. At the beginning of the 17th century, Madame de Pompadour lived there and during the Revolution the liberated people cavorted in its luxurious rooms.
Through a small triumphal arch decorated with scenes of Napoleon's victorious army, there is the garden created by Leotre, the Jardin des Tuileries. A bridge and fountain are the focal points of this popular park, created in typical French style.
A modern glass pyramid and a fountain decorate the courtyard of the former Louvre Palace, which since the time of the Revolution has been transformed into a museum that contains the famous Louvre art gallery. Its collection of remarkable historic treasures and superb art collection make it one of the world's most famous museums with Leonardo Da Vinci´s masterpiece, the Mona Lisa, taking pride of place.
Situated on a small island on the River Seine is the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the 'Mother Church of the Nation'. Built on the foundations of a Roman temple and commissioned by the bishops Maurice and Eudes de Sully, it took almost 200 years to build this Gothic masterpiece.
Built at the end of the 19th century as a symbol of national revival, Montmartre's Sacre Coeur has the appearance of a white, fairy-tale palace with 237 steps that lead up to the main entrance of this extraordinary structure. Its Byzantine architecture and five cupolas are reminiscent of the Marcus Dome in Venice.
Of course, there are the dizzy heights of the Eiffel Tower and a great deal more. Paris is a wonderful festival of the senses!

Paris is the ‘city of light’, the ‘city of love’ the ‘capital of fashion’. The bank of the Seine, the Montmartre and the Quartier Latin tell us of artists: about Dumas, Zola, and Victor Hugo who depicted the city in unforgettable literary pieces and about painters who did the same on canvas. On moonlit nights, and foggy autumn mornings the shadows of Modigliani, Renoir and Toulouse-Lautrec appear. Every corner is famous from a French movie, and we wait for Jean Gabin and Belmondo to appear on the next street. The streets and squares remind us of the Sun King, the ‘man in the iron mask’ and Napoleon. In the cafes old chansons are sung on the voice of Edith Piaf and Yves Montand. The wheel of the Moulin Rouge is unstoppable, while in the halls of the Louvre Leonardo’s Mona Lisa is smiling enigmatically, on the Pont Neuf lovers are meeting, below the Grand Arche the traffic never slows down, and the iron bars of the Eiffel Tower are looming above the Notre Dame and the Sacre Coeur.

Ten Things to do in Paris: Paris Travel Guide - *Watch in HD* (http://www.travellersbazaar.com).
My name's Quinn Russell, creator of luxury travel blog, www.TravellersBazaar.com. I travelled to Paris for the first time this past May 2013. I knew I would enjoy my time in this city, but once there I was completely taken by the cities charm, architecture, culinary delights, and cosmopolitan people.
In this Paris Travel Guide: Ten Amazing Attractions, I have selected the quintessential attractions every visitor must attempt to do while in Paris; there are so many other options that if I tried to include all, it'd be a life long film. So start here with my ten recommendations, research further, and customize your trip accordingly. Enjoy your visit to Paris, "The City of Love," & "The City of Light" ("La Ville -Lumière").

Paris is the capital and largest city of France. It is situated on the river Seine, in northern France, at the heart of the Ile-de-France region.
The most important places to visit in Paris are: Place de la Concorde (the largest square in Paris, it has a 3000 year old Egyptian obelisk and is particularly beautiful at night), Pompidou Center (a colorfully creative modern building housing a vast collection of modern art), Arc de Triomphe (built in the early 1800s by Napoleon, the Arc is a symbol of national pride. At the top, you'll find fantastic views of Paris), Versailles Palace (a royal château just outside of Paris has grand architecture, 700 rooms and beautiful gardens), Notre Dame (one of the most recognized symbols in the world and over 750 years old, Notre Dame has incredibly detailed Gothic architecture), Sacré-Coeur (this Byzantine style stunning light church, despised by intellectuals when it was built, is a must see for Paris visitors), Louvre Museum (perhaps the world's most famous museum, it hosts thousands of pieces of great art, including Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lise), Eiffel Tower (amongst the most recognizable and visited monuments in the world, everyone must experience the Eiffel Tower in their lifetime).
If you want to save time and money, the most important Paris travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

A walk around the city of Paris France during a period of one week in December 2011.
Paris, being my favorite city, was deserving of a longer film. I hope that this longer, yet 'small scratch of the surface' film of this magnificent city shall convince you to visit for yourselves and experience all that Paris has to offer first hand. Bon Voyage!
With Google Maps, you may get an even better idea of these spots by cross referencing the image description to the map:
https://www.google.ca/maps/@48.8516303,2.3364169,12z?hl=en
I definitely recommend taking a tour with 'Sight Seekers Delight' in Paris. Their various walking tours show you the best of Paris.

