According to doctrine of the Latter Day Saint movement, the plan of salvation (also known as the plan of happiness) is a plan that God created to save, redeem, and exalt humankind. The elements of this plan are drawn from various scriptural sources, including The Bible,Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, Pearl of Great Price and numerous statements made by the leadership of the LDS Church.

In the 1840s, Joseph Smith Jr. stated that the human spirit existed with God before the creation of Earth. Thus, Latter-day Saints believe in a pre-mortal existence, in which people are literally the spirit children of God. Latter-Day Saints often point to Jeremiah 1:5 as one example of evidence in the Bible for a pre-existence. In this section Jeremiah the prophet is told that the Lord knew him before He formed him in the belly and before he came out of the womb, and was sanctified and ordained to be a prophet at that time. This teaching is primarily based however upon revealed doctrine by Joseph Smith and others in the early years of the Church. Prior to the existence of spirits, some element of the human spirit, called intelligence, existed eternally in the same sense that God existed eternally, but in a less progressed form of energy or matter. This may explain the Church's teaching that man and God are co-eternal (carefully distinguishing "co-eternal" from "equal", which is not a part of LDS doctrine). Within Latter-day beliefs, God is looked upon as both creator and Heavenly Father.

Ernie Haase (born December 12, 1964 in Cynthiana, Indiana, grew up in Newburgh). He is best known as the former tenor singer of the Southern gospel group The Cathedrals (Ret 1999). After the Cathedrals' retirement, Haase became the founder of Ernie Haase and Signature Sound.

The Cathedrals' bass singer, George Younce witnesses Haase' performance and invited him to join the Cathedrals as their tenor.

After the Cathedral Quartet retired in 1999, he embarked upon a solo career for several years. In addition to his solo concerts, he performed from 2001 through 2003 with Jake Hess, Wesley Pritchard, and George Younce in the Old Friends Quartet. After the Old Friends Quartet disbanded due to the ill health of George Younce and Jake Hess, Haase founded the group, Signature Sound. The group was rebranded, "Ernie Haase and Signature Sound", to avoid confusion with other similarly named groups and also as a way to take advantage of Haase's popularity as the final tenor for the Cathedral Quartet.

Ernie Haase married George Younce's third daughter Lisa in 1990 after a brief courtship.

Paul David Washer (born 1961) is the Founder/Director & Missions Coordinator of HeartCry Missionary Society which supports indigenous missionary work. He is also a Southern Baptist itinerant preacher. Washer's sermons tend to have an evangelistic focus on the gospel and the doctrine of the assurance of salvation, and he frequently speaks against practices such as the sinner's prayer, and a focus on numerical church growth.

Washer had a born again experience while studying to become an oil and gas lawyer at the University of Texas. Upon graduation, he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and achieved a Master of Divinity degree. He then moved to Peru to become a missionary for 10 years, after which he returned to the United States. Washer resides in Radford, Virginia, where he lives with his wife and three children.

Washer's sermons often focus on the character of Christ and how a person is saved from hell. According to Washer, a person is saved through faith alone, but the evidence of a person's repentance is by walking with Jesus. Washer claims that most people who profess a belief in Christianity aren't truly saved. Washer blames preachers, as he claims many preachers often say a person is saved without looking for evidence of repentance in that person's life.
