Fake Empire Productions is the production company that was formed in 2010 by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage to develop and produce television series and feature films. Their most notable productions include the series ''Gossip Girl'' (developed by Schwartz and Savage), ''Chuck'' (co-created by Schwartz and Chris Fedak), and ''Hart of Dixie'' (created by Leila Gerstein and produced by Schwartz, Savage, and their producing partner Len Goldstein). The company was formed to focus on television projects and produce films, with the intent of branching out into online series, music and books. Schwartz formerly operated under the banner of College Hill Pictures, Inc., which folded in the making of Fake Empire.

Overseen by Len Goldstein, the television division of Fake Empire is based at Warner Bros. TV, which distributes the ''Gossip Girl'', ''Chuck'' and ''Hart of Dixie'' television series. The film division of the company is based at Paramount Pictures and is run by Lis Rowinski.

Logo

The company's end-of-credits logo for College Hill (top right) used to be a note pad with 'College Hill Pictures, Inc.' written on the subject line. This logo was used for all seasons of ''The O.C.'' and for the first three seasons of both ''Gossip Girl'' and ''Chuck''.

The new company's Fake Empire logo is a sketch pad with key features of the show drawn onto the pad with the name Fake Empire underneath. The pictures that are drawn onto the sketch pad for the end of Chuck's logo are sketches of a laptop, the Nerd Herd car, a pair of Converse, a gun and a pocket protector (above).

On ''Gossip Girl'''s logo are sketches of a cell phone, a New York cab, a pair of shoes (which is a reference to the fashion on the show) and two New York sights (middle right).

On ''Hart of Dixie'''s (bottom right) logo there are sketches of the town gazebo, George Tucker's pick-up truck, Zoe's stethoscope (which ties into the medical aspect of the show), a pair of high heel shoes and Burt Reynolds (the mayor's pet alligator).

Productions in development

According to Deadline.com Fake Empire is set to produce and develop the Let It Snow novel into a feature film. The book is an anthology of three short stories and the plan is to make the film into a teenage Love Actually. The script will be written by Jordan Roter.

Fake Empire are also set to develop a book named ''Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick'' into a feature film. It was annoced that Schwartz was set to write and direct the Jay McInerney novel, Bright Lights, Big City with Fake Empire producing.

Schwartz will make his directorial debut with the fall 2012 release of the Paramount feature ''Fun Size,'' a Halloween comedy written by Max Werner and produced by Fake Empire and Anonymous Content. ''Fun Size'' follows the quest of a high school girl who enlists the help of her best friend and two nerds when she loses her little brother on Halloween. The movie stars Victoria Justice, Johnny Knoxville, and Chelsea Handler. In an interview with MTV, Victoria Justice described the movie as ''Superbad'' meets ''Adventures in Babysitting''. Fun Size will be released on October 12, 2012.

On July 13th 2011, The Hollywood Reporter released the news that Fake Empire would be producing an upcoming film adaption of The Luxe (book series) to be also produced by Alloy Entertainment (who also produce the Fake Empire produced TV series Gossip Girl). The producers see the movie as a young Moulin Rouge, a music-driven story featuring contemporary artists and fashion set against a period backdrop.

It was revealed on August 16th 2011, that a spin-off prequel TV series based on the Sex and the City TV series and The Carrie Diaries book series was in development with Fake Empire Productions to produce. On January 18, 2012, a pilot was ordered by The CW.

On September 30th 2011, it was reported that Fake Empire had sold a half-hour comedy pilot script to FOX. The show is about three childhood friends who are now fathers. The script is written by Barry Schwartz, who is also set to co-executive produce.

It was reported on October 19, 2011 that Fake Empire would be adapting the UK TV series Misfits into a US series. The series revolves around teenagers who find themselves in an electric storm which gives them superpowers. Creator of the UK series, Howard Overman will help to pen the US script and will be an executive producer.

The Hollywood Reporter said that a novel named ''Forgotten'', written by ''Cat Patrick'' is to be turned into a movie with Fake Empire to produce. The movie's screenplay will be written by Oren Uziel (True Grit).