The musicians playing in the metro in the film are called "Les Musiciens de Lviv". Some more info on them: http://www.squidoo.com/cabaret-slave
The man doing tricks with the football at Montmartre is Iya Traoré, a professional football player and freestyler. https://www.facebook.com/iyartball
Camera equipment:

- Sony HDR-AX2000 HD video camera (night shots and most stationary shots).
- Sony Nex-VG10 HD video camera (walking shots).

- Sennheiser K6 module + ME66 shotgun microphone capsule.

Lingering over pain au chocolat in a sidewalk café, relaxing after a day of strolling along the Seine and marveling at icons like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe... the perfect Paris experience combines leisure and liveliness with enough time to savor both an exquisite meal and exhibits at the Louvre. Awaken your spirit at Notre Dame, bargain hunt at the Marché aux Puces de Montreuil or for goodies at the Marché Biologique Raspail, then cap it all off with a risqué show at the Moulin Rouge.

Paris, the cosmopolitan capital of France, is one of the largest agglomerations in Europe, with 2.2 million people living in the dense, central city and almost 12 million people living in the whole metropolitan area. Located in the north of France on the river Seine, Paris has the reputation of being the most beautiful and romantic of all cities, brimming with historic associations and remaining vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design. Dubbed the City of Light (la Ville Lumière) and Capital of Fashion, it is home to the world's finest and most luxurious fashion designers and cosmetics, such as Chanel, Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent, Guerlain, Lancôme, L'Oréal, Clarins, etc. A large part of the city, including the River Seine, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city has the second highest number of Michelin-restaurants in the world (after Tokyo) and contains numerous iconic landmarks, such as the world's most visited tourist site the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum, Moulin Rouge, Lido etc, making it the most popular tourist destination in the world with 45 million tourists annually.
Landmarks in Paris
=============
Arc de Triomphe (8th)— The Arc de Triomphe exudes grandeur and offers a central view of the city Métro/RER Charles de Gaulle-Etoile
Catacombs (14th)— Used to store the exhumed bones of about 6 million people from the overflowing Paris cemeteries. They fill a section of caverns and tunnels that are the remains of old stone mines underneath the city. (There is a limit to the number of visitors allowed within the Catacombs at one time (200 persons). So, if you arrive just after opening, you must wait until someone exits, approximately 45-60 minutes, before anyone is admitted). Métro Denfert-Rochereau
Château de Versailles (Versailles)— Must be seen. France's most exquisite chateau, on the outskirts of the city, easily visited by train. Once the home to Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. RER Versailles Rive Gauche
The Eiffel Tower (Tour Eiffel) (7th)— No other monument better symbolizes Paris. Métro Bir-Hakeim (6) or RER Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel
Grand Arche de la Défense (La Défense)— A modern office-building variant of the Arc de Triomphe. Métro/RER La Défense
Notre Dame Cathedral (4th)— Impressive Gothic cathedral that was the inspiration for Victor Hugo's novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Climb to the top! Métro Cité (4) or RER Saint-Michel-Notre Dame
Opera Garnier (9th)— Masterpiece of theatre architecture of the 19th century built by Charles Garnier and inaugurated in 1875 housing the Paris Opera since it was founded by Louis XIV. Métro Opéra
Pantheon (5th)— Underneath, the final resting place for the great heroes of the French Republic including Voltaire, Victor Hugo, and Marie Curie; above, a marvellous view of the city. Métro Cardinal Lemoine (10) or RER Luxembourg
Père-Lachaise Cemetery (20th)— Unlike any cemetery in the world. Ornate grave stones, monuments set among tree lined lanes. See the graves of Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, and Frederic Chopin, amongst many others. Métro Père Lachaise
Sacré Coeur (18th)— A church perched on top of the highest point in Paris. Behind the church is the artists' area, in front are spectacular views of the whole city. Métro Anvers (2) or Abbesses (12), then climb the stairs on Rue Foyatier or take the funicular to the top of the hill.
Sainte Chapelle (1st)— Exquisite stained glass chapel. More beautiful interior than the gloomy Notre Dame Cathedral. Métro Cité

