The Borderless World Foundation (bwf) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, registered organization based in Pune, Maharashtra. Established in March 2002, bwf aims to provide a 'Humane Touch' to the border areas of India and beyond. The bwf family is an open circle of people with a 'change-begins-with-me' approach to this cause.
The thought behind bwf originated in 1998 when the founders (Bharti Mamani & Adik Kadam) started work at the grassroots level in the conflict-ridden frontier district of Kupwara in Kashmir. Their first hand experience of the human tragedy made them aware of the fact that the people of a nation often do not realise that their border areas function as the 'shock absorbers' of the country, and that life for the people in these areas is far from normal – it's full of uncertainty. Loss of lives, violence, fear and chaos are the order of the day. Socio-economic stagnancy, corruption and civil administrative breakdown affect all walks of life. Scores of thousands of children have been orphaned due to violence; close to a million of them have dropped out of their childhood.
With its prime focus on geographically remote and disadvantaged border areas, bwf launched its rehabilitation projects in the frontier districts of Kupwara, Budgam, and Anantnag. A Home for girl children of the displaced families living in Jammu was started in august 2009. With the hope of making a positive difference to more lives, bwf intends to reach out to other districts and areas in Kashmir, Jammu, and Ladhakh. Bwf hopes to go to the north-eastern states and to any area beyond India that calls for collective, voluntary action.
Our focus areas are: Health Care, Education, Rehabilitation of Orphans & Widows, Women Empowerment, Migrants & Refugees, and Empowerment through Employment.

"What is Metal Gear?"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Metal Gear is a series of action-adventure stealth video games, created by Hideo Kojima and developed and published by Konami. The first game, Metal Gear, was released in
1987 for the MSX2. The player takes control of a special forces operative Solid Snake who is assigned to find the titular superweapon "Metal Gear", a bipedal walking tank
with the ability to launch nuclear weapons. Several sequels have been released for multiple consoles after requests from Konami to produce new Metal Gear games. The sequels
expand the original game's plot adding new characters opposing and supporting Snake, while there have also been a few prequels exploring the origins of the Metal Gear and
recurring characters.
The series is famous for pioneering the stealth game genre, in which the character initially has only one weapon and has to go through the game to accomplish his mission by
himself. Other notable traits are cinematic cut scenes, intricate storylines, offbeat humor and exploration of political and philosophical themes. The game franchise has sold
over 30 million copies worldwide, with individual installments being critically acclaimed and receiving several awards."

You’re interested in life in another country, but how really do you make the best decision as to where? If you’re overwhelmed by the dizzying sources of information, we think you’ll love this week’s Borderless Podcast. We talk with Josh Linnes of Viva Tropical. Originally from the US, he started out looking for new and better places to surf, but starting a family brought a new perspective. It wasn’t long before he and business partner Park Wilson went on exploratory adventures throughout Central America that led to their deep understanding of it as a real estate investment. They share their insights by refusing to resort to the typical travel magazine hype, and instead giving you a framework for profitable investing abroad. Bottom line? They help you find what’s actually right for you.

