Texas Flood is the debut album of American blues rock band Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, released on June 13, 1983 by Epic Records. The album was named after a cover featured on the album "Texas Flood", recorded by blues singer Larry Davis in 1958. Produced by the band and recording engineer Richard Mullen, it was recorded in only three days at Jackson Browne's personal recording studio in Los Angeles. Vaughan wrote six of the ten tracks on Texas Flood. Two singles were released from the album. A music video was made for "Love Struck Baby" and received regular rotation on MTV in 1983. In 1999, Texas Flood was reissued with five bonus tracks including an interview segment, studio outtake, and 3 live tracks recorded on September 23, 1983 at The Palace, Hollywood, California. In 2013, The album was reissued again, this time with two CDs in celebration of the album's 30th anniversary. Disc 1 is the Original album with one bonus track, Tin Pan Alley, which was first released on the 1999 reissue. Disc 2 is a previously unreleased concert recorded at Ripley's Music Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 20, 1983.
Lash Rushay Huffman (born August 22, 1958) is an American semi-retired professional wrestler. He's better known by his ring name, Stevie Ray. Stevie Ray is best known for his seven-year tenure with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) from 1993 to 2000, where he was one-half of the tag team Harlem Heat, with his younger brother Booker T. Huffman, better known as Booker T. They won the WCW World Tag Team Championship a record ten times.
Lash Huffman started wrestling in 1989 as Super Collider on the independent circuit in Texas. In Ivan Putski's Western Wrestling Alliance, he first started feuding with his brother, Booker (who was G.I. Bro at the time) under the ring name Jive Soul Bro. He began teaming with his brother as Stevie Ray (named after Stevie Ray Vaughan) in a tag team called The Ebony Experience for the Global Wrestling Federation, which was on ESPN. They were faces and feuded with the "Blackbirds" of Iceman King Parsons and Brickhouse Brown. They won the GWF Tag Team Championship three times. Stevie Ray then went on to win the GWF North American Heavyweight Championship in 1993.
Stephen "Stevie" Ray Vaughan (October 3, 1954 – August 27, 1990) was an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. In spite of a short-lived mainstream career spanning seven years, he is widely considered one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of blues music, and one of the most important figures in the revival of blues in the 1980s. AllMusic describes him as "a rocking powerhouse of a guitarist who gave blues a burst of momentum in the '80s, with influence still felt long after his tragic death."
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Vaughan began playing guitar at the age of seven, inspired by his older brother Jimmie. In 1971 he dropped out of high school, and moved to Austin the following year. He played gigs with numerous bands, earning a spot in Marc Benno's band, the Nightcrawlers, and later with Denny Freeman in the Cobras, with whom he continued to work through late 1977. He then formed his own group, Triple Threat Revue, before renaming the band Double Trouble after hiring drummer Chris Layton and bassist Tommy Shannon. He gained fame after his performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1982, and in 1983 his debut studio album, Texas Flood, charted at number 38. The ten-song album was a commercially successful release that sold over half a million copies. After achieving sobriety in late 1986, he headlined concert tours with Jeff Beck in 1989 and Joe Cocker in 1990 before his death in a helicopter crash on August 27, 1990, at the age of 35.
Texas /ˈtɛksəs/ (Spanish: Texas or Tejas [ˈtexas]) is a state in the United States of America. It is the second most populous and second largest state by area in the US. Geographically located in the south central part of the country, Texas shares an international border with Mexico to the south and borders the states of New Mexico to the west, Oklahoma to the north, Arkansas to the northeast, and Louisiana to the east. Texas has an area of 268,820 square miles (696,200 km2) and a growing population of over 27.5 million residents (July 2015).
Houston is the largest city in Texas and the fourth-largest in the United States, while San Antonio is the second largest in the state and seventh largest in the United States. Dallas–Fort Worth and Greater Houston are the fourth and fifth largest United States metropolitan statistical areas, respectively. Other major cities include Austin (the state capital) and El Paso. Texas is nicknamed the Lone Star State to signify Texas as a former independent republic, and as a reminder of the state's struggle for independence from Mexico. The "Lone Star" can be found on the Texan state flag and on the Texan state seal. The origin of the state name, Texas, is from the word, "Tejas", which means 'friends' in the Caddo language.

When Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble first appeared on Austin City Limits in 1983, they were just hitting the national spotlight. After years working the Texas blues circuit, Stevie, bassist Tommy Shannon and drummer Chris Layton scored a slot at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1982. Shortly after Jackson Browne donated his studio to SRV and Double Trouble to record their debut album. And while recording that album, David Bowie, invited Stevie to play on his album Let’s Dance. The band made its ACL debut with the release of Texas Flood, showcasing Stevie’s fiery guitar playing. They returned to ACL in 1989, on the heels of In Step, the strongest record ...

The Foce Spring is in Trevi nel Lazio, near Frosinone, within the Simbruini mountains. This area is very important from a karst point of view as it counts about 134 caves. The cave is not very popular amongst divers, as the water levels make it accessible only for a brief part of the year that goes from May to June, and a few rare occasions in winter. The entrance to the cave is complicated as it's on the bottom of a canyon. Therefore the use of mules to carry the equipment. The cave can be divided into two sections, the first is about 350m (1200 ft) long with an average depth of 5 m (16 ft). It is the part of the cave that is emerged throughout the year and this is why it is rich of speleothems. The second part is the deepest end that is flooded all year round. It's a large white ...
This last Spring I made it down to Texas to attend the first annual Texas STOL Roundup, a fly-in and competition organized by my friend Phil Whittemore. Phil picked me up at Austin International in his Skywagon, and after sampling local taco truck we headed out to his home base at Spicewood airport, which was experiencing uncharacteristically calm winds , and an amazing Blue bonnet explosion. Phil is living the pilot’s dream in that he has 2 airplanes, and in this case they’re both bushplanes, one for going fast and one for going slow. He’d just ferried his new SQ-2 down from Alaska and was having way too much fun practicing for Saturday's competition. It was time for him to gear up though and head to Llano a day early to prep the fly-in. While Phil flew the wagon down to Llano, I drov...