Here's some sightseeing tour guide advice when travelling alone (solo).
With four days off from work, I hopped onto the first flight to Paris the next day.
This is the first episode of my attempt to revisit my favorite places in Paris, France in 2 days.
It's amazing how little Paris has changed since my last visit seven years ago.
Some travel tips :
1. Because I'm travelling as a non-revenue passenger, I always wait until I arrive before I book my hotel (using the free airport Wi-Fi).
2. Remember that U.S. credit cards don't always work in Europe, so use cash for daily transactions.
3. To avoid theft, wear a money belt containing your essentials : Passport, credit cards, cash and your return plane ticket home.
4. Use the Tourist Information booth at the airport (terminal 1, usually no lines) !
Buy yourself a Paris Museum Pass to skip the many ticket buying lines in Paris (although the Museum Pass excludes the Eiffel Tower).
5. Buy a Paris Visite day pass for zones 1-3 or buy a 10 ticket "carnet" (which is cheaper) to get around Paris.
6. For transportation, I recommend taking the RER B train into Paris versus the Roissy bus. Trains are almost always faster because they aren't slowed down by traffic and yet have more stops to choose from.
The Roissy bus only makes one stop in the city, at Place de l'Opera.

wn.com/Paris France Travel Tips (Aug 10 2015), Part 1

Paris Travel Video - Travel in Paris, France in a full length travel video including the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, Louvre, Seine River, Notre Dame, Arc De Triomphe, Paris Boat Ride / Tour, Paris Obelisk, Place de la Concorde, Paris Metro and other destinations, structures and landmarks.
Highlights include St Chappelle Church with 13th-century stained glass, La Sainte-Chapelle that once contained Louis IX's relics of Christ, which included the Crown of Thorns, the Image of Edessa and some thirty other items.
Climb the Arc de Triomphe and look down on the historic axis (Axe historique) -- a sequence of monuments and grand thoroughfares on a route which goes from the courtyard of the Louvre, to the Grande Arche de la Défense. The monument was designed by Jean Chalgrin in 1806, and its iconographic program pitted heroic French against bearded Germanic warriors in chain mail. It set the tone for public monuments, with triumphant patriotic messages.
Video of the Eiffel Tower, a iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. It was named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. Erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair, it has become both a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world.
Video includes scenes of a Notre Dame Cathedral service with video of the Pieta sculpture by Michelangelo, Rose Window and famous Stained Glass. Notre Dame Cathedral is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture and among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world. The naturalism of its sculptures and stained glass are in contrast with earlier Romanesque architecture.
Lunch on Avenue des Champs-Élysées, a street in Paris, France. With its cinemas, cafés, luxury specialty shops and clipped horse-chestnut trees, the Champs-Élysées is arguably one of the world's most famous streets, and is one of the most expensive strips of real estate in the world. Several French monuments are also on the street, including the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde. The name is French for Elysian Fields, the place of the blessed dead in Greek mythology. According to a much used description, the Champs-Élysées is la plus belle avenue du monde ("the most beautiful avenue in the world").
Visit Place de la Concorde, designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel in 1755 as a moat-skirted octagon between the Champs-Élysées to the west and the Tuileries Garden to the east. During the French Revolution the statue of Louis XV of France was torn down and the area renamed "Place de la Révolution". The new revolutionary government erected the guillotine in the square, and it was here that King Louis XVI was executed on 21 January 1793.
Follow along to Luxembourg Park with Sailboats in the Fountain with Street Artists and Street Performers in Paris, France. Stroll on the Seine River, with 37 bridges within Paris and dozens more spanning the river outside the city. Examples in Paris include the Pont Louis-Philippe and Pont Neuf, the latter of which dates back to 1607. Outside the city, examples include the Pont de Normandie, one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world, which links Le Havre to Honfleur.

