Operation Desert Fox was the code name for a three day air campaign and surgical strikes against Saddam Hussein's Iraqi chemical weapon plants in 1998. The strike was carried out by U.S. and British airpower and employed a combination of Air Force and Naval airpower to take out the chemical weapon facilities. During the 1991 Gulf War, Coalition forces worried about a possible chemical attack by Iraqi forces due to the large stockpile of chlorine, phenol, and VX gases and biological agents possessed by Saddam. Iraq had previously attacked Iran with chemical weapons during the Iraq-Iran war from 1980-88 as well on his indigenous Kurdish population. Iraqi launch vehicles like the SCUD and Al Hussein ballistic missiles had the ability to transport chemical warheads to areas deep into Iran or Israel. At the conclusion of the Gulf War, the U.N. passed a resolution that required weapon inspectors to overlook Saddam's chemical weapon manufacturing and development. Saddam completely ignored the resolution and continued his weapon programs. In 1998, President Bill Clinton passed the Iraqi Liberation Act to forcefully end the Iraqi Chemical weapon program and to cause a regime change in Iraq. In December of 1998, Operation Desert Fox was launched to carry out the destruction of Saddam's chemical arsenal. Commanded by Anthony Zinni, the operation utilized the USS Enterprise and USS Carl Vinson Task Force as well as adjacent Air Force assets on foreign soil.
I used Open Falcon 4.5, a mod for the 1998 Falcon 4.0 to make this reenactment. I used FreeTrack 2.2 and Fraps to record the flight.
I am Habu on the Multiviper's Server and fly F4 Allied Force and Open Falcon 4.5 often. I would be pleased to answer any questions regarding Falcon.

Aircrew aboard the carrier USS Enterprise returned from a fourth night of missions to hear that the strikes against Iraq had been brought to an end.
The aircraft on the vessel had been deeply involved in the strikes against targets inside Iraq - a task that had been carried out without loss to the attackers.
The planes landed on the flight deck of the Enterprise after a final night of action.
In total, more than 300 attack missions were launched from the
Enterprise battle group - about half of the total air strikes from
U.S. and British forces.
Also, more than 325 cruise missiles were fired.
Rear Admiral Cutler Dawson, who commands the Enterprise battle
group, was satisfied by the performance of the group.

"It's stopped because the president has determined that our mission has been accomplished for what we set out to do four days ago. Over the last four days we've launched over 300 tomahawk missiles. We've conducted four days of tactical naval and Marine Corps airs strikes and struck numerous targets in Iraq which now the President has determined is sufficient to accomplish the goals that he set out when we began the mission."

Meanwhile the group of 19 UN staff who pulled out of Iraq on the eve of the air strikes headed for their home countries from Bahrain on Saturday.
They'd been pulled out of Baghdad just hours before United States and Great Britain launched strikes against Iraq.

Bombing of Iraq (1998)
The December 1998 bombing of Iraq (code-named Operation Desert Fox) was a major four-day bombing campaign on Iraqi targets from December 16, 1998, to December 19, 1998, by the United States and United Kingdom. The contemporaneous justification for the strikes was Iraq's failure to comply with United Nations Security Council resolutions and its interference with United Nations Special Commission inspectors.
The operation was a major flare-up in the Iraq disarmament crisis. The stated goal of the cruise missile and bombing attacks was to strike military and security targets in Iraq that contribute to Iraq's ability to produce, store, maintain and deliver weapons of mass destruction. The bombing campaign had been anticipated since February 1998 and incurred wide-ranging criticism and support, at home and abroad.Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates initially announced they would deny U.S. military the use of local bases for the purpose of air strikes against Iraq.

Falcon 4.0
Falcon 4.0 is a combat flight simulator video game released on December 12, 1998 by MicroProse. The game is based around a realistic simulation of the Block 50/52 F-16 Fighting Falcon jet fighter in a full-scale modern war set in the Korean Peninsula. Among many notable features, Falcon 4.0's dynamic campaign engine runs autonomously.
The game is the ultimate development in the Falcon series from Spectrum HoloByte that started in 1984. HoloByte had acquired MicroProse in 1993, and started using that name for all their titles in 1996. After MicroProse was purchased by Hasbro, official development ended. In April 2000 a source code leak allowed continued development of the game, including bug fixes and new campaigns, through the game community itself. Many of these additions were collected by Lead Pursuit, who arranged an official license of the original code base from the owner Atari, and published as Falcon 4.0: Allied Force on June 28, 2005.
The Falcon 4.0 series is one of the longest running game series using the same code base in PC history spanning well over a decade. Falcon 4.0 is also notable for being one of the seldom and earliest known example of a user community taking over a game, enhancing it, maintaining code configuration, and having it re-released as a commercial product several years after the original publication.

