★ FACEBOOK http://facebook.com/ChessNetwork ★ TWITTER http://twitter.com/ChessNetwork ★ GOOGLE+ https://plus.google.com/111685059261358125042/posts ★ LIVESTREAM http://twitch.tv/ChessNetwork This is a game from round 3 of the Zurich Chess Challenge 2014 between Hikaru Nakamura and current world chess champion Magnus Carlsen. Both players revisit game 9 of the 2013 World Chess Championship match where Anand, as white, chose 4.f3 out of the Nimzo-Indian Defense. Play deviates from game 9 of that match however after Nakamura's 5.a3, and an opposite sides castling battle ensues with the typical race to attack one another's king. Will it be Nakamura or Carlsen who wins the race to attack the opposing king? Internet Chess Club (ICC) http://bit.ly/179O93N- published: 01 Feb 2014

Anand vs Aronian - 2014 FIDE World Candidates Chess Tournament
★ FACEBOOK http://facebook.com/ChessNetwork ★ TWITTER http://twitter.com/ChessNetwork ★ GOOGLE+ https://google.com/+ChessNetwork ★ LIVESTREAM http://twitch.tv/ChessNetwork This is a Round 1 game from the 2014 FIDE Candidates chess tournament between Vishy Anand and Levon Aronian. The winner of this 14-round tournament, which is being held in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, will act as the challenger to Magnus Carlsen in the 2014 world chess championship match. Anand opts for the Ruy Lopez and grabs the pawn Aronian offered in a variation still in the spirit of the Marshall Gambit. In return for the material deficit, Aronian has a lead in development and very well coordinated pieces all aiming towards Anand's kingside. One of the strategies almost always available to the side with the material advantage is to simply "give it back". This game illustates this very idea, and acts as an excellent example of endgame technique with the bishop pair. Chess Master gets checkmated in 4 moves and can't stop laughing
★ FACEBOOK http://facebook.com/ChessNetwork ★ TWITTER http://twitter.com/ChessNetwork ★ GOOGLE+ https://google.com/+ChessNetwork ★ LIVESTREAM http://twitch.tv/ChessNetwork This video's title pretty much says it all. I got checkmated by an opponent who used the Scholar's mate and I burst out laughing during a chess tournament livestreamed at http://twitch.tv/ChessNetwork. So much for trying to crack a poor math joke at the start of a chessgame and sort of being in premove mode. Math-minded chess master's beware! :) Surprisely enough, the second game ended with me checkmating my opponent on the exact square and with the same piece as I got checkmated in the first game. For whatever the reason, that really pushed me over the edge with laughter. This is the most candid video that'll likely ever be uploaded to this channel. Replicating such is hard to do. Hopefully it's good for a laugh or two.- published: 07 Mar 2014
