Ann Kathryn Turkel (born July 16, 1946) is an American actress and was a model. Turkel studied acting at the Musical Theatre Academy.
Turkel was born in New York City, New York, to a Jewish family. She was photographed for American Vogue in the early 1980s. Patrick Lichfield captured images of her on location in England, the Bahamas, and Sardinia during the early 1970s, and included them in his 1981 book, The Most Beautiful Women.
After a brief appearance in the film Paper Lion (1968), her first major role was in the 1974 film, 99 and 44/100% Dead starring her future husband Richard Harris, and they also acted together in The Cassandra Crossing (1976), Golden Rendezvous (1977) and Ravagers (1979). They were divorced in 1982. Despite their divorce she and Harris remained good friends. When Harris died in 2002, Turkel was quite saddened, and said he was her mentor and a good friend.
She portrayed comic strip heroine, Modesty Blaise, in a 1982 TV pilot.
Her other film roles included Portrait of a Hitman (1979), with Jack Palance, and the horror films Humanoids from the Deep (1980), Deep Space (1988) and The Fear (1995). She also played the role of modeling agent and immortal Kristen in "Chivalry," a season four episode of Highlander: The Series.
Humanoids from the Deep, also known as Monster in Europe and Japan, is a 1980 American science fiction monster movie starring Doug McClure, Ann Turkel, and Vic Morrow. Roger Corman served as the film's uncredited executive producer and his company New World Pictures distributed it. Humanoids from the Deep was directed by Barbara Peeters (also called Barbara Peters) and its musical score was composed by James Horner.
Anglers from the fishing village of Noyo, California catch what appears to be a monster. The young son of one of the anglers falls into the water and something unseen drags him under the surface. Another angler prepares a flare gun but he slips and accidentally fires it into the deck, which is soaked with gasoline dropped earlier by the boy. The vessel bursts into flames and explodes; everybody aboard is killed. Jim Hill (McClure) and his wife Carol witness the explosion. Later, Jim and Carol's dog goes missing and the pair finds its dismembered corpse on the nearby beach.
Douglas Osborne "Doug" McClure (May 11, 1935 – February 5, 1995) was an American actor whose career in film and television extended from the 1950s to the 1990s. He is best known for his role as the cowboy Trampas during the entire run from 1962 to 1971 of the NBC western television series, The Virginian, loosely based on the Owen Wister novel.
McClure was born in Glendale, California. His English mother, Clara Elsie (née Barker; 1907–1997), had moved to the United States from her native United Kingdom in 1915, when her widowed mother married an American, Frank S Artman. Clara Barker was naturalized as an American citizen in 1918, and married Irish-American Donald Reed McClure (1904–1965) in 1929. Donald and Clara were parents to Donald Reed McClure, Jr. (1931–2003) and then Doug. The widow Clara would marry Frank Clapp in 1971.
McClure's acting career included such films as The Enemy Below, The Unforgiven, and Because They're Young, before landing the part of Trampas on The Virginian – a part that would make him famous. He also starred:
The Tonight Show is an American late-night talk show broadcast from the Rockefeller Center in New York City and airing on NBC since 1954. It is the world's longest-running talk show, and the longest running, regularly scheduled entertainment program in the United States. It is the third-longest-running show on NBC, after only the news-and-talk shows Today and Meet the Press.
Over the course of more than 60 years, The Tonight Show has undergone only minor title changes. It aired under the name Tonight for several of its early years, eventually settling on The Tonight Show after the seating of long-time host Johnny Carson in 1962. In later decades, network programmers, advertisers, and the show's announcers would refer to the show by including the name of the host; for example, it is currently announced as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In 1957, the show briefly tried a more news-style format. It has otherwise remained a talk show throughout its run.
The Tonight Show began broadcasting in 1954. It has had six official hosts, beginning with Steve Allen (1954–57), followed by Jack Paar (1957–62), Johnny Carson (1962–92), Jay Leno (1992–2009, 2010–14), Conan O'Brien (2009–10), and Jimmy Fallon (2014–present). It has had several recurring guest hosts, a practice especially common during the Paar and Carson eras.
Victor "Vic" Morrow (February 14, 1929 – July 23, 1982) was an American actor and director whose credits include a starring role in the 1960s television series Combat!, prominent roles in a handful of other television and film dramas, and numerous guest roles on television. Morrow and two child actors were killed in 1982 by a stunt helicopter crash during the filming of Twilight Zone: The Movie.
Morrow was born Victor Morozoff in the New York City borough of the Bronx, to a middle-class Jewish family, the son of Jean (née Kress) and Harry Morozoff, an electrical engineer. When he was 17, Morrow dropped out of high school and joined the United States Navy.
In 1958, Morrow married actress and screenwriter Barbara Turner, with whom he had two daughters: Carrie Ann Morrow (b. 1958) and actress Jennifer Jason Leigh (b. 1962). Morrow's marriage to Barbara lasted seven years and ended in divorce in 1964 or 1965. Morrow did not remarry until 1975, over a decade later, when he courted Gale Lester (currently Gale Morrow Butler). They were married for five years and were separated just prior to Morrow's death.
In the sleepy fishing village of Noyo, the fish aren't biting -- and that's the problem. The town's faltering economy, dependent entirely on the fishing industry, has exacerbated ongoing, racially-charged tensions between the local fishermen, who want a cannery to be constructed in the town, and the Native American population, who most definitely don't. But something else is biting -- and worse. A genetic experiment on salmon has produced a species of aquatic monstrosities that are half-man and half-fish ... and constantly on the rampage! The body count is rising. Men are being mauled to death, but the female victims suffer a far worse fate: The monsters are mating with them, trying to propagate their horrific species. Local fisherman Jim Drake (Doug McClure) and scientist Susan Dr...
