Bhopal Shatabdi Express Full Journey Compilation: Delhi Mathura Part I
A full journey compilation aboard India's first Shatabdi Express, and the train with the highest running speed in India, the 12002 New Delhi Bhopal Shatabdi Express. Inaugurated in 1988 on the birth centenary of Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister, the train initially ran between New Delhi and Jhansi, and was subsequently extended till Bhopal. The train covers a staggering 1,400 kilometres on a daily basis, with an eight hour travel time each way, maintaining a staggering average speed of over 87 kmph. The train runs with plush LHB Alsthom rakes and recently has been elongated to 15 coaches (2 AC Executive Chair Cars, 11 AC Chair Cars, 2 Power Cars). Over the past couple of years, the train is permitted to touch up to 160 kmph in the 173 kilometre Faridabad-Agra Cantt stretch, making it the fastest train in India in terms of maximum running speed. This compilation features the first part of the train's progress from New Delhi to Mathura. Powered by a Ghaziabad WAP5, we sneak out of New Delhi at 6 in the morning and accelerate through Hazrat Nizamuddin, past the Humayun's Tomb. By Tughlakabad, we have accelerated to 110 kmph and we blaze through Faridabad at 120 kmph. The high speed zone starts right after that as the Ghaziabad WAP5 notches up further and hits speeds of 140-150 kmph and roars through the water-filled green fields of western Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, past the small hamlets of Asaoti and Sholaka, the haven for Delhi based railfans to capture this very train. In between, WAP4 and WAP7 hauled expresses heading for Delhi shoot past.- published: 21 Sep 2013

Shatabdi Express trains are a series of superfast passenger trains operated by Indian Railways to connect Metro cities with other cities important for tourism, pilgrimage or business. Shatabdi Express are day-trains and they return to the station of origin the same day. The Shatabdis are among the fastest trains in India and the Indian Railways considers them as prestigious. The Shatabdi Express trains run over short to medium distances and they have a running speed upto 150 kilometers per hour. All the Shatabdi Express trains have one coach of first class air-conditioned seating. This compilation features the Shatabdi's progress through the 100 km stretch between Gwalior and Jhansi. The Jhansi-Gwalior section is the most beautiful stretch in this train's route, replete with a number of sharp curves through the Gwalior Hills and the Datia pass. The tracks diverge at a point and the two lines actually orthogonally cross each other a couple of times. We storm through these sections, lush green due to the monsoons, and aggressively accelerate after the Datia pass, after crossing the Betwa River. As we are exiting Gwalior, the Yesvantpur Delhi Sarai Rohilla Duronto Express comes screeching through with a Ghaziabad WAP7, heavily delayed due to the floods in Wardha and following a diverted schedule through Badnera and Bhusaval.- published: 17 Oct 2013

IRFCA - India's Fastest Train; Bhopal Shatabdi Express At Full Speed !!!
New Delhi Bhopal Shatabdi Express (Hindi: भोपाल शताब्दी) is a train operated by the Northern Railway which runs between New Delhi, the main railway station of India's capital territory, New Delhi, and Bhopal Junction the main railway station of Bhopal City, the state capital of central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The train is the fastest train in India with the top speed of 161 km/h (100 mph). The train commenced service in 1988 and was the first Shatabdi train to be introduced. The train runs at an average speed of 91 km/h (57 mph), excluding halts and touches a top speed of 152 km/h (94 mph) on the 195 km New Delhi-Agra stretch, which is the fastest for a train in India. The name "Shatabdi" means centenary in Sanskrit. The first Shatabdi Express train was introduced in 1988 to commemorate the birth centenary of Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. Sri Madhav Rao Scindia was Indian Railway Minister at that point of time and the Shatabdi Express was his brainchild. The first Shatabdi Express was flagged off between Jhansi and New Delhi, which was later extended to Bhopal. The trains are fully Air-conditioned and of a much higher standard than most Indian rail coaches. Shatabdi Express travelers are provided with snacks, meals, coffee/tea, a one litre water bottle/ 300ml packaged water (for short distance journey) provided by the railways owned and operated subsidiary '"Rail Neer", and juice. The train runs with new imported LHB coaches on all days. The cost of meals, breakfast etc. is all covered in the booking fare. The train runs across the tourism hub of India covering major tourist cities like New Delhi, Agra, Mathura, Gwalior, Jhansi & Bhopal. The complete list of stations is as follows: New Delhi Mathura Junction Agra Cantt Dholpur Junction Morena Gwalior Junction Jhansi Junction Lalitpur Junction Bhopal Junction The train runs as a day train, and completes one side journey of around 701 km (436 mi) in 8 hours 05 minutes and it returns to New Delhi station at night. As of Sept 21,2013 the train is supposed to stop at Lalitpur UP as well. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhopal_Shatabdi_Express- published: 31 Dec 2013

LHB Ranchi Shatabdi Express: Muri-Ranchi Ghat Section, Full Journey Compilation
The 65 kilometres between Muri and Ranchi are separated in elevation by nearly 400 metres, or 1,300 feet as the tracks ascend atop to the Jharkhand capital, located at an elevation of over 2,000 feet. The ascent of the tracks is through the heavily wooded Chhota Nagpur Hills. The two pairs of tracks are built on two distinct alignments for much of the way, along the ledges of two opposite hill ranges. This compilation documents the Howrah Ranchi Shatabdi's progress from Muri to Ranchi, and after a brief halt and reversal, the return journey to Muri. The Howrah WAP7 pulls the 9 coach Shatabdi up the winding hills, marked with sharp gradients and S-curves. Despite it being winter, there is plenty of vegetation left atop of the hills and at places, dense enough to block off the sunlight even in mid-afternoon. On the return journey, the sun is to our rear, lighting up the shiny new LHB coaches, the blue coaches contrasting with the milk-white WAP7. The stunning S-curve of Kita, the lovely station of Johna, railhead for the Johna falls, and the station of Muri are prominently featured. An industrial locomotive belonging to Hindalco, seen at Muri, is also showcased, along with the crossing of the Subarnarekha river. I was accompanied on this trip by 4 other train-lovers from Kolkata: Chirag Ganguly, Trayambak Ojha, Sourosankha Maji, and Avishek Basu. They can be seen at various points during this video: Avishek is particularly visible and abound in excitement as the Shatabdi flies through the Kita S-curve (14:50-15:00)!- published: 22 Feb 2014

RAGING AK RAJDHANI AND MAGNIFICENT SHATABDI EXPRESS COLLIDES!!!!!
I was onboard 12922 Surat- Mumbai Central Flying Ranee express when it was looped at Dahunu Rd Station. Very soon 12954 August Kranti Rajdhani enters with terrific honk and does flat Mps with a Powerful blast. Look at the 2nd platform board shaking like anything. This was really an aggresive Ak Rajdhani. On the other side 12009 Mumbai Central- Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express can be seen approaching at a slow speed. Shatabdi Express couldn't do Mps as it was closely trailing 19011 Gujarat Express. This was a great collision between two of the most prestiguous train on WR route- It was An Aggresive Ak Rajdhani Express and a Magnificent Shatabdi Express!!