Andrew recaps the US mid-term elections and explains why nothing will change in The Land of the Free… no matter who many Republicans, Democrats, or Whigs get elected.
01:39 The US midterm elections are over with Republicans taking control of the Senate and gaining ground in the House of Representatives. Andrew thinks many so-called “freedom loving” voters may think lower taxes and more freedom are on the way.
02:54 The entire political process is a total sham that no political party can fix.
03:06 Don’t expect lower taxes in the next two years.
04:08 Republicans won’t stop wealth confiscation, high regulations, or the ongoing war on freedom of speech. Republicans winning won’t change anything and they admit it; it’s all about control.
04:44 No matter what the Tea Party says, Republican candidates look just like third world oligarchs, with candidates like Ed Gillespie.
06:15 Florida Governor Rick Scott spent $70 million to buy his first election, another example of oligarchy and buying elections.
08:00 Republicans and Mitch McConnell started the deficit problem when George W. Bush was president.
09:00 At least Barack Obama is somewhat honest about loving socialism.
11:05 Last time Republicans were in power, they barely even lowered personal income taxes. 39.6% to 35%?… whoopee! Plus, they took millions off the tax rolls only for them to say the rich weren’t paying their “fair share”.
12:50 Your patriotism is causing you to have faith in a broken political system.
13:16 George W. Bush’s administration used the IRS to target political enemies the same way Lois Lerner and company targeted Tea Party groups.
15:14 Expatriating does not make you an evil traitor or unpatriotic.
15:34 No one can fix the insolvent banks or the bankrupt FDIC.
17:07 The US has so many business regulations that can never be repealed.
18:06 Tickets to Passport to Freedom are going up very soon.
19:40 Andrew talks about traveling overseas for the first time and seeing for the first time just how wrong the US media and government propaganda is.
21:05 The 10 worst states to live in. These states make you ask, “Who won the Cold War?” PIIGS countries have higher disposable income than these poor states that include high unemployment and even low access to broadband internet.
22:04 Only half of New Mexico can get broadband internet. Andrew says that sounds almost third world.
23:39 Some Americans might as well live in Myanmar.
23:41 The “best” states to live in, such as New York, the US have very high taxes.
25:15 Portugal’s Golden Visa second residency program brought immigrant investors, but the US government won’t create a similar program because they don’t value capital. Smaller countries are better.
26:15 Bosnian banks won’t take foreign capital, but should.
28:13 Twenty-five years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, much of the US looks like East Berlin. Are 26 horsepower cars next for the increasingly poor westerners?
30:15 Would people in Mississippi vote to keep wealthy Chinese investors out? (Canada did)
32:14 Is having a Panama passport worth it? Could you renounce your US citizenship with it?
32:37 Why Malaysia “gets it”.
33:13 EU countries that can’t get visa-free access to the United States.
33:46 New EU regulations on businesses collecting VAT. Luxembourg’s tax advantages are being taken away.
35:54 Countries are marginalizing low tax countries and forcing them to adhere to stupid laws the same way California legislators make products more expensive for the entire US.
37:22 Where to set up an offshore company if you must do so in Europe. Andrew talks about forming a Gibraltar company.
39:37 Stephanie Murphy and Natalie Sisson both have controversial opinions, and why the NYC catcalling video turned out to be a scam.
40:13 The easiest second passport to get for westerners. Hint: try Panama, but don’t be afraid to get started.
41:31 The low cost of obtaining citizenship by descent in Italy or Ireland, Poland, or Greece.
42:27 Our contact for getting your ancestral passport in The Nomad Society.
44:05 New FATCA style tax sharing law is passed. The best offshore banks are largely off limits to US citizens. Andrew discusses Peter Schiff’s Euro Pacific Bank in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as Hermes Bank in the Caribbean.

Borderless Jihad: The Charlie Hebdo Case and the Evolving Terrorist Threat in the Mediterranean
Islamic terrorism is the foremost security issue facing the Mediterranean region today. Radicalization has hit unprecedented levels as jihadis flock to and from conflict zones and security forces struggle to contain an anarchic and protean threat. A look at the group behind the attacks on the Charlie Hebdo magazine in France this year offers a case study of that threat: causes, evolution and potential responses. The Charlie Hebdo attackers were part of a group of a dozen childhood friends from the Buttes-Chaumont neighborhood of northeast Paris, most from North African origins. The militant became well-known to security forces starting in the mid-2000s when many were jailed as part of an amateurish network sending foreign fighters to U.S.-occupied Iraq. A decade later, they nonetheless emerged as front-line figures wreaking havoc from Paris to Tunisia, where one of the Paris militants assassinated leaders of the political opposition, to Syria, where several play significant roles in the Islamic State. The grim trajectory of the Buttes-Chaumont crew reveals the forces that nurture terror today: weak prison sentencing policies, intelligence breakdowns, personal bonds forged in jails and housing projects, and the overwhelming reach of social media. Violent people and ideas flow back and forth across the Mediterranean with a speed and power that required better cooperation and communication between Europe and its southern neighbors.

David Brewster, Founder, The New Pacific
"""The New Pacific invites you to look at your region in a different way, to become citizens of an imaginary country—‘Cascadia', if you will. Instead of two moderate-sized states and an expansive province, picture an area with a combined land mass of over 529,000 square mile —more than three times the size of California."" (The New Pacific)
The changing global order means a new economic reality for the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. The region, until recently considered an outpost, is fast becoming a crossroads, with important links to the international community. As the Northwest comes of age, opportunities for regional cooperation are growing.
Today's speaker, David Brewster, is at the center of the regional movement. In his quarterly, The New Pacific, Brewster calls for mapping a borderless society, a Cascadia of the mind that will unite Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia, and particularly their largest cities. Such a future is not dissimilar from our past, Brewster argues. The Oregon Territory once included both Oregon and Washington, and the entire region is tied together by a similar heritage and environment.
In the fifth program of the Fast Forward to 2000 series, Brewster will discuss the new regional consciousness that he sees emerging, and the economic, educational, and cultural advantages to be gained from the creation of a ""megastate"". He will also talk about why the new regionalism is viewed with more skepticism in Portland than it is in Seattle or Vancouver, and explore Portland's reluctance to join in.
Brewster founded The New Pacific last year. He is a former journalist with the Seattle Times, founder and editor of the Seattle Weekly, and editor of Northwest Best Places. Brewster is a graduate of Yale, and a former assistant professor of English at the University of Washington."
