Charles Hudson

Advisory Council, Chair

Charles Hudson is a Partner with SoftTech VC, one of the most active seed stage investors in Web 2.0 startups. He is focusing on mobile and gaming investments, and supporting SoftTech portfolio companies on business/corporate development matters. He was also the Co-Founder and CEO of Bionic Panda Games, a mobile games startup based in San Francisco, CA. Charles has also worked for Serious Business, Giai Interactive, Google and In-Q-Tel. He holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Economics and Spanish from Stanford University. Charles has served yearly as a CODE2040 Mentor starting with the first Fellows class in 2012.

Dan Portillo

Advisory Council

Dan Portillo is Vice President of Talent at Greylock were he is responsible for helping portfolio companies architect and scale their recruiting organizations. Prior to Greylock he was VP of Success & Engagement at Rypple were he defined the deployment strategy for the first Social Performance Application. Dan was instrumental in closing and deploying early customers such as Facebook, Jive Software & Gilt Groupe. Dan was part of the executive team at Mozilla, creators of Firefox, where he lead HR, Recruiting and University Relations. He helped them grow from 20 people in Mountain View, to over 400 with offices in 7 different countries. Earlier in his career Dan spent a decade building out successful early-stage, venture-backed consumer and enterprise companies.

Dan’s mother immigrated from Cuba and his father from El Salvador in the 1960′s. He was the first member of his family to be born in the US and the first to attend college. By sheer luck and circumstance he was fortunate to start working in technology after leaving UCLA. He recognizes that not all young black and latino student are as lucky and wants to do all he can to provide guidance and direction to close the achievement gap and provide better opportunities for underrepresented minorities in high-tech.

Jay Banfield

Advisory Council

Jay Banfield is a social entrepreneur who has experience in the private, public and nonprofit sectors.  Currently, Jay is the Founding Executive Director of Year Up Bay Area, a nationally recognized non-profit organization featured by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Forbes and Fortune that provides urban young adults with the opportunity to reach their full career potential through paid training and a corporate internship.  (www.yearup.org)  Among Year Up’s 22 corporate partners are Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, eBay, Zynga ,Google, EA, Yelp and Mozilla.

Jay began his career at Oracle Corporation, where he built volunteer programs and participated in the launch of the Clinton Administration’s AmeriCorps program.  Jay has also worked on local, state and national political campaigns.  Jay also served as Assistant Treasurer for the City and County of San Francisco, where he managed the city’s $7 billion treasury.  Following his time as Treasurer, Jay was appointed to Assistant General Manager at the SF Public Utilities Commission, where he directed the organization’s $400 million operating budget.

Jay received his BA from Stanford and Master in Public Policy (MPP) from UC Berkeley.

Jennifer Argüello

Advisory Council

Jennifer Argüello, a Silicon Valley native and dual citizen of Costa Rica and the United States, is a speaker and thought leader on women in technology and Latinos in STEM. She has a background in programming that includes a BS in Computer Science from UC San Diego and over a decade of experience in technology companies creating products from mobile apps to the first Xbox Kinect device. Jennifer is active on the alumni advisory board for the Computer Science and Engineering Department at UC San Diego; Latinas in Computing, an affinity group for the Anita Borg Institute; and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.

She has won much industry recognition, recently being named a 2013 Silicon Valley Latino 40 under 40 Latinos2Watch in Science and Technology, 2011 Femmeonomics Top 50 Women to Watch in Tech2010; and 2010 National Association of Professional Women: Professional Woman of the Year. Her philosophy is to make every day count and earn your time on earth by adding value to it. Jennifer has been adding value to the Fellows Program as a Mentor and also served on the Fellows Program Council for one year prior to joining the Advisory Council.

Mike Abbott

Advisory Council

Mike Abbott joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers as a partner in 2011. He focuses on investments in the firm’s digital practice, helping entrepreneurs in the social, mobile and cloud computing sectors rapidly scale teams and ventures. Mike serves as an expert resource on enterprise infrastructure, cloud computing and “big data.” He also helps entrepreneurs win the race for talent in a hyper-competitive recruitment environment.

