Put into bat, the Netherlands scored a modest 133 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs with Wesley Barresi top-scoring with 48 and then their bowlers wreaked havoc to bundle England out for just 88 in 17.4 overs at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. Logan van Beek (3/9) and Mudassar Bukhari (3/12) were the main tormentors of England batsmen while Timm van der Gugten and captain Peter Borren chipped in with a wicket apiece. This was England's second defeat at the hands of minnows Netherlands in World Twenty20. The Netherlands had beaten England in the 2009 edition at Lord's. With Monday's result, England and the Netherlands -- both already knocked out of the tournament before the Group 1 match -- ended on identical two points with a win each from four matches. Chasing 134 for a victory, England kept losing wickets at regular intervals with only three batsmen -- Ravi Bopara (18), Chris Jordan (14) and opener Alex Hales (12) -- reaching the double-digit mark. None of the England batsmen could show stomach for fight as the Netherlands excelled in all departments of the game. The English seemed clueless against the Netherlands bowlers and their highest partnership in the run chase was the 22 between Bopara and Jordan for the seventh wicket. Bukhari got the first breakthrough when he bowled in-form Hales and he then added Michael Lumb's wicket to his kitty to leave England struggling at 19 for two in 4.1 overs. With wickets of Moeen Ali (3), Eoin Morgan (6) and Jos Buttler (6) falling in quick succession, England top and middle order were back in the pavilion, reeling at 52 for six. Bopara and Jordan tried to bring the team back on track but van Beek claimed the former's wicket to end all hopes of England. It was just a matter of time before England folded for a mere 88 runs to suffer a shock defeat. Far-Right Dutch MP Seeks Tie-In With UKIP
A Dutch MP who leads a far-right party in the Netherlands has said he hopes to join forces with UKIP and Marine Le Pen's Front Nationale in the European Parliament. Geert Wilders, founder of the Dutch Party for Freedom (PVV), told Sky News: "I hope that after the elections in May ... Mr Farage and my party ... can work together because I know one thing: if we really want to be a good advocate of all those millions of voters (who) cast their vote not against Europe but against the European Union, that they would benefit more if we were able to overstep our shadows and work together." The 50-year-old politician is the subject of a fatwa and death threats from al Qaeda affiliates for his comments on Islam, has already proposed a deal with Ms Le Pen, who runs the Front Nationale, to unite their parties. Both propose reigning in immigration, leaving the single currency and taking their respective countries out of the EU altogether, while continuing to access the single market. It is an uncompromising position which appears to have chimed with many voters. Polls in France and the Netherlands put the parties in either first or second place of those intending to vote in this month's parliamentary elections. Front Nationale's Marine le Pen has also been approached Ms Le Pen and Mr Wilders have also tried to convince other populist, EU critical parties around Europe to join forces including Vlaams Belang in Belgium, Finland's Finns Party and the relatively new Alternative for Germany. All are expected to make significant gains in this year's elections, although polls across Europe suggest left-leaning pro-EU parties are expected to edge a small majority. The same surveys suggest a move to the extremes from the centre ground after years of recession and austerity brought about by the global recession and sovereign debt crisis. Mr Wilders has been mired in controversy again after he asked supporters at a rally in March whether they wanted "more or fewer" Moroccans in the Netherlands. When the audience started chanting "fewer, fewer," the PVV leader said "we will take care of that". That remark prompted several people to leave the party and 5,000 complaints to the public prosecutors accusing him of inciting racial hatred. Mr Wilders said: "I believe that our culture which is based on Christianity and Judaism and humanism is better than the Islamic culture. "I've nothing against the people but I have a problem with the culture. I'm not afraid of that. "In the world today, in the Netherlands today, Europe today, you pay a very high price to say that: you get taken to court you get a fatwa, you get called a bigot and a racist. Once again it's not true." The UKIP leader has said he is "not interested" in the offer of joining forces with Mr Wilders. Mr Farage already chairs an anti-EU grouping in the European Parliament called the Europe of Freedom and Democracy, and it is clear he sees any association with Mr Wilders or Ms Le Pen as potentially damaging. But the UKIP leader may face renewed pressure to strike deals with the biggest EU critical parties if he wants to make waves in Brussels and Strasbourg.- published: 03 May 2014

Rwandan and Congolese groups opposed to Rwandan President Paul Kagame s rule have asked the International Criminal Court to investigate him for alleged war crimes for backing rebel groups in eastern Congo. A small group gathered outside the court in The Hague Netherlands with banners reading Kagame Assassin and Freedom for Congo. The gesture is symbolic as Court Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda has not said whether she has any plans to investigate Kagame - though she is already investigating members of the M23 rebel group in eastern Congo that was formed this April with alleged ties to his regime across the border. Kagame denies involvement. Christopher Black a lawyer for the groups that want Kagame to be prosecuted said on Friday that Bensouda need only turn to the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda to launch a case against Kagame asserting it has a mountain of evidence against him in its archives. Kagame has been an important military leader in Rwanda since 1990 and its president since 2000. The Rwanda tribunal itself based in Tanzania never pressed any charges against Kagame. Kagame an ethnic Tutsi has a history of intervention in eastern Congo. Protestors outside the International Criminal Court Friday seemed most concerned with Kagame s possible involvement in events of the 1990s especially leading up to and after the 1994 genocide. But the ICC would only have jurisdiction over any war crimes he committed after it came into being in 2002. Kagame has long been seen as a key ally for Western powers in central Africa. But Friday s demand for action follows a report issued by the U.N. in July that accused high-ranking Rwandan officials of helping to create arm and support the current M23 rebellion within Congo. A bipartisan group of US legislators on August 3 also sent a strongly worded letter to Kagame saying they are absolutely convinced that Rwanda is involved in supporting the unrest in eastern Congo.
