Abdullatif A. Al-Bader, President of Kuwait University talks about the major expansion of Kuwait University. The investment value of the project is $525m.
He says, "You see now Kuwait has started, the idea was to build a new campus for Kuwait University which is now being built in the Sabah Al Salem university city and we’re in charge of it and we’re building it. Of course it started slowly because there were indecisions as to what the final project would be. But now since 2011, it’s moving and it will eventually be finished. I’m of the idea that it should be another university, rather than Kuwait University moving there because first of all Kuwait University already has 40,800 students- almost 41,000. That project, even though it’s huge and is much bigger than what we have in this university, it’s designed for 40,000 students although I’m sure it will handle 1000 students no problem if you compare it to this university. "
"If that university campus was to become a new university and it attracted 40,000-60,000 students, it would reduce the load on this university. In my opinion, this university with its facilities it should shrink in size - now it’s 5 campuses, it should remain on just 2 campuses. Leave out the medical campus, that’s an independent one which should be either here in Shuwaikh and only in Shuwaikh. It will have 25,000 students, 15,000 postgraduate students and 10,000 undergraduates." he adds.

Kuwait, officially the State of Kuwait 
i/kuːˈweɪt/ (Arabic: دولة الكويت, Dawlat al-Kuwayt) is a sovereign Arab state situated in the north-east of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia. It is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the south at Khafji, and Iraq to the north at Basra. It lies on the north-western shore of the Persian Gulf. The name Kuwait is derived from the Arabic أكوات ākwāt, the plural of كوت kūt, meaning a fortress built near water. The country covers an area of 17,820 square kilometers (6,880 sq mi) and has a population of about 3.5 million.
Historically, the region was the site of Characene, a major Parthian port for trade between Mesopotamia and India. The Bani Utbah tribe were the first permanent Arab settlers in the region, and laid the foundation of the modern emirate. By the 19th century, Kuwait came under the influence of the Ottoman Empire, and after World War I, it emerged as an independent sheikhdom under the protection of the British Empire. Kuwait's large oil fields were discovered in the late 1930s.

Abdullatif A. Al-Bader, President of Kuwait University talks about the major expansion of Kuwait University. The investment value of the project is $525m.
He says, "You see now Kuwait has started, the idea was to build a new campus for Kuwait University which is now being built in the Sabah Al Salem university city and we’re in charge of it and we’re building it. Of course it started slowly because there were indecisions as to what the final project would be. But now since 2011, it’s moving and it will eventually be finished. I’m of the idea that it should be another university, rather than Kuwait University moving there because first of all Kuwait University already has 40,800 students- almost 41,000. That project, even though it’s huge and is much bigger than what we have in this university, it’s designed for 40,000 students although I’m sure it will handle 1000 students no problem if you compare it to this university. "
"If that university campus was to become a new university and it attracted 40,000-60,000 students, it would reduce the load on this university. In my opinion, this university with its facilities it should shrink in size - now it’s 5 campuses, it should remain on just 2 campuses. Leave out the medical campus, that’s an independent one which should be either here in Shuwaikh and only in Shuwaikh. It will have 25,000 students, 15,000 postgraduate students and 10,000 undergraduates." he adds.

The following stroll past thirteen center strip hotels is about a mile and a half long and is a great way to acclimate yourself to Vegas.

The Barbary Coast opened in 1979 with 150 rooms and still has less than 200. It is one of a dozen Las Vegas casino properties (including Sam’s Town and the Stardust) owned by Boyd Gaming, a publicly owned gaming company that trades on the New York Stock Exchange. With $2 billion in revenues, Boyd Gaming also owns casinos in several other states.
Take note that there is a shuttle pickup area on the Barbary Coast’s south side on Flamingo Avenue (right across from Ballys.) This is where you can get picked to go to other hotels (such as the Rio and Palms) that are west on Flamingo.

The Flamingo is one of four hotels on the Las Vegas center strip owned by Caesars Entertainment.

Steeped in Vegas history, the Flamingo was one of the first hotel/casinos on the strip originally opening on New Year’s eve in 1946.
The 105 room hotel was built on a dusty road in the middle of nowhere by mobster Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel who was murdered six months later. It became the Flamingo Hilton in 1971 before being sold to Caesar’s in 1999. It now has more than 3,500 rooms and one of the best pool areas on the strip.

Originally with 180 rooms, it now has 2,700 rooms which it manages to keep pretty full.

