Keith Urban’s guitar has Jackson strumming | VIDEO

A YOUNG Keith Urban fan is feeling “stoked” after getting a signed guitar from the man himself.

Jackson Kay, 9, was handed the instrument by Urban, who had been playing among the crowd at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Friday.

A video uploaded to YouTube shows an ecstatic Jackson patting Urban on the back and raising his arm in the air, all shown on the big screen.

“I didn’t know what was happening when he gave me the guitar,” the Corowa boy said yesterday.

“I felt really happy.

“It was a bit freaky, though, because I was on the big screen.”

Fans took photos with the Corowa Public School student and the custom-made guitar as he left the stadium.

Jackson, who has played guitar for 18 months, also played songs for audience members while waiting for a taxi after the performance.

“I’m going to keep it in my room and look after it,” he said.

“I want to be the next Keith Urban.

“I rang my guitar teacher on Saturday morning and he said he was jealous.”

His mother, Sheridan, said Jackson had been left shaking with excitement.

“It’s an experience he will remember for the rest of his life,” she said.

“I was so happy for him to experience that.

“As Keith went past I touched him on the arm and said thanks, and he looked at me and smiled.”

Mrs Kay said she stopped to buy a guitar case on the way home from the concert.

“Jackson’s learning to play the guitar and he’s doing very well,” she said.

“It’s going to be an asset that he can learn with.”

The Australia leg of Urban’s "Light the Fuse Tour" finished in Perth last night.
