This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Sarah Kenvyn draws attention to the importance and fascination of being a generalist in this 21st century that is full of specialists. She first takes the stage and captivates the audience with a beautiful piece that she has composed with her band, The Craft. Sarah Barnett Burns, also known by her stage name Sarah Kenvyn, is a 4th year neuroscience and cell biology student here at U of T. She is currently doing a 4th year thesis investigating the epigenetic effects of social isolation on the foraging gene in Drosophila, and hopes to continue on to graduate school to study the long term epigenetic effects of early deprivation and stress. When she isn't studying however, she juggles many other roles including being an entrepreneur and a singer/songwriter. Please welcome Sarah Kenvyn with her band The Craft.
