Bookselling is the commercial trading of books, the retail and distribution end of the publishing process. People who engage in bookselling are called booksellers or bookmen.

Bookstores may be either part of a chain, or local independent bookstores.

Bookstores can range in size offering from several hundred to several hundred thousands of titles. They may be brick-and-mortar stores or internet only stores or a combination of both. Sizes for the larger bookstores exceed half a million titles.

Bookstores often sell other printed matter besides books, such as newspapers, magazines and maps; additional product lines may vary enormously, particularly among independent bookstores. Colleges and universities often have their own student bookstore on campus that focuses on providing course textbooks and scholarly books, although some on-campus bookstores are owned by large chains such as WHSmith or Waterstone's in the United Kingdom, or Barnes & Noble College Booksellers in the United States, which is a private firm controlled by the chair of Barnes & Noble.

Jeff Weber (born September 24, 1984 in Burlington, Ontario) is a former professional ice hockey goaltender.

Weber began his playing career in the OHL with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. After appearing in only four games for the Greyhounds Weber was traded to the Plymouth Whalers during the 2002–03 season. Five days after being acquired Weber won his debut with the Whalers defeating his former team to earn his first OHL victory, while also setting an OHL record set an OHL record by stopping two penalty shots in the span of 1:17 during the second period.

During the off seaon Weber was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 8th round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Following two more OHL season in which he split time between the Whalers, Barrie Colts, and Saginaw Spirit, Weber began play in the ECHL. He played for the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies, Stockton Thunder and Long Beach Ice Dogs during his ECHL career. While he was in California with the Ice Dogs Weber appeared on two reality TV shows, Pros vs. Joes and MTV's Next. He continued to play professionally until he broke a bone in his foot cliff diving in Mexico. Weber returned following surgery to repair the bone but decided to step away from his professional career after a surgical screw in his foot broke.

James Daunt is a British businessman. He is the founder of the Daunt Books chain, and since May 2011 has been managing director of the book chain Waterstone's.

James Daunt was educated at Sherborne School before reading history at Cambridge University. After working in the United States as a banker for JP Morgan, he founded Daunt Books, a chain of six bookshops in London. In May 2011 he was appointed managing director of Waterstone's by the company's new owner, Alexander Mamut. The pair were listed at fourth place in a 2011 Guardian list of the top 100 people in the British books industry.