An engineering leader, entrepreneur and investor, Mike led the building of innovative, high-performance applications and services at Twitter, Palm and Microsoft before he joined KPCB. Mike is also an expert in “big data” businesses, having founded Composite Software. Formerly the vice president of engineering at Twitter, Mike led the team to rebuild and solidify Twitter’s infrastructure, growing the engineering team from 80 to more than 350 engineers in less than a year and a half, and scaling Twitter’s architecture to support 250 million daily tweets. Before joining Twitter, Mike led the software development team at Palm that created HP/Palm’s next-generation webOS platform. Earlier in his career, Mike was the general manager at Microsoft for .NET online services, which became Azure. He was also co-founder of Passenger Inc. Mike has advised and invested in numerous software companies throughout his career, including Cloudera, Hearsay Labs, Jawbone and Saynow.

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic State University and has completed coursework toward a Ph.D. at the University of Washington.

Erin Teague

Advisory Council

Erin Teague is a Director of Product Management at Yahoo, where she is responsible for the new user experience product development and management for Yahoo’s products worldwide. Prior to Yahoo, Erin worked as a Product Manager at Path and Twitter where she focused on user growth, product strategy and analytics. Erin began her career at Morgan Stanley, where she designed algorithms embedded in electronic trading applications as a Software Engineer and Product Manager in the firm’s Algorithmic Trading Technology group.

Originally from Michigan, Erin holds a MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was a Morgan Stanley Fellow, and a BSE in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, where she graduated with honors as an Intel Scholar.  Erin has served as a CODE2040 Mentor since the first Fellows class in 2012.

 

Michael Carter

Advisory Council

Michael Carter is a 20 year Wall St. veteran and Co-Head of the US Technology Investment Banking Group at RBC Capital Markets. Mr. Carter joined the Firm from Barclays Capital, where he was a Managing Director, Global Head of the Enterprise and Information Services Sectors in the Global Technology Group. In addition to managing key business sectors in the Group, Mr. Carter also led the Group’s emerging market expansion efforts. Prior to Barclays, Mr. Carter was with Lehman Brothers for nearly 15 years serving as Managing Director, Global Head of the Enterprise Systems and Solutions sectors, including Tech Enabled Services, vertically focused software and services, Enterprise Hardware Systems and Internet Infrastructure.

Mr. Carter has an extensive background in Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity & Equity –Linked products, as well as Leveraged and Strategic Corporate Finance with specific transaction experience across the U.S., Europe, South America, and Asia, with a particular expertise in cross border M&A. Mr. Carter is a member of the Board of Directors of Montclair State University, a member of the Spelman College Investment Committee and a member of the Arts & Sciences Advisory Board for Washington University in St. Louis. Mr. Carter is a 1991 Coro Fellows Scholar and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis.

Rebecca Schapiro

Advisory Council

Rebecca Schapiro is a passionate marketer, deal maker, team lead and brand evangelist. Rebecca currently works on new business development initiatives for YouTube with a focus on education and commerce. Prior to Google, Rebecca brings 10+ years of brand building experience from her marketing and business development roles at Discovery Networks, MTV Networks, Apple and Bling Nation.  Rebecca also sits on the Leadership Council of Year Up Bay Area and is an active mentor. Rebecca holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA in Economics and Entrepreneurial Leadership from Tufts University.

Denmark West

Advisory Council

Denmark West is an advisor to both for-profit and non-pofit organizations. Denmark served as the President of Digital Media at BET Networks for four years managing online, mobile, video on demand and ad network businesses. He also held EVP positions at MTV Networks for many years driving strategy, leading acquisitions, and negotiating corporate partnerships. Before his tenure at MTVN he held various positions at Microsoft where he led strategic initiatives, partnerships and company investments. He holds a MBA from Harvard Business School, and an AB in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University.

Omoju Miller

Fellows Program Council, Co-Chair

Omoju Miller is a technologist, educator and an advisor, who has over a decade of experience in the technology industry. Currently, Omoju is a Technology Portfolio Manager at Google where she leads non-profit investing in Computer Science. She is currently completing her doctoral degree in Computer Science Education at the UC Berkeley. She is a member of the Berkeley BEST (Berkeley Experts Systems Technology Lab) and a member of UC Berkeley’s ground breaking CS10 family. Her work deals with the intersection of creativity and cognition.

