Noyon

Noyon (Latin: Noviomagus Veromanduorum, Noviomagus of the Veromandui) is a commune in the Oise department in northern France. It lies on the Oise Canal about 100 kilometers (60 mi) north of Paris.

History

The Gallo-Romans founded the town as Noviomagus (Celtic for "New Field" or "Market"). As several other cities shared the name, it was distinguished by specifying the people living in and around it. The town is mentioned in the Antonine Itinerary as being 27 Roman miles from Soissons and 34 Roman miles from Amiens, but d'Anville noted that the distance must be in error, Amiens being further and Soisson closer than indicated.

By the Middle Ages, the town's Latin name had mutated to Noviomum. The town was strongly fortified; some sections of the Roman walls still remained in late antiquity. This may explain why, around the year 531, bishop Medardus moved his seat from Vermand in the Vermandois to Noyon. (Another option was to move his seat to Saint-Quentin but the wine produced in Noyon was thought to be much better than that produced in Saint-Quentin. Other explanations are that Medardus was born near the town, at Salency, or that the place is nearer to Soissons, which was one of the royal capitals of the Merovingians.) The bishop of Noyon was also bishop of Tournai from the seventh century until Tournai was raised to a separate diocese 1146.

Shakib Khan

Shakib Khan (Bengali: শাকিব খান, born: 28 March 1979) is a Bangladeshi film actor. He made his debut in Annotho Bhalobasha (1999), though it did not lead to widespread fame. After a few years, Khan established himself as one of the most successful, and highest paid, actors in Bangladeshi film history. Throughout his career, Khan has received various awards, including two National Film Awards for Best Actor for Bhalobaslei Ghor Bandha Jay Na and Khodar Pore Ma, and seven Meril Prothom Alo Awards.

Early life

Shakib Khan was born in Narayanganj, Bangladesh. His father Abdur Rab was a government officer; his mother Nurjahan is a housewife. His father's job required the family to relocate frequently from one city to another during his school years. He was a brilliant student and had very good results in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) exams.

Besides education, he also had a keen interest in dancing. He completed a dancing course under film choreographer Aziz Reza. In 1998 he went to BFDC (Bangladesh Film Development Corporation), the only major studio of Bangladeshi film industry at that time, on a random visit, where he met a photographer who asked him to take part in a photo shoot. During the photo shoot, film director Abul Khair Bulbul noticed Shakib and offered him the leading role in his movie Shobaito Shukhi Hote Chai. Shakib accepted the offer. While filming Shobaito Shukhi Hote Chai, other directors noticed him and offered him roles.

Andrew Kishore

Andrew Kishore is a Bangladeshi popular singer. He has been active in the Bangladeshi music industry since the 1980s.

Kishore started taking music lessons under Abdul Aziz Bachchu, the then chief music director of Rajshahi Betar. After the Liberation War, Kishore was enlisted in the radio in Nazrul, Tagore, modern, folk and patriotic songs categories. One of his first plackback songs is "Ek chor jay choley" from the 1977 film Protikkha, composed by Alam Khan. He recorded other playback songs such as Jiboner Golpo Achhe Baki Olpo , "Dak Diyachhen Doyal Amare" and "Bhalobese Gelam Shudhu".

Kishore also works in his Probaho Media, a production house, which produces TV plays, commercials and other productions.

Kishore has two children.