Muslims worldwide on Saturday strongly condemned the terrorist attacks by the Islamic State that killed at least 127 people in Paris.
Shuja Shafi, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, an umbrella body that represents more than 500 organizations including mosques, schools and charities, described the killings as "horrific and abhorrent."
"My thoughts and prayers for the families of those killed and injured and for the people of France, our neighbours," he said in a statement.
"This attack is being claimed by the group calling themselves 'Islamic State'. There is nothing Islamic about such people and their actions are evil, and outside the boundaries set by our faith."
Tariq Ramadan, a professor of Islamic Studies at Oxford University in England and president of the European Muslim Network think tank said in a statement: “Absolute and immediate condemnation. They shouted, we are told, ‘Allahu akbar” (God [is] the greatest) to support and justify their inhuman actions.
“With this they told a lie and a truth. Their lie is related to Islam and its message as not even one of its teachings, ever, can justify their actions. These acts are the result of minds inhabited by the worst, or minds without minds, manipulated or manipulators.”

Muslims Around The World Condemn Paris Attacks Claimed By ISIS
Muslim leaders the world over are condemning the horrific terror attacks that struck Paris Friday night, expressing outrage and shock at an onslaught of shootings and bombings that left at least 120 dead and hundreds wounded.
The outpouring of support for the victims and and disgust for the attacks began even before ISIS, the militant terrorist group current terrorizing entire sections of Iraq and Syria, claimed responsibility for the carnage. Muslim imams, scholars, commentators, and average Muslims expressed grief and horror using social media. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, an Islamic movement founded in British India in the 19th century, released a statement rebuking the “barbaric attacks.”
In Ireland, the Imam of the Al-Mustafa Islamic Centre and Chair of the Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council, offered prayers for the victims and dismissed terrorist’s claims to Islam.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Paris and every other place on earth plagued by sick men with weapons and bombs,” Imam Umar Al-Qadri said. “Terrorists have no religion whatsoever. Their religion is intolerance, hatred for Peace.”
Shuja Shafi, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, repeated Al-Qadri’s rejection of ISIS.
“This attack is being claimed by the group calling themselves ‘Islamic State’,” he said. “There is nothing Islamic about such people and their actions are evil, and outside the boundaries set by our faith.”
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar University, the thousand-year-old, highly influential center for Sunni Muslim scholarship, called the attacks “odious” and called on the world to “unite to face this monster,” according to French magazine Jeunea Frique.
There is nothing Islamic about such people and their actions are evil, and outside the boundaries set by our faith.
Leaders of several Muslim-majority nations also spoke out. Iranian president Hassan Rouhani called the attacks a “crime against humanity,” Qatari foreign minister Khaled al-Attiyah described them as “heinous,” and Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister declared they were “in violation and contravention of all ethics, morals and religions.” Saudi Arabia’s highest religious body also spoke out, saying “terrorists are not sanctioned by Islam and these acts are contrary to values of mercy it brought to the world.”
Joko Widodo, president of Indonesia — the largest Muslim nation population-wise — said “Indonesia condemns the violence that took place in Paris.”
In the United States, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Muslim social justice group, quickly issued a press release rejecting terrorism — something they do regularly in response to such incidents. Their statement also made mention of a bombing in Beirut, Lebanon on Thursday that wounded 200 and killed 45. Three residents of Dearborn, Michigan lost their lives in that attack attack, which ISIS also claimed responsibility for.
“These savage and despicable attacks on civilians, whether they occur in Paris, Beirut or any other city, are outrageous and without justification,” CAIR’s statement read. “We condemn these horrific crimes in the strongest terms possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of those killed and injured and with all of France. The perpetrators of these heinous attacks must be apprehended and brought to justice.”
CAIR is also part of a broad coalition of Muslim groups scheduled to hold a press conference noon Saturday to collectively condemn the attacks. The group is said to include representatives from CAIR, American Muslims for Palestine, Islamic Circle of North America, Muslim Alliance in North America, Muslim American Society, Muslim Legal Fund of America, Muslim Ummah of North America, and the Mosque Cares.
Pope Francis appeared to echo their rejection of ISIS’s religious claims in a phone interview with the Italian Bishops’ Conference television network on Friday. Explaining that he sees the violence as part of a “piecemeal Third World War,” he said “there is no religious or human justification” for the attacks.
[The pope] said ‘there is no religious or human justification’ for the attacks.
“I am close to the people of France, to the families of the victims, and I am praying for all of them,” Pope Francis said. “I am moved and I am saddened. I do not understand, these things hard to understand.”
The Vatican seconded the pope on Saturday.
“We are shocked by this new manifestation of maddening, terrorist violence and hatred which we condemn in the most radical way together with the pope and all those who love peace,” said Rev. Federico Lombardi, the Vatican’s chief spokesman said in a statement