Paramount Pictures has acquired The Likeness, a novel by Tana French for Stephanie Savage to adapt and to produce with Josh Schwartz through Fake Empire. The book is a squeal to a 2008 novel named Into the Woods, which Paramount has also acquired.

On January 4, 2012, The CW ordered a pilot from Fake Empire Productions named ''Cult''. This was The CW's first pilot order of the season and if the series is ordered then the show will serve as a miniseries. The show centers on a series of mysterious disappearances that are linked to a TV series named Cult. Alona Tal, Jessica Lucas and Robert Knepper have all been cast in the pilot.

Failed productions

Fake Empire produced the television pilot ''Georgetown'' for ABC in 2011, but the pilot was not picked up to series. It starred Jimmy Wolk, Katie Cassidy, Kevin Zegers, Daisy Betts, Joe Mazzello, and Condola Rashad.

"Fake Empire" is a song by Brooklyn-based indie rock band The National from their fourth studio album, ''Boxer''. The song was released in June 2008 as the album's third and final single.

Production

"Fake Empire" was written by Bryce Dessner of The National. Commenting on the song's initial concept, he said, "Conceptually I said I would love to write a song that was based on a certain polyrhythm, the four-over-three pattern, which is what you hear in the piano. It's something I, personally, have never heard in rock music. What's interesting is the song sounds like it's in four, but it's in three. The harmonies and the way I'm playing the piano music are actually incredibly simple – sort of like "Chopsticks" simple – with this really weird rhythm. At the end we said, 'Oh, wouldn't it be cool if we had a horn fanfare?' so Padma [Newsome] wrote this very Steve Reichian minimalist horn fanfare."

Promotion

The National made their network television debut when they performed "Fake Empire" on ''The Late Show with David Letterman'' on July 24, 2007. In the television series ''Chuck'', the song appeared in the episode "Chuck Versus the Break-up" on October 13, 2008. "Fake Empire" also played during the final scene of the pilot episode of NBC's police drama ''Southland'', as well as over the concluding scene and credits of the 2008 film ''Battle in Seattle''. An instrumental version of the song was featured in Barack Obama's campaign video "Signs of Hope and Change" during his 2008 United States presidential campaign, and the song was also played at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. The members of The National supported the presidential candidate; they put Obama's face on a fundraising t-shirt with the text "Mr. November," taken from the name of a song from the band's third album, ''Alligator''. In the fifth season premiere episode of the teen drama television series ''One Tree Hill'', several songs by The National were featured, including "Fake Empire."

Reception

Allmusic considered "Fake Empire" one of The National's best songs, and described it as a song that "begins as a dead-of-night ballad that echoes Leonard Cohen, then peppy brass and guitars turn it into something joyous." Mark Mordue of ''WAToday'' called "Fake Empire" "one of the great rock'n'roll songs" of 2007. He described it as "a romantic-sounding tune marked by a quiet declaration that 'We're half awake in a fake empire,' [which] married the lonely-guy blues of a New York night to a veiled critique of American imperialism. In short, it expressed the feelings of being lost inside a dream." ''Stylus Magazine'' ranked "Fake Empire" as the 7th-best song of 2007.

Malcolm McCormick (born January 19, 1992), known by his stage name Mac Miller (previously Easy Mac), is an American rapper from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is signed to Rostrum Records and released his debut album ''Blue Slide Park'' on November 8, 2011.

Early life

Malcolm McCormick was born on January 19, 1992, the son of an architect and a photographer, and raised in the Point Breeze part of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His father is Christian and his mother is Jewish; Miller was raised Jewish and had a Bar Mitzvah. Before attending Taylor Allderdice High School, Miller attended Winchester Thurston School. In high school, Miller decided to focus on his hip-hop career, later noting, "Once I hit 15, I got real serious about it and it changed my life completely ... I used to be into sports, play all the sports, go to all the high school parties. But once I found out hip-hop is almost like a job, that's all I did." Miller, a self-taught musician, plays piano, guitar, drums, and bass.

