While global malaria mortality rates have been slashed by more than 40% since the year 2000, the disease still claims more than half a million lives every year, mostly among pregnant women and young children, living in sub-Saharan Africa. The video, co-signed by UNDP and the Roll Back Malaria Partnership, shows young Didier Drogba and his friends in Cote d'Ivoire playing football outside their homes and fighting mosquitos that carry the malaria parasite. "I have been a victim of malaria and have witnessed first-hand the devastating effects it has on individuals and families," said Drogba." Luckily I was treated in time and that saved my life. Today we have effective and affordable tools to prevent, diagnose and treat malaria. But we have to work together to make sure everyone has access to them." UNDP and the Roll Back Malaria Partnership have recently released a framework for engaging multiple sectors,- education, agriculture, water and land use and others - to ensure sustainability and cost-efficiency in the fight against malaria. UNDP Administrator Helen Clark said investments in malaria control directly support a country's economic growth and human development. "Reducing and ultimately eliminating malaria has a powerful impact on various sectors in malaria-endemic countries. These include economic development, education, tourism, agriculture and infrastructure, among others". Fatoumata Nafo-Traoré, Executive Director of Roll Back Malaria, said the fight against malaria has proven to be among the best buys in global health. "It allows the world's most vulnerable people to live healthier and more productive lives and to build a more prosperous future for themselves and their children," she said. Didier Drogba is the captain and all-time top scorer of the Côte d'Ivoire national football team. Born in Abidjan , Drogba spent his childhood in his native Côte d'Ivoire and his adopted country, France. Didier Drogba was voted best all time Chelsea player and has played until this year with Galatasaray (Istanbul), in the Turkish league. Since he became a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador in January 2007, he has been actively raising awareness of Africa's challenges and efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). "I am very happy that this video can be shown globally", said Didier Drogba. "Using the popularity of football to increase awareness will help us to win the match against malaria. We hope our fans will join us." Andreas Klalcker nos presentará un nuevo descubrimiento médico acerca de la utilización del dióxido de cloro con posibilidades curativas mas allá de la imaginación convencional. Sus efectos beneficiosos se descubrieron por casualidad y ahora están siendo estudiados por médicos y científicos. Estos efectos abarcan desde la cura de la malaria a la de múltiples enfermedades, incluidos algunos tipos de cáncer.
ANDREAS LUDWIG KALCKER Doctor en Biofísica, aunque las palabras que mejor le definen son las de investigador y científico.
Miembro fundador de la ONG Earth Help Project, con sede en Berlín, Alemania. Su objetivo es ayudar al Tercer Mundo en temas de energía alternativa, agua potable y salud. Trabajó, en los años 90, en el Centro de Nuevas Tecnologías de Barcelona (Cerdanyola) y posteriormente fue miembro del Instituto de Investigación Exobiológico de Barcelona. Ha dado conferencias para los médicos cirujanos plásticos de Cataluña y en la Universidad Erasmus de Medicina, en Bruselas, entre otras.
El milagroso dióxido de cloro
Actualmente, Andreas Kalcker y su mujer están realizando un documental sobre este tema en Japón, África, Suiza, Estados Unidos, Bélgica y muchos sitios más, para poder demostrar la eficacia del tratamiento.
Andreas Kalcker está trabajando en una nueva teoría, conjuntamente con la universidad de Florida y la universidad de Moscú, acerca de un nuevo parásito, parecido al parásito llamado áscaris, que habita en el intestino de los hombres, pero cuya genética no se corresponde con la del áscaris y tampoco con la genética humana. Es una sorpresa a nivel científico y se sospecha que este nuevo parásito puede haberse creado a partir de la manipulación genética en los cultivos transgénicos, lo que demostraría que estos cultivos no son todo lo seguros que nos han contado .
Ha tenido la suerte de poder aprender oficios diferentes y las circunstancias de la vida le han empujado al sector de la medicina; en especial, la biofísica que es lo que más le interesa. La vida le ha enseñado que la mayoría de las cosas no son lo que parecen y que vivimos para aprender.