National Security Council aides told President Obama there is no immediate threat to the United States in the wake of the Paris attacks that the Islamic State claimed responsibility for, the White House said Saturday.
During an NSC meeting convened by Obama, officials discussed "the latest intelligence surrounding the attacks, and — while noting that there was no specific or credible threat to the United States — reviewed our homeland security posture to ensure we are doing everything necessary to protect the American people," the White House said in a statement.
Aides also said they have "no information to contradict the initial French assessment of ISIL's responsibility," the statement said, using the acronym for the militant group.

Statement claiming to be from Islamic State says France is ‘key target’
Attacks were retaliation for France’s bombing in Syria, Isis says
129 died in attacks, Hollande says; 200 more were injured, 99 critically
President says France can defend itself after at least 128 people killed in series of gun and bomb attacks across Paris.
The LA Times has quoted US law enforcement officials with knowledge of the French investigation, as saying that the attack was seemingly planned in Belgium.
Meanwhile, Barack Obama convened his National Security Council to discuss the Paris attacks before departing for the G20 summit.
According to a statement circulated by the White House, the Council was briefed on the latest intelligence, but noted that there was “no specific or credible threat to the United States.”
The Council said that it had no information to contradict initial reports from France that Isis was responsible for Friday night’s massacre.
Police have also closed down the Champ de Mars RER underground station, near the Eiffel Tower, according to Reuters.
Reuters is reporting that the area around the Eiffel Tower has been evacuated, with heavy police activity around the Pullman Hotel, in the seventh arrondissement. The Guardian has not yet been able to confirm this.
France plans to go ahead with a global climate change summit in Paris at the end of the month despite Friday’s attacks. “It’s an essential meeting for humanity,” said prime minister Manuel Valls, ading that the summit would also be an opportunity for world leaders to show their solidarity with France after the attacks.

Climate change is likely to constitute one of the greatest human rights challenge of the century. Incorporating an effective human rights dimension in the universal and legally binding Agreement under negotiation at COP21 in Paris (30 November – 12 December 2015) is thus of crucial importance. But how does climate change affect the enjoyment of different human rights, and what human rights language do the different human rights constituents call for in the Paris agreement?

Council/Carole Dieschbourg: "We adopted a strong & responsible EU mandate for the COP 21 in Paris"