Career

Before embarking on a solo career, Miller was part of rap group The Ill Spoken together with fellow Pittsburgh rapper, Beedie. The Ill Spoken released the mixtape ''How High'' in 2008. Prior to changing his name to Mac Miller, he was known as EZ Mac and released the mixtape ''But My Mackin Ain't Easy'' in 2007 at 15 years old. In 2009 Mac Miller released two mixtapes ''The Jukebox: Prelude to Class Clown'' and ''The High Life'' before getting signed to Rostrum Records.

In early 2010, Miller signed with Rostrum Records. Rostrum president Benjy Grinberg met Miller while recording with Wiz Khalifa at ID Labs. Although Grinberg started giving Miller advice, he didn't show any interest in getting involved with his career until the artist began work on the ''K.I.D.S.'' mixtape, when, as he later told HitQuarters, Grinberg "noticed a maturation in his sound and approach to his music." By that point Miller had started attracting interest from different record companies but chose Rostrum due to its location in his hometown and association with Wiz Khalifia. K.I.D.S. was released by the label in August 2010. The mixtape was inspired by the movie Kids. A significant breakthrough came in late 2010 when Miller embarked on his first "Incredibly Dope Tour", selling out at every location on the tour.

Miller's 5th release was a mixtape titled ''Best Day Ever''. The mixtape features his single "Donald Trump" and the hit songs "Wear My Hat", "BDE Bonus" and "All Around The World." The mixtape featured mainstream producers such as Just Blaze, 9th Wonder, and Chuck Inglish. On November 22, 2010 his first single "Knock Knock" premiered its video on YouTube.

On March 29, 2011, he released an EP called ''On And On And Beyond''. The six-track work was produced by Rostrum Records.

On July 5, 2011, Miller announced the title of his first album ''Blue Slide Park'' on his YouTube channel, set for a Fall release. In September 2011 it was revealed that Miller would release a mixtape titled ''92 Til Infinity'' hosted by DJ Jazzy Jeff prior to the release of ''Blue Slide Park''.

Prior to his 2011 national Blue Slide Park tour, Miller traveled Europe on his "Incredibly Dope Tour" visiting cities such as London, Manchester, and Amsterdam.

On October 14, 2011, Mac Miller released a 13 song mixtape called ''I Love Life, Thank You'' for reaching 1,000,000 followers on Twitter. It had features from Sir Michael Rocks of The Cool Kids, Talib Kweli, and Bun B.

On November 2011, ''Blue Slide Park'' debuted at number 1 on the ''Billboard'' 200 with first week sales of 144,000 copies.

On March 23, 2012, Mac Miller released his seventh mixtape called ''Macadelic''. He released "Loud" as a single off the mixtape as well as filiming a music video. Miller also released a video for "Thoughts From A Balcony".

Awards and honors

In 2009 at age 17, he made it to the final four in Rhyme Calisthenics, the MC competition at Shadow Lounge. In 2010, he won two awards at the Pittsburgh hip-hop awards. His video "Live Free" won video of the year and he also won Best Artist Under 21. In September 2011 Maroon 5 announced that Mac Miller will be featured on their remix of their top chart song "Moves Like Jagger". In 2011 Miller was one of eleven rappers featured in XXL magazine's Freshman Class of 2011. The video for the first single released from this mixtape, "Donald Trump", has reached over 53 million views on YouTube and Donald Trump himself, who is referenced on the song, acknowledged the video on the social networking site Twitter when it reached 20 million views stating "Who wouldn't be flattered?". He declared that Miller was the “new Eminem,” and stated “I am very proud of him.” Endorsements by Donald Trump helped Miller become increasingly more popular. The song also charted on iTunes debuting at #73 and peaking at #40, before Miller was signed to a major label. In 2011, his first TV appearance took place in the VH1 show Single Ladies; he played a fictionalized version of himself that succeeded in selling one of his mixtapes to one of the main characters. Also in 2011, he was a part of MTV Jams Fab Five artists.

