The run of nasty weather is set to continue for a while yet with snow falling in places across the region and strong to gale force winds included in the forecast.
The Bureau advises that a strong cold front moved through eastern New South Wales yesterday with a cold westerly airflow in its wake. A deep, complex low near Tasmania will pass to the south of NSW today, maintaining strong to gale force west to southwesterly winds over the southeast of the state. The low will move steadily to the southeast tomorrow, over the Southern Tasman Sea, as a high pressure ridge begins to develop over western NSW.
Damaging, gale-force winds averaging 60 to 65 km/h with gusts of about 100 km/h are forecast for the Illawarra, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains forecast districts and for parts of the Hunter, South Coast and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts. Gales are expected to become much more localised tonight then ease early tomorrow morning.

Alpine peaks may experience winds of 70 km/h, with peak gusts of 110 km/h.
Blizzard conditions are expected for the Alpine areas of the Snowy Mountains forecast district above 900 metres.
Nowra reported a wind gust of 104 km/h at 3:20am.
Thredbo Top Station reported a wind gust of 109 km/h at 2:30 am.
Mt Boyce reported a wind gust of 100 km/h at 10:04am.
Moss Vale reported a wind gust of 93 km/h at 1:45 am.
Perisher Valley reported a wind gust of 90 km/h at 1:00 am.
Bellambi reported a wind gust of 98 km/h just after midnight Sunday morning.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
► Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
► Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
► Keep clear of fallen power lines.