EN - Environment Council - Press conference by Carole DIESCHBOURG, Luxembourg Minister for the Environment, and Miguel ARIAS CAÑETE, Member of the EC in charge of Climate Action and Energy: Carole DIESCHBOURG and Miguel ARIAS CAÑETE get a strong, responsible, dynamic & unanimous EU mandate for the Paris Climate Conference - 18.09.2015 - Council, Justus Lipsius building, Brussels.
Carole Dieschbourg: "We adopted a strong and responsible EU mandate for the Paris Climate Conference that sets out our vision for the new climate agreement. With this mandate, the EU continues to show leadership towards Paris and facilitate a global agreement that is acceptable for all. This mandate is balanced, it is a compromise but it shows clearly the pathway to our long-term vision of a global and sustainable climate resilient society. (...)
After Paris, there will be the real challenge; we will have to implement the commitment we made in Paris and be responsible. It is encouraging to see that already 62 countries worldwide have reduction commitments covering close to 7% of the global emissions so this much more than we already have had in the Kyoto agreement; so we are looking forward to setting the missing reduction targets as soon as possible and the EU has put forward today a good mandate for this. (...)
We have a long-term target; for the first time the EU translates the 2° target into an operational language providing a clear signal to investors, to business and others that a transition to a climate resilient world is unescapable. We have sticked to the legally binding commitment and maintained this position very clearly. (...)"
Miguel Arias Cañete: "The EU is fully equipped with a very solid position for Paris; we stand united which is of the outmost importance and ready to conclude an ambitious, robust and binding global climate deal and we will settle for nothing less. President Juncker made it clear in its "State of the Union" speech last week that the EU is not prepared to sign just any deal. The vision we are presenting today is ambitious and realistic; it is a fair deal that will get everybody on board and keep us on track to keep the global warming below 2°C. (...)
So we are calling on all countries by 2020 to collectively pick their emissions, this is very important, and also to reduce them by 50% by 2050 compared to 1990 levels. This figure also can be translated to the 60% by 2050 compared to 2011 that the Commission proposed in its communication in February. And not only that, we have also agreed to call on all countries to become carbon neutral y the end of the century. (...)
So far, 62 countries representing more than 62% of global emissions have announced their contributions; that is very good news because our President has said it is 4 times the percentage of global emission covered by the Kyoto protocol. This is a real progress and the contributions are not just numbers nor targets, countries have done serious work approved at the highest political level and many for the 1st time and this is already a very important achievement. So we will have a long-term goal and targets; to get there, then we need to be able to measure progress and that is why we need a robust system for tracking the implementation of our targets because without a system to ensure transparency and accountability, the agreement will not be credible. wn.com/Council Carole Dieschbourg We Adopted A Strong Responsible Eu Mandate For The Cop 21 In Paris
So we will have a long-term goal and targets; to get there, then we need to be able to measure progress and that is why we need a robust system for tracking the implementation of our targets because without a system to ensure transparency and accountability, the agreement will not be credible. (...)"

Senior French ministers gathered for a Defence Council meeting in Paris on Monday to discuss the swiftly developing diplomatic situation concerning international action against Syria.
French President Francois Hollande convened the meeting of ministers, including Prime Minister Jean Marc Ayrault, Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius at the Elysee Palace.
Also in attendance was Admiral Edouard Guillaud, France's Chief of Defence Staff.
A Russian plan for Syria to turn over its chemical weapons to avert Western missile strikes has bogged down after Moscow rejected US and French demands for a binding UN resolution with "very severe consequences" for non-compliance.
The surprise Russian proposal, which Syria and the United States both accepted, would put President Bashar Assad's regime's chemical stockpile under international control before its eventual dismantling.
The initiative, also cautiously endorsed by Britain and France, appeared to offer a way out of a crisis that raised the prospect of US-led military action against Syria in retaliation for an alleged chemical weapons attack last month.
But the plan ran aground as the world powers haggled over the crucial element of how to enforce it.

A United Nations human rights body rebuked France on Friday for its crackdown on the Roma community, and urged Paris to integrate them rather than send them to Eastern Europe.
The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, meeting in Geneva, accused France of targeting the Roma as a collective group, instead of dealing with individual cases on their merits.
"You should not be targeting a group as a whole," declared Pierre-Richard Prosper, the committee's vice chairman.
President Sarkozy has come under strong pressure this over his decision to expel hundreds of Roma and put them on planes to Romania.
The Roma are one of the largest and poorest ethnic minorities in Europe.
French human rights ambassador Francois Zimeray, defending his country's approach, accused the international community of hypocrisy over the issue.
He wanted to know why the UN wasn't spending more time investigating what he described as the discrimination the Roma face in their own country.