Musical philosophy

Mac Miller includes Big L, Lauryn Hill, The Beastie Boys, Outkast, and A Tribe Called Quest among his influences. He also has a close relationship with fellow Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa, saying "Wiz has been a big brother to me with this music thing so far. Our relationship is beyond music. He really is just my homie, whether I will be making music or not."

Tokio Hotel is a rock band from Germany, founded in 2001 by singer Bill Kaulitz, guitarist Tom Kaulitz, drummer Gustav Schäfer and bassist Georg Listing. The quartet have scored four number one singles and have released three number one albums in their native country, selling nearly 5 million CDs and DVDs there. After recording an unreleased demo-CD under the name "Devilish" and having their contract with Sony BMG Germany terminated, the band released their first German-language album, ''Schrei'', as Tokio Hotel on Universal Music Germany in 2005. ''Schrei'' sold more than half a million copies worldwide and spawned four top five singles in both Germany and Austria. In 2007, the band released their second German album ''Zimmer 483'' and their first English album ''Scream'' which have combined album sales of over one million copies worldwide and helped win the band their first MTV Europe Music Award for Best InterAct. The former, ''Zimmer 483'', spawned three top five singles in Germany while the latter, ''Scream'', spawned two singles that reached the top twenty in new territories such as France, Portugal, Spain and Italy. In September 2008, they won in the US their first MTV Video Music Award (VMA) for Best New Artist. In October 2008, they won four awards including Best International Artist and Song of the year at Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica (MTV Video Music Awards Latin America) held in Mexico. Tokio Hotel became the first German band ever to win an award at the MTV VMAs and also at the MTV Latin America Awards. In July 2011, they became the first German band to win an MTV Video Music Awards Japan (VMAJ). And won MTV's 2012 Musical March Madness.

History

''Formation'' (2001 - 2004)

Tokio Hotel by vocalist Bill Kaulitz and guitarist Tom Kaulitz, who are identical twin brothers, drummer Gustav Schäfer and bass-guitarist Georg Listing. The four met in 2001 after a live show in a Magdeburg-Club, where Listing and Schäfer, who knew each other from music school, watched from the audience while Bill and Tom Kaulitz played on the stage. Under the name Devilish, the band soon began playing in talent shows and small concerts. After Bill Kaulitz's participation in a children's Star Search in 2003 at age thirteen (which he lost in the quarter-final), he was discovered by music producer Peter Hoffmann. Devilish changed their name to Tokio Hotel: "Tokio", the German spelling of the Japanese city Tokyo, due to a love of the city, and "Hotel" due to their constant touring and living in hotels. In 2006, a third and fourth single, "Rette mich" ("Rescue Me") and "Der letzte Tag" ("The Final Day"), were released; both reached #1 as well. "Der letzte Tag" contained a B-side called "Wir schließen uns ein", which was also accompanied by a music video.

''Zimmer 483'' (2007 - 2008)

The first single off their second album ''Zimmer 483'' (''Room 483''), called "Übers Ende der Welt" (later re-released in English under the name "Ready, Set, Go!"), was released on January 26, 2007 and quickly reached #1 in Germany and Austria, and #2 in France. ''Zimmer 483'' was released in Germany on February 23, 2007, along with a deluxe edition of the album containing a DVD. The album's second single, "Spring nicht" ("Don't Jump") was released on April 7. The tour accompanying the release of the album, The Zimmer 483 Tour, was scheduled to start in March 2007, but was delayed by two weeks because the band members wished to have a different stage design. A third single, "An deiner Seite (Ich bin da)" ("By Your Side"), was released on November 16. The single contains the B-side "1000 Meere" ("1000 Oceans"), for which a music video was also produced. On April 28, 2008 Tokio Hotel released their single "Heilig" but no music video for the single was released, because of the tight schedule they had.