Operation Desert Fox was the code name for a three day air campaign and surgical strikes against Saddam Hussein's Iraqi chemical weapon plants in 1998. The strike was carried out by U.S. and British airpower and employed a combination of Air Force and Naval airpower to take out the chemical weapon facilities. During the 1991 Gulf War, Coalition forces worried about a possible chemical attack by Iraqi forces due to the large stockpile of chlorine, phenol, and VX gases and biological agents possessed by Saddam. Iraq had previously attacked Iran with chemical weapons during the Iraq-Iran war from 1980-88 as well on his indigenous Kurdish population. Iraqi launch vehicles like the SCUD and Al Hussein ballistic missiles had the ability to transport chemical warheads to areas deep into Iran or Israel. At the conclusion of the Gulf War, the U.N. passed a resolution that required weapon inspectors to overlook Saddam's chemical weapon manufacturing and development. Saddam completely ignored the resolution and continued his weapon programs. In 1998, President Bill Clinton passed the Iraqi Liberation Act to forcefully end the Iraqi Chemical weapon program and to cause a regime change in Iraq. In December of 1998, Operation Desert Fox was launched to carry out the destruction of Saddam's chemical arsenal. Commanded by Anthony Zinni, the operation utilized the USS Enterprise and USS Carl Vinson Task Force as well as adjacent Air Force assets on foreign soil.
I used Open Falcon 4.5, a mod for the 1998 Falcon 4.0 to make this reenactment. I used FreeTrack 2.2 and Fraps to record the flight.
I am Habu on the Multiviper's Server and fly F4 Allied Force and Open Falcon 4.5 often. I would be pleased to answer any questions regarding Falcon.

The aircraft on the vessel had been deeply involved in the strikes against targets inside Iraq - a task that had been carried out without loss to the attackers.
The planes landed on the flight deck of the Enterprise after a final night of action.
In total, more than 300 attack missions were launched from the
Enterprise battle group - about half of the total air strikes from
U.S. and British forces.
Also, more than 325 cruise missiles were fired.
Rear Admiral Cutler Dawson, who commands the Enterprise battle
group, was satisfied by the performance of the group.
SOUNDBITE (English)
"It's stopped because the president has determined that our mission has been accomplished for what we set out to do four days ago. Over the last four days we've launched over 300 tomahawk missiles. We've conducted four days of tactical naval and Marine Corps airs strikes and struck numerous targets in Iraq which now the President has determined is sufficient to accomplish the goals that he set out when we began the mission."

Operation Desert Fox was the code name for a three day air campaign and surgical strikes against Saddam Hussein's Iraqi chemical weapon plants in 1998. The strike was carried out by U.S. and British airpower and employed a combination of Air Force and Naval airpower to take out the chemical weapon facilities. During the 1991 Gulf War, Coalition forces worried about a possible chemical attack by Iraqi forces due to the large stockpile of chlorine, phenol, and VX gases and biological agents possessed by Saddam. Iraq had previously attacked Iran with chemical weapons during the Iraq-Iran war from 1980-88 as well on his indigenous Kurdish population. Iraqi launch vehicles like the SCUD and Al Hussein ballistic missiles had the ability to transport chemical warheads to areas deep into Iran or Israel. At the conclusion of the Gulf War, the U.N. passed a resolution that required weapon inspectors to overlook Saddam's chemical weapon manufacturing and development. Saddam completely ignored the resolution and continued his weapon programs. In 1998, President Bill Clinton passed the Iraqi Liberation Act to forcefully end the Iraqi Chemical weapon program and to cause a regime change in Iraq. In December of 1998, Operation Desert Fox was launched to carry out the destruction of Saddam's chemical arsenal. Commanded by Anthony Zinni, the operation utilized the USS Enterprise and USS Carl Vinson Task Force as well as adjacent Air Force assets on foreign soil.
I used Open Falcon 4.5, a mod for the 1998 Falcon 4.0 to make this reenactment. I used FreeTrack 2.2 and Fraps to record the flight.

Aircrew aboard the carrier USS Enterprise returned from a fourth night of missions to hear that the strikes against Iraq had been brought to an end.
The aircraft on the vessel had been deeply involved in the strikes against targets inside Iraq - a task that had been carried out without loss to the attackers.
The planes landed on the flight deck of the Enterprise after a final night of action.
In total, more than 300 attack missions were launched from the
Enterprise battle group - about half of the total air strikes from
U.S. and British forces.
Also, more than 325 cruise missiles were fired.
Rear Admiral Cutler Dawson, who commands the Enterprise battle
group, was satisfied by the performance of the group.

"It's stopped because the president has determined that our mission has been accomplished for what we set out to do four days ago. Over the last four days we've launched over 300 tomahawk missiles.
