Michael L. Smolens, Founder & Chairman

A serial entrepreneur launching global manufacturing facilities in emerging economies, Michael has created more than 20,000 jobs supporting the livelihood of 100,000+ people in Haiti, Mexico, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Jordan, Russia and Azerbaijan. From 30 years of international experience, he developed a practical understanding of differences in the world's cultures and language roadblocks to cross-cultural understanding. For his vision in founding Dotsub as a solution, he is a recognized leader in the language services and technology industries. He serves on the Board of Translators Without Borders.

David Orban, CEO

Prior to Dotsub, David was a Founder and Chief Evangelist of WideTag, Inc., a high technology start-up company providing the infrastructure for an open Internet of Things. David was also co-founder of Startupbusiness, a social network aimed at enabling the technology startup ecosystem, and of Questar, an Italian software publishing and distribution company. He is also on the Faculty of and an Advisor to the Singularity University as an entrepreneur and visionary. Born in Budapest, Hungary, his educational background includes studies in Physics at both the University of Milan and the University of Padua. David's personal motto is: "What is the question I should be asking?"

Laurie Racine, Founder

Laurie is a seasoned entrepreneur who has started or secured funding for a variety of transformative for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Currently, Laurie is Founder and Managing Director at Startl, an innovative accelerator of new digital media learning products. She is also involved in several start-up ventures, serving as a Board Director of Wizehive and Fractor, as well as on advisory boards of Open Road Media, Notehall and Road Trip Nation. Previously, Laurie managed a venture endowed by the founders of Red Hat to launch Lulu Press, Creative Commons, ibiblio and Public Knowledge. She continues to serve as a Director of Creative Commons and the Tribeca Institute.