In 2011, she founded TEDxEuclidAve, an independent TED event, to spur on social entrepreneurship and innovation. Omoju also serves in a volunteer capacity as an advisor to the White House Presidential Innovation Fellows, where she focuses on inclusion and diversity in technology. Omoju also contributes to the CODE2040 mission as a Mentor for the Fellows Program.

Charles Nwatu

Fellows Program Council, Co-Chair

Charles has a passion for advancing underprivileged and underrepresented communities within the STEM community. Currently working at LinkedIn as an information security professional, Charles uses his skills to protect users from malware by designing and develop means to monitor suspicious activity and respond accordingly. Charles is a continuous learner and enjoys meeting new people advancing the drive for more minorities in STEM. Charles holds a BS from Pennsylvania State University in Information Science and Technology. Charles is originally from Alexandria, VA and now resides with his wife and two kids in Fremont, CA.

Heiyab (Hobbs) Tessema

Fellows Program Council

Heiyab comes from a diverse technology background, ranging from working on infrastructure projects as an Environmental Engineer to his current role as Lead Business Architect at a strategic consulting firm, Agora Group, where his team applies software-based solutions to improve bottom-line outcomes for private and public sector clients.

He continues to “bleed green” through his service on the Black Alumni of Dartmouth Association Executive Board and excitedly engages the African Diaspora through his operations role at the Ethiopian Global Initiative.  Channeling his difficulty to sit still, he mentors minority high school students on the college admissions process (primarily standardized test prep).

Heiyab holds a Professional Engineering License from the State of New York, a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Engineering from Dartmouth College, and a Master of Engineering Management from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College.

Lemu Coker

Fellows Program Council

Lemu Coker is a digital strategist who has held roles at Google, Apple, MTV Networks, Myspace, and Gawker Media. Lemu has been a Program Committee Member for CODE2040 for two years, where he helps under-represented minority students break into the technology industry. He is also a published photographer, certified zombie apocalypse expert, independent film fanatic, and social media junkie. Lemu has an MBA University of Michigan and holds a BA in Mass Media & Marketing from the University of Connecticut. He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, and is originally from Hartford, Connecticut.

Kelli Newman

Fellows Program Council

Kelli currently works as an associate at the law firm of Fenwick & West.  She specializes in advising clients on corporate governance, tax law and securities law, specifically as they pertain to executive compensation and employee benefits. Prior to beginning her legal practice, Kelli worked in non-profit development and strategic partnerships for a scholarship fund.

Kelli Newman is a graduate of Rice University, cum laude, and Stanford Law School.  At Stanford, Kelli served as president and campus outreach director of Building a Better Legal Profession (BBLP), a national organization that sought workplace reforms in large private law firms by encouraging students and clients to engage only with firms that demonstrate a genuine commitment to issues of demographic diversity and pro bono participation. Immediately following Kelli’s tenure, BBLP’s successful outreach led to its mission being assumed by the National Association for Law Placement, an organization whose membership includes virtually every law school in the country.

 

 

 

Raiford (Rai) Cockfield

Fellows Program Council

Raiford C. Cockfield III received his BA from Wesleyan University and MBA from the Stanford GSB.  A business development and International commerce specialist, Rai worked at eBay after returning from Asia (Hong Kong and China) where he founded a wine e-commerce platform.  He is looking forward to helping the finest engineering talent learn more about Silicon Valley (while learning a bit from them)!

Danilo Campos

Fellows Program Council

Danilo has been designing and developing for iOS software since the launch of the App Store in 2008. He ran mobile development at Hipmunk, a travel search startup, for its first two years. More recently Danilo was iOS Lead for Level Money, a financial planning and education app recognized as an Apple Editor’s Choice. A first-generation knowledge worker, today Danilo trades as an educator and freelancer in San Francisco, CA.