Epidemics in Western Society Since 1600 (HIST 234) In the last decade of the nineteenth century, malariology emerged as the most prestigious and intellectually exciting field in the new discipline of tropical medicine. The disease's complexity and resistance to conventional public health strategies posed a major challenge to doctors and scientists. Plague measures and social hygiene had no effect in curbing malaria, and the disease proved difficult to classify. The case of Italy, and the malaria eradication program of 1900-1962, furnished a model for other efforts across the world. In evaluating the Italian campaign, it is important to distinguish between valuable lessons and warnings for future efforts, and in particular to account for the diversity of strategies responsible for its success. 00:00 - Chapter 1. In February 2014, Malaria Consortium hosted a 10th anniversary symposium to celebrate a decade helping to manage communicable diseases and improve child health among the most vulnerable and marginalised.
The third session, presented by Dr Sylvia Meek (Malaria Consortium Technical Director), entitled 'Moving towards elimination', highlighted the historical shift over the past decade in ambitions to fight malaria, as well as the importance of achieving elimination of falciparum malaria, and the need for improved surveillance systems and capacity to provide information to support the move elimination in some parts of the world.
Dr Sylvia Meek was joined by fellow panellists Professor Simon Brooker (London School of Health & Tropical Medicine), Dr Lek Dysoley (Ministry of Health, Cambodia), and Professor Chris Drakeley (London School). We have shown that nitric oxide (NO) bioavailability is reduced in malaria. Our studies over the last 19 years have demonstrated many causes of the NO deficiency. Adjunctive malaria treatment with NO may be useful in malaria management.

This short film combines Origami, Kirigami, Time lapse, nankin illustration, Comic Books and Western Cinema.
My first intention was to submit this project to Django Unchained Emerging Artist contest. However due to time and crew limitations I submitted the short film "The Writer" to this competition. (You can watch "The Writer" here https://vimeo.com/46235261)

NIGHTMARE: Malaria PSA
As a Motion Design Intern at PSYOP, I was part of a Establishment for the Greater Good (EGG) team to help create a PSA for Against Malaria Foundation. This PSA raises awareness of the horrors of malaria and the inexplensive and simple solution to save millions of lives.
I worked on a team of 8 students with exemplary skills in 2D & 3D animations. Alongside the EGG team, we were mentored by PSYOP's finest! Thank you, Pakorn Bupphavesa and Ave Carrillo, for the opportunity to work on this extraordinary piece.
Special thanks to Susan Sarandon for lending her voice and helping the cause!
I personally worked on the shots after the bite until the disease smashes into the liver and the skull vomiting shot. I ran many simulations and for the liquid dripping and liver explosion, using Realflow and Cinema 4D. The skull was animated using After Effects and the vomit was textured in Photoshop.

NIGHTMARE: Malaria PSA
As a Motion Design Intern at PSYOP, I was part of a Establishment for the Greater Good (EGG) team to help create a PSA for Against Malaria Foundation. This PSA raises awareness of the horrors of malaria and the inexplensive and simple solution to save millions of lives.
I worked on a team of 8 students with exemplary skills in 2D & 3D animations. Alongside the EGG team, we were mentored by PSYOP's finest! Thank you, Pakorn Bupphavesa and Ave Carrillo, for the opportunity to work on this extraordinary piece.
Special thanks to Susan Sarandon for lending her voice and helping the cause!
I personally worked on the shots after the bite until the disease smashes into the liver and the skull vomiting shot. I ran many simulations and for the liquid dripping and liver explosion, using Realflow and Cinema 4D. The skull was animated using After Effects and the vomit was textured in Photoshop.

Epidemics in Western Society Since 1600 (HIST 234) In the last decade of the nineteenth century, malariology emerged as the most prestigious and intellectually exciting field in the new discipline of tropical medicine. The disease's complexity and resistance to conventional public health strategies posed a major challenge to doctors and scientists. Plague measures and social hygiene had no effect in curbing malaria, and the disease proved difficult to classify. The case of Italy, and the malaria eradication program of 1900-1962, furnished a model for other efforts across the world. In February 2014, Malaria Consortium hosted a 10th anniversary symposium to celebrate a decade helping to manage communicable diseases and improve child health among the most vulnerable and marginalised. The third session, presented by Dr Sylvia Meek (Malaria Consortium Technical Director), entitled 'Moving towards elimination', highlighted the historical shift over the past decade in ambitions to fight malaria, as well as the importance of achieving elimination of falciparum malaria, and the need for improved surveillance systems and capacity to provide information to support the move elimination in some parts of the world. My first intention was to submit this project to Django Unchained Emerging Artist contest. However due to time and crew limitations I submitted the short film "The Writer" to this competition. (You can watch "The Writer" here https://vimeo.com/46235261)

