A valediction (derivation from Latin vale dicere, 'to say farewell'), or complimentary close in American English, is an expression used to say farewell, especially a word or phrase used to end a letter or message, or the act of saying parting words- whether brief, or extensive.
For the greetings counterpart to valediction, see salutation.
Alternatively, valediction can refer to the final prayers and remarks at the graveside before burial given by the presiding priest, after the Mass and the rite of Final Commendation, during a Roman Catholic Funeral Service.
Valedictions normally immediately precede the signature in written correspondence. The word or words used express respect, esteem, or regard for the person to whom the correspondence is directed, and the exact form used depends on a number of factors — including:
Conventions also change over time and differ according to language.
English valedictions typically contain the possessive pronoun "yours". "Yours faithfully", "Yours truly", or "Yours sincerely" (or its American English variant, "Sincerely yours"). Earlier style closings were usually much longer, and often a complete sentence.
Maureen Reillette "Rebbie" Brown (née Jackson; born May 29, 1950) is an American singer professionally known as Rebbie Jackson ( /ˈriːbi ˈdʒæksən/). Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, she is the eldest child of the Jackson family of musicians. She first performed on stage with her siblings during shows in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in 1974, before subsequently appearing in the television series The Jacksons.
At age 34, Jackson released her debut album Centipede (1984). The album featured songs written by Smokey Robinson, Prince and her younger brother Michael, whose contribution (the title track "Centipede") became Rebbie's most successful single release. By the end of the 1980s, the singer had released two more albums in quick succession: Reaction (1986) and R U Tuff Enuff (1988).
Following a 10-year hiatus in her musical career, Jackson returned with the 1998 album Yours Faithfully. The production of the album, her last to date, had the singer collaborate with artists and producers such as Men of Vizion's Spanky Williams, Keith Thomas and Eliot Kennedy. It also featured contributions from her children. Nathaniel Brown is Jackson's husband and the two have been married since 1968. Rebbie recently returned to music in 2010 with her new compilation, "Centipede/Reaction," which features her first two albums together on CD for the first time. In 2011, Rebbie embarked on the "Pick Up The Phone Tour," which is dedicated to teens who have committed suicide all over the U.S. It was also reported that she is working on new album.
Arnel Pineda (born September 5, 1967) is a Filipino singer-songwriter who has served as the lead singer of the American rock band Journey since 2007. Pineda has had a successful musical career in the Philippines for the last 25 years.
Arnel Pineda was born in Sampaloc, Marikina Sampaloc, Manila, in the Philippines. His mother instilled his love for singing at an early age, encouraging him to sing along to songs from his favorite singers like Karen Carpenter and Barbra Streisand. Growing up, his parents entered him in many singing contests.
His mother, who had been suffering from heart disease, died when he was thirteen. Her illness had left their family deep in debt. Being 6 months or one year behind on their rented apartment and unable to sufficiently provide for the family, his father decided to move out and ask relatives to take in Pineda's siblings. To ease his father's burden, Pineda quit school and volunteered to strike out on his own.
About two years of his life were spent out on the streets, sleeping wherever he could: in public parks, or on a narrow bench outside a friend's crowded house. He earned meager money by collecting glass bottles, newspapers, and scrap metal and selling them to recyclers. He would also go to the pier with his friends and take on odd jobs like cleaning scrap metal and docked ships. He didn't have much to eat, sometimes rationing a small package of Marie biscuit as his meal for two days.
Taking over me now
There are many different stories to be heard
There are many different people living in this world
But behind my eyes there lives a dream
I see your face at my door
every time I know I need nothing more
I'll follow you
With every step
I will follow you with each breath
that I'll take
See my eyes you're taking me
You're taking over me
Some are pushing themselves hard not knowing why
Some are wandering around and living in a lie
But behind their doubtful mind I see
They're trying to find the key
And I used to be like that not anymore
I have finally reached my turning point
'cause behind your eyes I saw myself
so different from what I knew
saw myself that i could be all to you
To whom it may concern, there's something you should know.
The one's you trust are liars. Deception works both ways but they're taking this too far.
No one seems to care.
We're all too content with the price upon our heads. When questions are left to gather dust.
(We are..) We are the conspiracy.
So when was the last time that you saved us from ourselves?
Just bury your head and believe that you are safe, as storms rage above you and time wastes away.
No one seems to care.
We're all too content with the price upon our heads. When questions are left to gather dust.
(We are..) We are the conspiracy.
(Instumental)
I've heard this story told so many ways. (x2)
No one seems to care.
We're all too content with the price upon our heads. When questions are left to gather dust.
(We are the conspiracy).
Miss you more than ever
I will wait forever (I will wait)
Until we are together
Trust in yours faithfully (Hey)
My love every time I hear our favorite song
Tellin' me a house is not a home
I learned that it's true
Just being without you
Now I know what love is all about
And I know for certain, there's no doubt
I guess you know how foolish hearts can be
But baby, that's not me
Miss you more than ever
I will wait forever
Until we are together
Trust in yours faithfully
No need to worry
People are lonely
Baby, I will be yours only
Always yours faithfully (Hey)
I know, even though the time's not on our side
I believe the future will be bright
'Cause our love is enough
To keep me lookin' up
Wanna let you know that things are fine
Not a moment you're not on my mind
I'll be savin' all my love for you
And that's the honest truth
Miss you more than ever
I will wait forever
Until we are together
Trust in yours faithfully
No need to worry (No need to worry)
People are lonely
Baby, I will be yours only
Always yours faithfully
Now I know what love is all about
And I know for certain, there's no doubt
I guess you know how foolish hearts can be
But baby, that's not me
Miss you more than ever
I will wait forever
Until we are together
Trust in yours faithfully
No need to worry
People are lonely
Baby, I will be yours only
Always yours faithfully
Miss you more than ever (Ooh)
I will wait forever
Until we are together
Trust in yours faithfully
No need to worry (No need to worry)
People are lonely
Baby, I will be yours only
Always yours faithfully
Miss you more than ever
I will wait forever
Until we are together