EN - Informal meeting of Ministers for the Environment (July 22-23) - Press conference opening remarks by Carole Dieschbourg, Luxembourg Minister for the Environment (Déi Gréng, The Greens in Luxembourgish) & President in charge of the Council of the EU: "How we plan to pave the way to the Paris Climate Agreement" - 23.07.2015 - Luxembourg, Luxembourg.
Carole Dieschbourg: "We'll tell you some about how we plan to pave the way to the Paris Climate Agreement. (...)
Ministers agreed that the EU should show its leadership in the implementation of the environmental aspects of the sustainable development goals. These goals are a tool to strengthen European environmental policy. The sustainable development goals are a reality check for our policies; implementing the sustainable development goals in the EU means that the environment needs to stay high on the agenda and has to be mainstreamed into other policies.
The UN Summit in New York in September will therefore be an important step towards Paris and towards an agreement we all want to have. (...)
We assessed the progress towards an ambitious Paris Agreement, and discussed steps to accelerate negotiations. It is important to highlight that there is convergence on several issues, and it starts to emerge on a political level. For instance, in the field of adaptation to the effects of Climate Change, an issue of particular importance to developing countries. Many delegations highlighted that this momentum needs to be captured also on a technical level of negotiators, which start their next round of discussions at the end of August in Bonn.
Time is getting short towards Paris. (...) The Environment Council will adopt conclusions for the COP 21 Conference on September 18th, when we will meet next, and about the negotiations, Commissioner Cañete will tell us later.
I will make a few points on a 3rd issue we worked on which is essential for the Paris Agreement: it's about Climate Finance. The question we have to deal with is how to finance the transition to a low-emission and climate-resilient economy, supporting developing countries on their pathway. The EU is globally the major contributor to Climate Finance. For instance, we provide almost half of the funding for the Green Climate Fund, half of its fund resource will go to preventing Climate Change and half of it will help developing countries to adapt to Climate Change consequences. (...)
Finance is about both, about public and private finance, and many EU member states also highlighted that political signals are needed to mobilize Climate Finance in particular to leverage private finance with targeted public resources. In this context we discussed the proposal by the Luxembourg Presidency to create a Climate Finance tool box.
A Climate Finance tool box could structure and select the various finance instruments needed to mobilize Climate Finance (...) one could think for example of green bonds, carbon credits, concessional loans, etc. The idea of the box is to come away from having one single pot (...) to transform our economies in a climate-friendly way. (...) ECOFIN ministers will discuss Climate Finance during their formal meeting in September and they will adopt conclusions in the formal ECOFIN in November, ahead of Paris (Conference COP21). (...)"

The Power Elite behind the New World Order
"There does exist, and has existed for a generation, an international Anglophile network which operates, to some extent in the way the radical Right believes the Communist act. In fact, this network, which we may identify as the Round Table Groups [comparable to the CFR in the USA], has no aversion to cooperating with the Communists, or any other groups, and frequently does so. I know of the operation of this network because I...was permitted for two years, in the early 1960s, to examine its papers and secret records." [Professor Carroll Quigley, Tragedy and Hope, p.950]
"At the end of the war of 1914, it became clear that the organization of this system had to be greatly extended... the tasks was entrusted to Lionel Curtis who established, in England and each dominion, a front organization to the existing local Round Table Group. This front organization called the Royal Institute of International Affairs, had as its nucleus in each area the existing submerged Round Table Group. In New York it was known as the Council on Foreign Relations, and was a front for J. P. Morgan and Company.... In fact, the original plans for the Royal Institute of International Affairs and the Council on Foreign Relations were drawn up at Paris." [Carroll Quigley, pp.951-952]
"The powers of financial capitalism has another far reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole." [Quigley, pp.324]
The "wise" Insiders who have been guiding the CFR toward global control include familiar names such as David Rockefeller, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Henry Kissinger, George Shultz, Bill Clinton, Brent Scowcroft.... These men have led and instructed our presidents' cabinets again and again. They and countless others work silently behind the scenes to accomplish their goal of a socialist/communitarian world government. They may call themselves Republican or Democrats; it doesn't really matter. They control the financial resources needed to manipulate the economy and accomplish their goals.
Their tyrannical form of "capitalism" destroys the personal incentive, moral guidelines and free enterprise that made America great.

