Manage Your Reading List With BKSHLF

Bookshelf

After a brief hiatus, Shelf Control is back here on AppAdvice. And for its comeback feature, this column shall focus on another noteworthy iOS app for keeping track of books.

The app in question is called BKSHLF. As its vowelless name suggests, BKSHLF lets you manage your bookshelf, albeit in a virtual manner and at a minimal degree. Specifically, it lets you easily keep track of your reading list by categorizing your books, whether physical or electronic, into three shelves: On My List, Reading, or Finished. Boasting an interface that's optimized for iOS 7, BKSHLF also lets you drag books from shelf to shelf la Mailbox.

To add a book to any of the three shelves, you can scan a print book's barcode with your iOS device's camera, or you can simply search by title, author or ISBN through the app's catalog, which is powered by Goodreads.

Speaking of Goodreads, BKSHLF also features syncing integration with the popular social network for bookworms. After linking BKSHLF to your Goodreads account, your On My List, Reading and Finished shelves on BKSHLF are synced both ways with your To-read, Currently Reading and Read shelves on Goodreads, respectively.

BKSHLF also includes book descriptions and links to purchase books on iBooks, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.

Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later, BKSHLF is available in the App Store for free.
