In September 2014 (4th and 5th) NATO will bring its summit to Wales. The ‘Long March on Newport’ is one of many protests against the summit. Setting out from the Eisteddfod in Llanelli on August 8th marchers walked in relay sections, finding out what people think about NATO and collecting messages to the NATO leaders. The Long March arrived in Newport on 29th August with the message ‘No to War! No to austerity! No to NATO!’. The postcard messages from more than 50 towns and villages along the route will be delivered to the NATO leaders on Thursday 4th August.
