By 1879 most of the gold in California was either panned or mined out. New types of industries with modern equipment were about to erupt. Fortunes would be made and lost. As some bring new ideas to the area the passing of the guard would be slow, locals do not like change. This link of the old west and the new age had one thing in common. Kill now sort it out later.
Sue or SUE may refer to:
Selah Sue (born Sanne Putseys, 3 May 1989) is a Belgian musician and songwriter.
Her debut album, Selah Sue (2011) was a major success, selling over 400.000 copies in Europe, 200.000 in France alone. Today, she has chart success with the hit singles 'Raggamuffin', 'Crazy Vibes' and 'This World'.
In 2011, Selah Sue won an European Border Breakers Award (EBBA). In January 2012 during the EBBA award ceremony she was presented with the EBBA Public Choice Award.
Sanne Putseys was born in Leuven, but originates from the nearby Belgian town Leefdaal. At the age of fifteen, Sanne Putseys learned to play the acoustic guitar and started to write her own songs as well. When she was seventeen a Belgian producer asked her to sing some demo's of his songs, after which Universal offered her a contract. She refused, because she wanted to sing her own songs. At the same time she performed as the youngest and only female artist at the open-song contest Open Mic-avond at Het Depot in Leuven. Organizer and singer Milow (born Jonathan Vandenbroeck) had noticed her talents and asked her to perform in his supporting programme. Initially, Sanne Putseys managed to work out her musical career path while studying psychology at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. According to her, studying psychology helped her to understand more about human emotions, which also is something that she has to deal with in her musical activities. Eventually, she continued doing warm-up performances in collaboration with artists such as Jamie Lidell in London and Paris. Furthermore, she played with the Belgian band Novastar at the Paradiso in Amsterdam.
John R. "Johnny" Cash (February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003), was an American singer-songwriter, actor, and author, who has been called one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. Although he is primarily remembered as a country music icon, his songs and sound spanned many other genres including rockabilly and rock and roll—especially early in his career—as well as blues, folk, and gospel. This crossover appeal led to Cash being inducted in the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
Cash was known for his deep, distinctive bass-baritone voice; for the "boom-chicka-boom" sound of his Tennessee Three backing band; for his rebelliousness, coupled with an increasingly somber and humble demeanor; for providing free concerts inside prison walls; and for his dark performance clothing, which earned him the nickname "The Man in Black". He traditionally started his concerts by saying, "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash." and usually following it up with his standard "Folsom Prison Blues".
Alfred Matthew "Weird Al" Yankovic (pronunciation: /ˈjæŋkəvɪk/; born October 23, 1959) is an American singer-songwriter, music producer, accordionist, actor, comedian, writer, satirist, and parodist. Yankovic is known for his humorous songs that make light of popular culture and that often parody specific songs by contemporary musical acts. Since his first-aired comedy song in 1976, he has sold more than 12 million albums (as of 2007), recorded more than 150 parody and original songs, and has performed more than 1,000 live shows. His works have earned him three Grammy Awards among nine nominations, four gold records, and six platinum records in the United States. Yankovic's first top ten Billboard album (Straight Outta Lynwood) and single ("White & Nerdy") were both released in 2006, nearly three decades into his career.
Yankovic's success comes in part from his effective use of music video to further parody popular culture, the song's original artist, and the original music videos themselves, scene-for-scene in some cases. He directed later videos himself and went on to direct for other artists including Ben Folds, Hanson, Black Crowes, and The Presidents of the United States of America. In addition to recording his albums, Yankovic wrote and starred in the film, UHF, and television show, The Weird Al Show. He has also made guest appearances on many television shows, in addition to starring in Al TV specials on MTV.
Charles Hardin Holley (September 7, 1936 – February 3, 1959), known professionally as Buddy Holly, was an American singer-songwriter and a pioneer of rock and roll. Although his success lasted only a year and a half before his death in an airplane crash, Holly is described by critic Bruce Eder as "the single most influential creative force in early rock and roll." His works and innovations inspired and influenced contemporary and later musicians, notably The Beatles, Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, Don McLean, Bob Dylan, and Eric Clapton, and exerted a profound influence on popular music. Holly was among the first group of inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Holly #13 among "The Fifty Greatest Artists of All Time".
Charles Hardin Holley was born on September 7, 1936, in Lubbock, Texas, to Lawrence Odell and Ella Pauline (Drake) Holley. In Philip Norman's biography it is stated that his mother's family claimed to be descended from the English navigator Francis Drake.
What can we do about you, sue
I'd do anything for you
Can't you see
That you're better than them
You build your life around us, sue
You want to fix us when your blue
I know your better than this
All the guys they want you
But you gotta watch yourself
What can we do about you, sue
Just tell me anything
Just open up and tell me why
And i won't say no word
I won't tell anyone
I won't repeat a thing
Just ask me what i think
Cause i love you
All the guys they want you
But you gotta watch yourself
What can we do about you, sue
I got you figured out
I know a secret
And i feel like a king without a queen
If only you could know
How you effect the ones you meet
Nothing less than insame
All the guys they want you
But you gotta watch yourself
What can we do about you, sue
What can we do about you, sue
I'd do anything for you
Can't you see
You're better than them
You build your life around us, sue
You want to fix us when your blue
I know your better than this
So all the guys they want you
But you gotta watch yourself
What can we do about you...
He likes vampires and hit list radio
But turns it off when he hears this one song he knows
And you breathe the windows down
Your driving out far as you make your way bake home
Ride in silence because he will not let go
And you breathe the windows down
It's a new place that you have found
Chorus
How did I play writing books
All about heroes and crooks
One of them saves you from this
The other one steals you and then, sure, things, fall
And all sure things fall.
Do you remember how we used to get so high
It didn't work at first we tried it two more times
And we could breathe the windows down
I was thinking bout the temperature out side
Cool like the water that was running from our eyes
And we could breathe the windows down
It's a new place that we have found
Chorus
He can take you all the way to church this time
But don't forget you summed it up in 50 lines
How did I play writing books
All about heroes and crooks
One of them saves you from this
The other one steals you
Of all of the places I looked
And all of the pictures I took
One of them's here with me now
Finally finding out how, sure, things, fall
All sure things fall.
i know a girl, her name is sue
she says she really digs making love to you
here she comes
all alone she lives on my street
no jacket on her back or shoes on her feet
and it's cool
she tries so hard to stop her pain
as she sticks a dirty needle in to her vein
here we go
i am so sorry, what i did to you
i didn't mean to hurt you, no, little sue
