Peter Pan is a character created by Scottish novelist and playwright J. M. Barrie. A mischievous boy who can fly and who never ages, Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland as the leader of his gang the Lost Boys, interacting with mermaids, Indians, fairies, pirates, and occasionally ordinary children from the world outside of Neverland. In addition to two distinct works by Barrie, the character has been featured in a variety of media and merchandise, both adapting and expanding on Barrie's works.

Peter Pan first appeared in a section of The Little White Bird, a 1902 novel written by Barrie for adults.

The character's best-known adventure debuted on 27 December 1904, in the stage play Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up. The play was adapted and expanded somewhat as a novel, published in 1911 as Peter and Wendy (later as Peter Pan and Wendy, and still later as Peter Pan).

Following the highly successful debut of the 1904 play, Barrie's publishers, Hodder and Stoughton, extracted chapters 13–18 of The Little White Bird and republished them in 1906 under the title Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, with the addition of illustrations by Arthur Rackham.

Mariano Melgar (1791–1815) was a Peruvian patriot, poet, artist, and warrior for the cause of independence from Spain. As a poet, Melgar became one of the most prominent romantic poets of Peru in the 19th century history, best known for his famous poetic love songs known as yaravíes. He is often considered like the Ecuadorian José Joaquín Olmedo and the Cuban José Martí, patriots of their respective countries.

Mariano Melgar was born in Arequipa on August 10, 1790, to Don Juan de Dios Melgar and Doña Andrea de Valdivieso, members of distinguished families of the time. He was baptized two days after birth at Arequipa's San Francisco cathedral. Growing up in Arequipa, he received his early education at the San Francisco convent and the Seminario de San Jerónimo. At a young age he demonstrated a gift for writing poetry and in his later years he was said to have fallen in love with María Santos Corrales, whom he romantically mentioned as Silvia in his poetry writings. The girl was said to be nine years his junior and her parents opposed their relationship.

Fredy Rolando Otárola Peñaranda (born 5 May 1961 in Huaraz) is a Peruvian politician (PNP). He has been a Congressman representing Ancash since 2006.

From 1981 to 1986, Fredy Otárola studied law at the Universidad de San Martín de Porres in Lima. From 1991 to 1993, he was head of the office of public records of Ancash Region. From 1994 to 2006, he has been a lecturer at the National University of Ancash. From 1998 to 2006, he practised as a notary.

In 2006, he was elected to the Congress on the Union for Peru list, representing Ancash. From 2008 to 2009, he was national spokesman of the Peruvian Nationalist Party. In the 2011 general election, he was reelected for another five-year term on the Peru Wins list.
