Faroe Islands Tourism
Faroe Islands Tourism
Captivating natural beauty, ancient lore, and secret solitude... Combine this with a culture of celebration and it's easy to see why the Faroe Islands are considered by many the "best kept secret in Europe". Dazzling landscapes offer a variety of activities such as fishing, hiking, camping, and boat trips. No wonder National Geographic has named the Faroe Islands the best islands to visit in the world. Situated between Iceland, Norway, and the UK, the Faroe Islands are home to roughly 50,000 people, and one of the world's smallest capitals, Torshavn.- published: 18 Oct 2013

Exploding sperm whale carcass caught on camera in the Faroe Islands
Subscribe to ITN News: http://bit.ly/itnytsub A camera captured the moment a sperm whale carcass, which washed up in the Faroe Islands, exploded. The clip, which was shown of Faroese Television, has since gone viral, racking up millions of hits on YouTube alone. The dead whale had been lying on the beach for two days, after getting stuck in the waters between two islands, when marine biologist Bjarni Mikkelsen was sent to cut it open. As he made incisions in the whale's side the carcass exploded due to a build up of methane gas from the decomposition creating a loud sound and releasing a pungent smell. It is reported that a local museum will collect the skelton and put it on display. Report by Laurie Blake. Sea Shepherd's bumper boats in the Faroe Islands
Sea Shepherd's bumper boats in the Faroe Islands
The clowns of the floating circus cult group Sea Shepherd plan to send up to 500 minions to the Faroe Islands this summer. Their aim is to document and possibly intervene in the whale harvesting known as a "grind" in the Faroe Islands. This is a win-win for the descendants of the Vikings in the Faroe Islands. The clowns of Sea Shepherd will be spending plenty of money there contributing to their economy. Similar to Sea Shepherd's Cove Guardians boost the economy in and around Taiji, Japan for six months out of the year. The clowns also plan to play bumper-boats. Instead of bringing a clown car, they will be bringing with them around five clown bumper boats. Theory these boats will be used to interfere with any whale round up by the inhabitants. The clowns were nice enough to paint the boats black with large white lettering reading "Sea Shepherd." This will allow the inhabitants to easily identify who the clowns and intruders are. Background: The Faroe Islands located in the North Atlantic Ocean roughly between Norway and Iceland. The people decedents from the Vikings have a unique form of whaling. The whales swim into the Faroe Islands fjords then are guided by the Faroese boats to the beach, where the whales are harvested for free food for the islanders. When this happens the Faroese call it "the Grind," or a "Grind." Thus the name "GrindStop 2014" by Sea Shepherd. The summer of 2011 "pope Paul the Watson" and his minions sailed into the Faroe Islands to video "Whale Wars Viking Shores." While the clowns were in port a local resident named Oli Breckmann coined the term for Sea Shepherd as being a "floating circus." Accurate, and spot on identifying these clowns. Currently there is an "advance" team of Sea Shepherd cultists and filed a report on the cult group's web page (link below) they wrote the following in reference to their venture in the Faroe Islands: "......sea volunteers who will be standing guard at the beaches for over four months in order to sound the alarm, interfere, and document should Grind be attempted there." "Interfere." Really? Are these circus clowns that out of touch they think they will be permitted to "interfere" as their trust-fund babies did in the Southern Ocean? Will someone please tell these children the Faroe Islanders are not the Japanese. Another writing on their web page: "We explained to the police that we would stand our ground and defend the whales." Can you just imagine the police rolling on the floor laughing when the clowns left their office? The interest part is ".....we would stand our ground...." "Our ground?" These foreign intruders have no ground in the Faroe Islands. The cult group pulled the same routine a few years back in Taiji, Japan when they told residents of Taiji to leave this place and go home. Their most hilarious quote is the following: "Some of us may have to go to jail, but that is a small price to pay to save a whale or dolphin." Most likely that quote did not included his holiness pope Paul the Watson who is currently a bail jumper fearing an arrest to go to jail because of his activities to save whales. Apparently in this cult group one does not lead by example and it is "do as I say and not as I do." When you visit their web link listed below please click on the red tab on top that reads "donate now." Because that was the sole reason for the dribble they wrote there. It was purely to induce money from emotional wreck suckers who believe the fiction written there.
