Jiro Dreams of Sushi

About this episode

Jiro Ono is considered the world's greatest sushi chef. He runs Sukiyabashi Jiro, a 10-seat restaurant inauspiciously located in a Tokyo subway station. Despite its humble appearance, it is the first restaurant of its kind awarded a prestigious three-star Michelin review and sushi lovers from around the globe make repeated pilgrimages, calling months in advance and shelling out top dollar. At the heart of the story is 85-year-old Jiro's relationship with his eldest son Yoshikazu, heir to Jiro's legacy, and his inability to live up to his full potential in his father's shadow.