''Scream'' (2007 - 2008)

Tokio Hotel's first English language album, ''Scream'', was released on June 4, 2007 throughout Europe. In Germany, the album was released as ''Room 483'' in order to emphasize the continuity with their last German album ''Zimmer 483''. ''Scream'' contains English versions of a selection of songs from their German-language albums ''Scream'' and ''Zimmer 483''. "Monsoon", the English-language version of "Durch den Monsun", was the first single from the album. "Ready, Set, Go!" (the translation of "Übers Ende der Welt") was released as the album's second single and "Don't Jump" (the translation of "Spring nicht") as the third single. A video for "Scream", the English-language version of their 2005 hit "Schrei", was also recorded, and was released to the iTunes Store in early March 2008.

Tokio Hotel gave their first concert in the United Kingdom on June 19, 2007. "Ready, Set, Go!" was released in the UK as the band's first single on August 27, 2007. The song reached #77 in the UK Singles Chart.

Tokio Hotel won an MTV Europe Music Award for Best InterAct on November 1, 2007 and were also nominated for Best Band. They performed "Monsoon" at the event.

Tokio Hotel released their first US single, simply called "Tokio Hotel", in late 2007. The single contains the tracks "Scream" and "Ready, Set, Go!", and was available exclusively at Hot Topic stores. Their second US single, "Scream America", was released on December 11, 2007. The single contains the track "Scream" and a remix of "Ready, Set, Go!" by AFI's Jade Puget. In February 2008, the band toured North America for five dates starting in Canada and finishing up in New York. After appearing and performing live on MuchMusic, while touring in Canada, "Ready, Set, Go!" entered the MuchOnDemand Daily 10, a countdown of videos chosen by viewers. It remained there for over a week, then returned to the top of the MOD Daily 10 chart on April 8. "Scream" was released in Canada on March 25 and in the US on May 6. The "1000 Hotels" European Tour began on March 3, 2008 in Brussels and continued to locations including The Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Scandinavia, and was scheduled to finish on April 9; during the concert in Marseille, France on March 14, Bill started to experience vocal problems. He let the audience sing more frequently than normal and instead of the original 21 songs that were on the set list, they only played 16 songs. Bill apologized, in German, for his bad singing and explained that he was sick. Two days later, the band canceled Lisbon, Portugal concert minutes before it was supposed to commence. The rest of the "1000 Hotels" Tour and a scheduled North American Tour were cancelled following an announcement in Bild by the band's manager that Bill Kaulitz had to undergo surgery to remove a cyst on his vocal cords.

Bill Kaulitz had been putting strain on his voice after playing 43 concerts in the 1000 Hotels tour without vacation. He had to undergo Larynx surgery on March 30 to remove a cyst that had formed on his vocal cords. The cyst was the result of a throat infection that went untreated. Following his surgery, Bill was unable to speak for twelve days, and had four weeks of vocal rehabilitation. If Bill had continued singing the rest of the tour, his voice would have eventually been permanently damaged. Tokio Hotel started performing again in May 2008 and after that they embarked on a 2nd part of their 1000 Hotels European Tour adding many Open Air concerts and wrapping up the tour on July 13 in Werchter, Belgium.

North American Tours and ''Humanoid'' (2009 - 2010)

Tokio Hotel embarked on a second tour of North America in August 2008, which included a performance at the Bamboozled festival in New Jersey. The band's music video for "Ready Set Go!" was nominated for Best Pop Video at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, where they also won the award for Best New Artist. They returned to North America again in October 2008 for a month long tour of concerts and record store signings. In December 2008, a behind-the scenes DVD called ''Tokio Hotel TV – Caught on Camera'' was released. It contains footage from Tokio Hotel TV and backstage feature stories of the previous year on disc one entitled "History – The very best of Tokio Hotel TV!". A deluxe edition contains a second disc entitled "Future – The road to the new Album!" which features footage of the band on promotion tours and preparing for their third studio album.

In between the North American tours, the band returned to their record studio in Hamburg to record their third studio album, ''Humanoid'', which, according to their producer David Jost, is currently set for release on October 2 in Germany & October 6, 2009 in the U.S. This is despite earlier statements predicting a March/April 2009 release or a May/June 2009 release. The album was recorded in both German and English with both versions were released simultaneously worldwide. Nevertheless, the video for the single was released on September 3.

