If 2013 “MasterChef Junior” champ Alexander Weiss, who will return as a guest on the show’s June 30 episode, had to eat only one meal for the rest of his life, it certainly wouldn’t come from his school’s cafeteria. Rather, his choice would be the meal that earned him the title — and $100,000 in prize money — on the Fox series finale: pan-seared veal chop served over potato gnocchi with sage and shallot butter sauce. Or maybe a cut of steak, he adds. “It’s so hard to choose because, you know, I don’t like having the same thing too many ways,” says Weiss, who notes that his culinary skills are inspired by his parents, amateur cooks who are “really good.”
