~ www.brosintheknow.com ~ The Ruins of Gobekli Tepe are just over 12,000 years old! 6000 years older than Stonehenge and 7000 years older than the Egyption Pyramids! From its location on the mountain top of "Potbelly Hill", you could see to the horizon in nearly every direction! What a great location to place a monument. Gobekli Tepe was first examined in the 1960s by anthropologists from the University of Chicago and Istanbul but it was dismissed as nothing more than an abandoned medieval cemetery. The site is full of massive T-shaped, stone pillars that tower as high as 16 feet (almost 5 and a half meters high). Some are estimated to weigh between seven and ten tons! There appears to be no evidence to indicate that people permanently resided on the summit of Gobekli Tepe, so some archeologists would say that "This is the first human-built holy place" As stated in Genesis 8 verse 20 "Noah built an altar to the LORD." The first "holy place" created after the flood of biblical proportions. Could this be what Gobekli Tepe is?
