Christ finds it fascinating that the birds choose to live along a busy street, packed with homes, walkers and motorists, instead of nesting along the nearby river ... The herons formerly nested across the river in Cumberland County along the Conodoguinet Creek in the early 2000s, but eventually fled as development displaced them ... But in 2012, the birds made the move to midtown, just a block away from the Susquehanna River....
