Kyankwanzi District is a district in Central Uganda. The district is named after its 'chief town' of Kyankwanzi.

Kyankwanzi District is bordered by Masindi District to the north, Nakaseke District to the east, Kiboga District to the southeast, Mubende District to the south, Kibaale District to the southwest and Hoima District to the northwest. The district headquarters at Kyankwanzi are located approximately 161 kilometres (100 mi), by road, northwest of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city. The coordinates of the district are:01 12N, 31 48E.

Kyankwanzi District was created by Act of Parliament in July 2010. Prior to then, it was part of Kiboga District. The reasons given to justify the formation of the district, included the long distances that residents had to travel to access district services at Kiboga. The district is subdivided into the following administrative divisions:

The 2002 national census estimated the population of the district at 120,600. The current population of the district is not known, as of January 2011. In 2009, Kyankwanzi District, then known as Kyankwanzi sub-county in Kiboga District, was recorded as the poorest administrative area in Central Uganda, with 38% of the population living on less than US$1.00 a day.

Kyankwanzi is a town in Central Uganda. It is the main municipal, administrative and commercial center of Kyankwanzi District and the district headquarters are located there. The district is named after the town.

Kyankwanzi is located approximately 161 kilometres (100 mi), by road, northwest of Kampala, the capital of Uganda, and the largest metropolitan area in the country. This location is about 40 kilometres (25 mi), by road, north of Kiboga, the nearest large town. The coordinates of the town are:01 12 00N, 31 48 00E (Latitude:1.2000; Longitude:31.8000).

Kyankwanzi was selected to be the headquarters of the newly established Kyankwanzi District, which was created by Act of Parliament and began functioning on 01 July 2010. The town is the location of the National Leadership Institute (NALI), a government-owned institute, tasked with training national leaders in the public service, military, government security organs and willing members of the public.