Ruthe Farmer

Fellows Program Council

Ruthe Farmer has focused her efforts on increasing girls’ participation in technology and engineering since 2001. She provides strategic planning and direction at NCWIT, fund development, and cultivation of new partnerships, and leads the NCWIT K-12 Alliance. Ruthe is the driving force behind the hugely successful Aspirations in Computing talent development initiative, served as the 2012 Chair of Computer Science Education Week, was named a Champion of Change for Technology Inclusion by the White House in July 2013, and received the Ulla Popken Phenomenal Woman Award for her work to increase girls’ participation in technology and engineering.

Ruthe frequently speaks and presents on the topic of girls and women in technology and has been an invited speaker at the White House, the United Nations International Telecommunications Union, the European Union Energy Committee, the WebSummit in Dublin, and many more.

Ruthe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications & German from Lewis & Clark College and an MBA in Social Entrepreneurship & Marketing from the University of Oxford’s Said Business School and is passionate about integrating innovative entrepreneurial strategies into her work.

Eutiquio (Tiq) Chapa

Eutiquio (Tiq) Chapa is part of the Latino Startup Alliance Labs team. he is currently a Mobile UX Designer who helps clients ranging from startups to multi-national companies improve their user experience and mobile app design.

Previously, he co-founded a startup and raised seed funding to utilize Facebook data to connect people around shared causes. Tiq has had a chance to work with the White House Initiative for Excellence in Education for Hispanic Americans, NIKE and the Stanford University Endowment.

Tiq graduated from Stanford University in 2011 with a BA in Urban Studies. He enjoys Crossfit and played independent minor league baseball post-graduation. His parents are Mexican-American and eh was born in Salinas, CA and raised in King City, CA.

Tristan Walker

Founder, Chairman

Tristan is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Andreessen Horowitz. Prior to his time at Andreessen Horowitz, he was the Director of Business Development for foursquare, where he oversaw strategic partnerships and monetization. In this role, Tristan managed integrations with large brands and media entities including American Express, The New York Times, CNN, MTV, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and Starbucks. He has been named to Ebony Magazine’s 100 Most Powerful People list, The Hollywood Reporter’s Digital Power 50, and Black Enterprise’s 40 Next. Tristan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stony Brook University, where he graduated as valedictorian, and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He currently lives with his wife in Palo Alto, California.

Ben Horowitz

Board Member

Ben Horowitz is a co-founder and general partner of Andreessen Horowitz, a venture capital firm that helps entrepreneurs become successful CEOs and build important and enduring companies. Andreessen Horowitz provides seed, venture and growth-stage funding to the best new technology companies, and the firm currently has $2.7 billion under management across three funds. Among its 100 investments are Airbnb, Box, Fab.com, Facebook, Foursquare, GitHub, Jawbone, Lytro, Magnet Systems, Pinterest and Twitter. Ben was a co-founder and CEO of Opsware (formerly Loudcloud), which was acquired by HP in 2007 for $1.6 billion, and was appointed vice president and general manager of Business Technology Optimization for Software at HP. Earlier, he was vice president and general manager of America Online’s E-commerce Platform division, where he oversaw development of the company’s flagship Shop@AOL service. Previously, Horowitz ran several product divisions at Netscape Communications. He also served as vice president of Netscape’s widely acclaimed Directory and Security product line. Before joining Netscape in July 1995, he held various senior product marketing positions at Lotus Development Corporation. Horowitz has a BA in Computer Science from Columbia University and an MS in Computer Science from UCLA. He serves on the board of many companies including Foursquare, Jawbone, Lytro, Magnet and Tidemark. Horowitz also pens his own blog, Ben’s Blog (www.bhorowitz.com), where he covers everything from how CEOs should hire executives to how to minimize politics in your company. He lives in Silicon Valley with his wife and three daughters.

Marc Hedlund

Board Member, Treasurer

Marc Hedlund is VP Engineering at Stripe. He was most recently the VP of Engineering at Etsy, leading a 120-person team responsible for development of Etsy’s peer-to-peer marketplace for handmade and vintage goods. Previously, he worked as Chief Product Officer at Daylife. In 2005, Marc co-founded Wesabe, a personal finance web site, and served as its Chief Product Officer, later becoming its CEO. Before Wesabe, he was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at O’Reilly Media, where he came up with the idea for Wesabe, and helped develop O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures (OATV), O’Reilly’s VC fund.

