Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei expressed strong opposition on Sunday to intervention in Iraq by the United States or anyone else, saying Iraqis themselves could bring an end to violence there, the official IRNA news agency reported.

Khamenei, who has the last word on all matters of state, added in remarks to judiciary officials that Washington aimed to keep Iraq under its control and place its own stooges in power. The conflict there was not sectarian, but was really between those who wanted Iraq in the U.S. camp and those who sought Iraq\'s independence, IRNA reported.

Episode breakdown|
As the world watches Iraq quickly descending into a failed state status under the brutal onslaught from fighters in the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, pundits, representatives form congress and no doubt members of Barack Obama\'s inner circle are wondering if it is not time to put together another coalition of the willing and re-engage the US Military in Iraq.

Before you dust off your yellow ribbons to tie round your oak tree\'s though, remember: in 2003 The United States invaded Iraq after lying to the world and the American people saying that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and was connected to Al Qaeda- and therefore connected to the 9/11 attacks.

All lies.

BREAKING: Police raid home of Malaysian pilot, Zaharie Ahmad Shah. 3 Pieces of Evidence: Transponder, Acars, Guided Flight.
MH370 Was Hijacked - A Malaysian government official has told the Associated Press the government has concluded missing Boeing 777 was hijacked.
BREAKING: Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 may have been deliberately diverted to Andaman Islands
Thai police say an Iranian man bought the airfares for two men who boarded a missing plane with stolen passports.
(BBC) Vietnamese navy planes have spotted what could be fragments from the missing Malaysia Airlines jet that disappeared almost two days ago.
Officials said it was too dark to be certain the objects were from Flight MH370, which had 239 people on board.
A multinational team is searching for wreckage and ships will try to confirm the find after dawn.

Investigators are also checking CCTV footage of two passengers who were travelling on stolen passports.
Malaysian military officials said on Sunday that the plane may have turned back from its scheduled route shortly before vanishing from radar screens, further deepening the mystery surrounding its fate.

Relatives of the missing passengers have been told to prepare for the worst.

Contact lost

Flight MH730 left Kuala Lumpur, bound for Beijing, at 00:41 local time on Saturday (16:41 GMT on Friday). But radio contact was lost at 17:30 GMT, somewhere between Malaysia and Vietnam.

Late on Sunday, the Vietnamese authorities said possible debris from the plane had been spotted in the sea off south Vietnam.

Those whose lives have been uprooted and torn apart by conflict or natural disaster, UNHCR exists to help them. This is our story.

The High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) was established in December 1950. The Second World War left over one million refugees far from home and governments in need of assistance to coordinate the crisis. UNHCR was created to help. The founders thought their task would only take three years but new conflicts broke out and more families were forced flee their homes. In 1951 we started with 34 employees. By the end of 2013 we had over 8,000 people working in 126 countries.

The conflict there was not sectarian, but was really between those who wanted Iraq in the U.S. camp and those who sought Iraq's independence, IRNA reported. "We are strongly opposed to U.S. and other (countries') intervention in Iraq," IRNA quoted Khamenei as saying. "We don't approve of it, as we believe the Iraqi government, nation and religious authorities are capable of ending the sedition. And God willing, they will do so." U.S. President Barack Obama on June 19 offered up to 300 Americans to help coordinate the fight against rapid advances by the Sunni militant Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), which has captured swatches of northern Iraq this month. But he held off granting a request for air strikes from the Shi'ite-led government of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki. "America is not pleased with the ongoing (political) process in Iraq, meaning the wide participation in the elections and selecting their own choice (of representatives), as the U.S. is seeking an Iraq under its hegemony and ruled by its stooges," Khamenei was quoted as saying, referring to an Iraqi parliamentary election in April.

A South Korean soldier has shot dead five comrades, injured five more and fled from an outpost near the border with North Korea, officials say. The army private opened fire on fellow soldiers on Saturday evening at a post in the eastern Gangwon province. It is not yet clear what motivated him to kill his colleagues. A man hunt is now under way. Tensions between the North and South have been high, but there is no sign this was a cross-border incident. "He shot dead five fellow soldiers, wounded five others and then fled the scene with his rifle and ammunition," an army spokesman was quoted by news agency AFP as saying. The shooting took place at an army unit near the border town of Goseong, according to South Korean news agency, Yonhap. Tens of thousands of soldiers from both North and South Korea are stationed along their joint border, one of the most heavily fortified in the world.

Episode breakdown| As the world watches Iraq quickly descending into a failed state status under the brutal onslaught from fighters in the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, pundits, representatives form congress and no doubt members of Barack Obama's inner circle are wondering if it is not time to put together another coalition of the willing and re-engage the US Military in Iraq. Before you dust off your yellow ribbons to tie round your oak tree's though, remember: in 2003 The United States invaded Iraq after lying to the world and the American people saying that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and was connected to Al Qaeda- and therefore connected to the 9/11 attacks. All lies. Now, as Gary Grappo writes: "Iraq is collapsing. The Middle Eastern nation, where nearly 4,500 American lives were lost and nearly one billion dollars were spent from 2003-2011 to oust a dictator and rebuild a nation, is approaching chaos, perhaps even "failed state" status." The deterioration in Syria and the invasion and spread of extremism in northern and western Iraq is putting the "cradle of civilization" under the control of the Middle East's most militant, ruthless and vile Islamic extremists. They proffer no future for the region's inhabitants other than oppression under the guise of rigid adherence to Sharia law. Extremist fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) — expelled from Al Qaida because of its extreme militancy — have seized Iraq's second largest city of Mosul and took possession of Ninewah Province, after taking Fallujah and Ramadi just west of Baghdad late last year. They quickly moved south to Samarra and Tikrit, capturing both cities with little government resistance. They also seized Iraq's largest oil refinery in Baiji. The militants have made no secret of their objective: Baghdad." Also, there are more than 50 million people in the world living as refugees for the first time since World War II, according to a UN report. The EU has agreed to lift the Syrian arms embargo. The UK and France led the effort which has now opened the door to lethal aid flowing into the hands of the Syrian rebels. The UK aid agency Oxfam has warned of "devastating consequences" if more arms are sent into Syria. Anti-war activist Richard Becker says the arms embargo never stopped western supporters of the opposition. And Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich, an independent researcher and writer, says Washington is not entirely sincere when it calls for peace talks. BREAKING: Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 may have been deliberately diverted to Andaman Islands Thai police say an Iranian man bought the airfares for two men who boarded a missing plane with stolen passports. Contact lost Flight MH730 left Kuala Lumpur, bound for Beijing, at 00:41 local time on Saturday (16:41 GMT on Friday). But radio contact was lost at 17:30 GMT, somewhere between Malaysia and Vietnam. Late on Sunday, the Vietnamese authorities said possible debris from the plane had been spotted in the sea off south Vietnam. "We received information from a Vietnamese plane saying that they found two broken objects, which seem like those of an aircraft, located about 50 miles to the south-west of Tho Chu Island," an unnamed official from the National Committee for Search and Rescue told AFP news agency. "As it is night they cannot fish them out for proper identification. They have located the position of the areas and flown back to the land," he added. The potential debris was in a similar area to a possible oil slick seen by Vietnamese navy planes on Saturday, but officials have cautioned that this too may be nothing to do with the disappearance of Flight MH370.