I wholeheartedly believe that every woman should be able to choose whether or not she wants to have an abortion. While I do not think I would ever be able to have one, I don't think that my opinion or view should affect someone else. There are several reasons why a woman may want to have an abortion, all of which are personal. Abortion comes at a great price, and the woman must live with her choice for the rest of her life. If she can accept that, then why shouldn't be allowed to?
There are several reasons why a woman might decide to have an abortion:
1. She was raped and emotionally can't handle being pregnant. In this case, people think that the woman should just suck it up, have the baby, and give the child up for adoption. However, pregnancy is supposed to be a wonderful experience for a woman and should be celebrated. I can't even imagine how awful and traumatic it would be to spend 10 months carrying a child that was the product of rape. To have mixed emotions about the pregnancy and to have to relive the rape every day as you go through each stage of pregnancy. Plus, I think that it is impossible to not feel a bond to your baby as you feel it growing inside of you. PTSD is a real thing, and the woman can't even begin to grieve and move on while having a constant reminder of what happened.
2. It could be too risky for the mother. There are many complications that can arise with a pregnancy, and for some women, these complications are deadly. Yes, they could take the risk and try and bring the baby to term, but not all women want to take that risk. That is a decision that has to be made with the father of the child and the doctor. Maybe the father doesn't want to risk losing the mother of his child as well as the child. Or maybe they already have kids and they don't want them to lose their mother.
3. The woman may be unable to raise a kid. Once again, the baby could be put up for adoption, but that isn't a perfect solution. Being pregnant comes with medical bills and tons of expenses. The mother might be incapable of paying for those bills or she might have other reasons why she doesn't want to give the baby up for adoption.
4. There are too many people in the foster care system. Putting a child up for adoption isn't as simple as it sounds. You can't just decide that you want to give your baby away and instantly have a perfect family waiting by that wants to adopt. Yes, some women find a couple to adopt their baby before it is born, but others do not. The babies that aren't adopted immediately, are put in the system. This system is already overcrowded and struggling to find permanent homes for the kids already in it. The older a child is, the less likely they are to be adopted.
I'm sure there are many other reasons why a woman might decide to have an abortion, but to this day, I have only heard one reason why people think a woman shouldn't have one. Religion. Any time someone says they don't believe in abortions, it is because of their religious beliefs. And it is perfectly acceptable to believe that having an abortion is wrong, but that doesn't make you right. Religious beliefs of any kind should not impact or prevent people from making their own decisions and choices. If you don't believe in abortions, don't have one. But don't try and force your beliefs on someone who isn't interested in them. One viewpoint should never be forced on others and laws should not be passed or vetoed based on religious beliefs and practices. No one is forcing people to have abortions, so no one should force people to not have them.

On July 7th, 2015, The Graduate Student Alliance for Global Health (GSAGH) invited Dr. Hanan El-Sayed Badr, MD, MPH, Dr.PH, Professor in Public Health at Kuwait University and University of Alexandria, to give a talk on the healthcare system in Kuwait.
Abstract:
Despite its relatively small size, Kuwait is one of the world's top producers and net exporters of oil. As a result, Kuwait is a wealthy country and Kuwait city is recognized as one of the top global cities in the Middle East. Kuwait’s Ministry of Health is the owner, operator, regulator, and financier of the vast majority of healthcare services rendered. It has a form universal health coverage that was created first to serve Kuwaiti citizens. But, of its 4 million population, 2.6 million are foreign nationals. To work in the country, these expatriates must arrange for their own health insurance plan that purchases services primarily from the Ministry of Health. This workshop will explore barriers and opportunities for creating universal health care coverage, illustrated by the case of Kuwait city. In particular we will explore the need for equitable access in urban settings if universal health coverage is to be sustainable.

Dr. Hanan El-Sayed Badr (MD, MPH, Dr.PH) is a Professor at the Department of Community Medicine and Behavioral Sciences at Faculty of Medicine in Kuwait University and at the University of Alexandria, Egypt. She is the graduate coordinator for the MPH program that was recently launched at the Faculty of Medicine in Kuwait University. She is also the course coordinator for two graduate-level courses for MPH students, MPH Practicum and Health Promotion. She recently introduced a new MPH course on communication skills that she also coordinates for medical students. Moreover, she teaches health promotion to undergraduate students and public health ethics to all postgraduate students at Kuwait University. In addition to teaching, she supervises medical students' projects required for completing the Community Medicine course.

Dr Peter S. Pennefather, Ph.D (Pharmacology), is a professor at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Toronto. He has expertise in neuroscience, cellular biophysics, health informatics, health systems, global health, drug quality, knowledge media design and data reproducibility. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and three patents. He is cross-appointed in the departments of Physiology, Pharmacology and Institute of Medical Science at UofT.