Megacities - Paris Full Documentary
Megacities uncovers the rapid growth, new forms of spatial density of population, formal and informal economics as well as poverty, crime, and high levels of social fragmentation.
Megacities takes a revolutionary look at the places where most of us live: the modern Metropolis. Megacities focuses on the single aspect of a city's infrastructure which best informs the life and functions of that place. Each city is examined as an organism: living, breathing, and growing. In order to survive, these infrastructures must each function independently, and yet blend into a harmony of man, machine, strategy and system, which defines it as a mega city. Megacities examines the infrastructure of eight iconic locations around the world: Las Vegas, Mexico City, Hong Kong, London, Paris, Sao Paulo, Mumbai and New York. Through dramatic storytelling, unparalleled access and sophisticated computer graphics blended seamlessly with live action, Megacities takes viewers beyond the monuments - and into the machinery - that is the true, living marvel of each mega city.
Paris is the capital and most-populous city of France. Situated on the Seine River, in the north of the country, it is in the centre of the Île-de-France region, also known as the région parisienne, "Paris Region". The City of Paris has an area of 105.4 square kilometres (40.7 square miles) and had a population of 2,241,346 within its city limits in 2014. The Paris Region covers 12,012 square kilometres (4,638 square miles), and has its own regional council and president. It had a population of 12,005,077 as of January 2014, or 18.2 percent of the population of France.
Paris was founded in the 3rd century BC by a Celtic people called the Parisii, who gave the city its name. By the 12th century, Paris was the largest city in the western world, a prosperous trading centre, and the home of the University of Paris, one of the first in Europe. In the 18th century, it was the centre stage for the French Revolution, and became an important centre of finance, commerce, fashion, science, and the arts, a position it still retains today.
The Paris Region had a GDP of €612 billion (US$760 billion) in 2012, accounting for 30.1 percent of the GDP of France, and ranking it as one of the wealthiest five regions in Europe; it is the banking and financial centre of France, and contains the headquarters of 29 of the 31 companies in France ranked in the 2015 Fortune Global 500.
Paris is the home of the most visited art museum in the world, the Louvre, as well as the Musée d'Orsay, noted for its collection of French Impressionist art, and the Musée National d'Art Moderne, a museum of modern and contemporary art. The notable architectural landmarks of Paris include Notre Dame Cathedral (12th century); the Sainte-Chapelle (13th century); the Eiffel Tower (1889); and the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur on Montmartre (1914). In 2014 Paris received 22.4 million visitors, making it one of the world's top tourist destinations. Paris is also known for its fashion, particularly the twice-yearly Paris Fashion Week, and for its haute cuisine, and three-star restaurants. Most of France's major universities and grandes écoles are located in Paris, as are France's major newspapers, including Le Monde, Le Figaro, and Libération.
Paris is home to the association football club Paris Saint-Germain and the rugby union club Stade Français. The 80,000-seat Stade de France, built for the 1998 FIFA World Cup, is located in Saint-Denis. Paris hosts the annual French Open Grand Slam tennis tournament on the red clay of Roland Garros. Paris played host to the 1900 and 1924 Summer Olympics, the 1938 and 1998 FIFA World Cups, and the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
The city is a major rail, highway, and air-transport hub, served by the two international airports Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly. Opened in 1900, the city's subway system, the Paris Métro, serves 9 million passengers daily. Paris is the hub of the national road network, and is surrounded by three orbital roads: the Périphérique, the A86 motorway, and the Francilienne motorway in the outer suburbs.

Zarif says Iran played a central role in dealing with ISIS in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, calls the Paris Conference a 'Coalition of Repenters' and says they created a Frankenstein.
"most participants of the Paris Conference had in one way or another provided support for ISIS in the course of its creation."
Points to the United States of America as a "terrorist magnet" (referring to invasion of Iraq etc.)
Some awkward / questionable answers:
1. Asked about '10-15 year limits on nuclear program", answers: "why not forever?" continues: Iranian people & government representing them are totally distrustful of US intentions. "I'm not surprised if you don't trust ours. ... But please, don't ask us to put all our faith in promises... while your not prepared to accept our promises. Lets establish a mechanism..lets establish a mechanism..not 10, not 15 years... "
2. Asked if there are facilities with nuclear military implications, Zarif answers: "facility in question was searched twice by IAEA, once in 2005, once in 2007/08" where they found nothing. "We said 'this is a military facility, this is off limits to inspections' but they did it & we told them it was the last time, but the problem is, they believe, or in fact, led to believe by important intelligent agencies that there is something! now they show on satellite imagery that is provided by United States & Israel, that 'this is the location that we want to see'. Last time they entered we told them 'go anywhere you want, but know that this is your last time. Don't go back..' because if your 100% sure Iran has something illicit, you search 100 times, you want to ask for 101. We say we'll provide transparency, but under any agreement, under any international monitoring mechanism, military sites are off limits. You can have 1 access, 2 access, but a limited amount of access... It WILL come to the point that IAEA will ask to inspect that place again & at that time... which has not happened YET... we will be having a very serious conversation with them about the limits of this inspection"