Marc has also worked as VP Engineering at Sana Security, and co-founded Popular Power, serving as its CEO. Prior to this, Mr. Hedlund served as General Manager and Founder of Lucas Online, the Internet division/subsidiary of Lucasfilm, before and during the launch of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

Early in his career, Marc worked as Director of Engineering of Organic Online and Chief Technology Officer of Webstorm, where he wrote one of the first Internet shopping cart applications in 1994. Marc currently serves as a Director of FluidInfo, Inc. He is a graduate of Reed College, and lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife Gabrielle, and their children Juniper and Carver.

Amber Saloner Tennant

Board Member

Amber Saloner oversees Product and Mobile Operations at Facebook. She leads the teams responsible for improving product quality, developing operational systems to support new products, producing the Help Center, and supporting Facebook’s users in Asia Pacific. Prior to Facebook, Amber worked at Teach For America, where she led pacific coast recruitment. She also served for two years as a Teach For America corps member, teaching fourth and fifth grade in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Amber received her B.A. and MBA degrees from Stanford University.

Bea Perez

Beatriz Perez is Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer of The Coca-Cola Company. Bea leads a new global Office of Sustainability responsible for creating and overseeing an integrated sustainability strategy; setting high-level goals and commitments; assessing and driving scaled investments; and managing global sustainability partnerships and programs. Bea joined Coca Cola in 1996 and has held various roles of increasing responsibility, including Associate Brand Manager, Vice President, Sports and Entertainment for Coca-Cola North America; Senior Vice President of Integrated Marketing for Coca-Cola North America, and most recently, Chief Marketing Officer for Coca-Cola North America. She is chair of the GRAMMY Foundation and sits on the boards of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, The Victory Junction Gang Camps founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty, and HSBC North America Holdings Inc. She also has served as a founding member of The Coca-Cola Company’s Women’s Leadership Council.

Laura Weidman Powers

Co-Founder, Executive Director

Laura is the co-founder and Executive Director of CODE2040, a nonprofit which creates pathways to success in the innovation economy for Blacks and Latino/as. She brings to this work a background in entrepreneurship, nonprofit management, youth development, and technology. Laura has started two organizations in the education space, one nonprofit arts education organization in West Philadelphia that is currently celebrating its 10th year, and one for-profit tutoring company that gave rise to a book. Laura first explored the tech space as a project manager in a small web development shop in New York and, most recently before CODE2040, she served as VP of Product at a consumer web startup in Los Angeles, redesigning the product development process to be inclusive of engineers.

Laura is a 2013 Echoing Green and Open Society Foundations Black Male Achievement Fellow and a 2013 Stanford Social Innovation Fellow. The Root named her one of the 100 Most Influential African-Americans in 2013 and Goldman Sachs named her one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2013. Her work has been covered by The New York Times, Forbes, NBC, Bloomberg, Fast Company, NPR, and others.

Amy Schapiro

Director, Fellows Program

Amy Schapiro manages CODE2040 program operations, student and company recruitment, and other strategic pipeline partnerships. She has worked in capacity building and organizational management for organizations throughout the US and abroad. Amy earned her BA from Emory where she studied Political Science and Spanish and her MSW at Columbia. Before she moved back to her native San Francisco to help start CODE2040, she worked at EARTH University in Costa Rica leading an impact assessment study. Amy designed workforce development programs and worked in grant making in New York while at Columbia, focusing on social enterprise management. She was also the Academic Director for a Boys and Girls Club for the Bay Area and went on to lead the community management of a Nike national digital corporate responsibility campaign at YouthNoise. She also worked as an English educator at an elementary school in Spain for the Madrid Department of Education. Amy is fluent in Spanish, passionate about providing awareness and access to life-changing professional and educational opportunities for marginalized communities, and excited about cultivating an inclusive, data-driven and high-impact workforce. Follow @aschapi!