NIGHTMARE: Malaria PSA
As a Motion Design Intern at PSYOP, I was part of a Establishment for the Greater Good (EGG) team to help create a PSA for Against Malaria Foundation. This PSA raises awareness of the horrors of malaria and the inexplensive and simple solution to save millions of lives.
I worked on a team of 8 students with exemplary skills in 2D & 3D animations. Alongside the EGG team, we were mentored by PSYOP's finest! Thank you, Pakorn Bupphavesa and Ave Carrillo, for the opportunity to work on this extraordinary piece.
Special thanks to Susan Sarandon for lending her voice and helping the cause!
I personally worked on the shots after the bite until the disease smashes into the liver and the skull vomiting shot. I ran many simulations and for the liquid dripping and liver explosion, using Realflow and Cinema 4D. The skull was animated using After Effects and the vomit was textured in Photoshop.

Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease of humans and other animals caused by eukaryotic protists (a type of microorganism) of the genus Plasmodium. The protists act as parasites within red blood cells, causing symptoms that typically include fever and headache, in severe cases progressing to coma or death. The disease is widespread in tropical and subtropical regions in a broad band around the equator, including much of Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
Five species of Plasmodium can infect and be transmitted by humans. Severe disease is largely caused by P. falciparum while the disease caused by P. vivax, P. ovale, and P. malariae is generally a milder form that is rarely fatal. The zoonotic species P. knowlesi, prevalent in Southeast Asia, causes malaria in macaques but can also cause severe infections in humans. Malaria is prevalent in tropical regions because of the significant amounts of rainfall, consistently high temperatures and high humidity, along with stagnant waters in which mosquito larvae readily mature, provide them with the environment they need for continuous breeding. Disease transmission can be reduced by preventing mosquito bites by distribution of mosquito nets and insect repellents, or with mosquito-control measures such as spraying insecticides and draining standing water.

Sonia Shah (born 1969 in New York City, United States) is an American investigative journalist and author noted for her articles on corporate power - especially with respect to agriculture, oil and pharmaceutical industries - and on gender equality with specific reference to issues that affect developing countries. Contributes narratives on history programs.
Shah was born in 1969 in New York City to Indian immigrants. Growing up, she shuttled between the northeastern United States where her parents practiced medicine and Mumbai and Bangalore, India, where her extended working-class family lived, developing a life-long interest in inequality between and within societies. She holds a BA in journalism, philosophy, and neuroscience from Oberlin College, and lives with molecular ecologist Mark Bulmer and their two sons Zakir and Kush.
Shah's writing, based on original reportage from around the world, from India and South Africa to Panama, Malawi, Cameroon, and Australia, has been featured on current affairs shows around the United States, as well as on the BBC and Australia's Radio National. A frequent keynote speaker at political conferences, Shah has lectured at universities and colleges across the country, including Columbia's Earth Institute, MIT, Harvard, Brown, Georgetown and elsewhere. David Tennant (born David John McDonald; 18 April 1971) is a Scottish actor. In addition to his work in theatre, including a widely praised Hamlet, Tennant is best known for his role as the tenth incarnation of the Doctor in Doctor Who, along with the title role in the TV serial Casanova (2005) and as Barty Crouch, Jr., in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005).
Tennant was born in Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland, the son of Essdale Helen (née McLeod) and The Rev. Alexander McDonald (known to family and friends as Sandy McDonald). He grew up with his brother Blair and sister Karen in Ralston, Renfrewshire, where his father was the local Church of Scotland minister. Tennant's maternal great-grandparents, William and Agnes Blair, were staunch Protestants from Derry in Ulster, the northern province of Ireland, and were among the signatories of the Ulster Covenant in 1912; William was a member of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland. Tennant's maternal grandfather, footballer Archie McLeod, met William and Agnes's daughter Nellie while playing for Derry City.
