Three Branches Oaked Imperial Red
Lake Bluff Brewing Co., 16 E. Scranton Avenue, Lake Bluff, IL 224-544-5179
To create this beverage, three factions of the brewery came together: Rodd and Dave, the founders of Lake Bluff Brewing Co, Mike Dorneker, the Master Brewer, and Pato Thornycroft the manager, all united to create the upcoming brew. Three Branches, an Oaked Imperial Red, was named for the three branches of Governance at Lake Bluff Brewing Co (the owners, the producer, and the retailer) and conditioning with Oak Chips.
The flavor profile of Three Branches is a blend of a huge caramelly sweet malt body alongside slight tangerine and earthy flavors from Summit hop bittering. The finish cloaks some of the maltiness with a strong oak flavor from conditioning the beer with French Oak Chips. The high alcohol content will contend with the massive explosions from any firework show, as this specialty beer will be available for Half Growler Fills on the 4th of July. The taproom will open early for the parade, and stay open late enough for growler fills for the rest of the festivities.