Jonathan Brack

Manager, Curriculum and Impact

For over 10 years, Jonathan Brack has been committed to educational equity. As founding director of the Berkeley Scholars to Cal (BSC) program, Jonathan developed a long term, academic-mentoring program for Black and Latino youth resulting in a 93% college-going rate. Jonathan also served as the Director of Workforce Development for the California School-Age Consortium (CalSAC) and as an independent consultant, Jonathan focused on the intersections between Youth Development, Education and Workforce Development, working with organizations such as Growth Sector, the Stuart Foundation and Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO).  Jonathan has also been a board member for the West Berkeley Foundation and co-chair of the California Workforce Innovation Network (CalWIN).  Jonathan holds a B.A. in History and a M.A. in Education from UC Berkeley.  Originally from Sacramento, he now lives in Oakland with his wife Emmile and daughter Layla. Iris Gardner

Manager, Events and Outreach

Iris Gardner has a background in higher education and tech and is dedicated to creating an equal playing field for underrepresented communities in each space. Iris joins us from the Student Outreach team at Google where she managed the Freshmen Engineering Practicum internship program, which is geared towards underrepresented students in CS. Iris also worked in the Admissions Office of her alma mater, Pomona College, ushering in a new generation of Sagehens! In her second year at Pomona, she dove into the career development space and helped launch the inaugural year of Pomona’s $10M campaign for paid summer internships. Now in its third year, the program funds 85% more students than it did in its first summer. Iris has a BA in Sociology and Politics from Pomona College and is originally from Denver, CO. Jocelyn Jarrett

Finance and Operations

Jocelyn Jarrett is a Business / Financial Consultant, Enrolled Agent, and Certified Bookkeeperwith over 20 years of financial and business development experience. She is sole proprietor of BottomLine Accounting Services. The company was founded in 1994, and specializes in training and assisting small businesses, non-profits, and individuals with a variety of business and financial matters. Prior to Jocelyn starting BottomLine Accounting Services, she held various management positions with such companies as Intel Corp., Motorola, and WorldCom. She also worked for Intuit Inc. and H&R Block as a seasonal Tax Advisor. Jocelyn has provided accounting services for several nonprofits including BUILD and has severed on several nonprofit Boards. She currently serves as the Accountant and Youth Educational Program Advisor for the NAACP – San Mateo Branch. Jocelyn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications Management with a minor in Accounting from Golden Gate University (graduated cum laude). She is currently pursuing her California Board of Accountancy CPA license. She is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and an active member of CALCPA, California Society of Accounting and Tax Professionals, California Society of Enrolled Agents, and the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers.

Bianca St. Louis

Program Coordinator

Prior to joining the team Bianca worked on the Campus Recruiting team at LinkedIn. She has also interned at the Startup America Partnership, been a volunteer leader at the White House, and a volunteer conference coordinator for the Women Ambassadors Foundation Conference. She is a graduate of Howard University, where she received her BBA in International Business and Information Systems. She is particularly interested in causes related to social action, education, and technology. With a passion for closing the divide and exposing students to opportunities available for growth, Bianca is thrilled to be on the CODE2040 staff to propel their overall vision. Follow @beLaurie!

Maybelline Gutierrez

Executive Assistant

May has worked in the administrative support profession for over six years. During that time she has helped establish two small businesses – Be LLC and Galileo Pre-School. While at Galileo she has increased pre-school enrollment by 30% through online and print marketing. In four years at Galileo she partnered with various government agencies to provide low-income families with the opportunity to afford quality education for their children. In her free time May volunteers in her community with Hands on Bay Area helping veterans with transitional housing. May is originally from Guatemala and attended The National Hispanic University where she majored in Business Administration. May is thrilled to be a part of the CODE2040 team and shares their vision in helping young Black and Latino/a students fulfill their dreams and reach their full potential.

Perry Ogwuche

2013 Fellow at Redbeacon

Perry Ogwuche is a senior studying Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). Originally from Nigeria, Perry comes from a diverse background which has made him a very well-rounded engineer. He is part of UMBC’s chapter of the National Mathematics Honorary Society – Phi Mu Epsilon and has served as a Resident Assistant at UMBC. He is was also part of the UMBC’s Student Government Association and served as a math tutor to student athletes. Perry had an internship at the Canton Group and had a transcendent experience at Redbeacon as a Fellow. His main interests are in artificial intelligence, mobile apps development, web development and philanthropy. Perry is very flexible and is always willing to learn new things. Follow Perry!