On November 2, it was announced on Tom's Blog that the second English single would be "World Behind My Wall" and its German counterpart, "Lass uns laufen", would be the second German single. The music videos for both versions were released on December 14 and December 15.

On June 24, the live music video for their single, "Dark Side of the Sun" was released on the band website.

On July 20, 2010 they released their second live album Humanoid City Live from Milan, Italy On November 22, 2010, their new song "Hurricanes and Suns," premiered on the Greek radio station Mad Radio. It was included in the bonus track on all versions of "Tokio Hotel: Best Of," a compilation album of their most successful songs. As well as the single for the 'Best of' release. The album will also include "Mädchen aus dem All", the first song the band recorded in a studio.

On December 14, 2010 their 'Best of' was released. December 2 was the World Premiere of the video for "Hurricanes and Suns" on their Official Website. On April 28, 2011 they received the "Fan Army FTW" award at the MTV O Music Awards, the networks first online award show. A clip of Bill and Tom thanking their fans was played after the winner was announced.

Tokio Hotel performed their first concert in Asia (excluding their concert in Israel) at the Audi Showcase in Singapore, followed shortly by the TM Connects With Tokio Hotel event in Malaysia, promoting the sales of their album Humanoid. They concluded the series of mini-concerts with Taiwan. They returned to Malaysia a couple of months later to perform at MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2010. They performed in Tokyo on December 15, 2010, after their South American Tour concluded in Distrito Federal, Mexico on December 2, 2010. In February, 2011 Tokio Hotel travelled to Japan to complete a second promo tour. A number of TV appearances and media interviews took place between February 8 and February 11.

On June 24, 2011 Tokio Hotel performed in Japan at “The Next Premium Night Tokio Hotel in Tokyo". The event was presented by Audi A1 and 150 fans were chosen to win tickets to attend the show. The event was the bands first acoustic performance in Japan. On June 25, 2011 the band performed live at the MTV Video Music Aid Japan in Tokyo. The show, which was formerly called the Video Music Awards Japan, was used as a music benefit to raise money for the Japanese Red Cross in order to help those who were affected by the recent earthquake.

Modeling and commercials

On January 19, 2010, lead singer Bill Kaulitz teamed up with twins Dean and Dan Caten of DSquared to walk the runway at a fashion event in Milan. Kaulitz made two appearances, as he opened and closed DSquared's Menswear Autumn/Winter 2010 show to Tokio Hotel song "Screamin".

Car maker Audi hired the two frontmen to star in their new advertising campaign to attract the younger generation. They were featured in an episode of Tokio Hotel TV (on Tokio Hotel's website) and also in a commercial.

On August 4, 2010, Tom Kaulitz got his own Reebok shoe commercial. Reebok signed the 20-year-old Tokio Hotel guitarist and sneaker addict to model shoes for the company. "At home, I created a little room like a little storage room," he said of his sneakers. He also said that he gets 10 new pairs a week.

Matthew Scott Porter (born July 14, 1979), better known as Scott Porter, is an American actor and occasional singer known for his role as Jason Street in the NBC television drama ''Friday Night Lights''. His character was injured during a football game in the pilot episode and became disabled. The character was inspired by David Edwards, a high school football player.

Porter was paired with Alyson Michalka and Vanessa Hudgens in the 2009 film ''Bandslam'' featuring his song "Pretend" in the album. In 2010, he played the role of Blake, a law firm investigator, in CBS's legal drama ''The Good Wife''.

He stars as George Tucker in The CW comedy-drama series ''Hart of Dixie''.

Life and career

Porter was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but later moved to Winter Park, Florida and attended Lake Howell High School. Prior to joining the cast of ''Friday Night Lights'', Porter played Matthew in the original cast of the Off-Broadway hit ''Altar Boyz'' in 2004. In 2006, he temporarily took over the role of Casey Hughes in the soap opera ''As the World Turns'', a role originally performed by Zach Roerig. Porter also played the role of Colin Thompson, the more visible part of the duo that fronts the fictional band PoP!, in the movie ''Music and Lyrics'' (2007). Porter also played the character Rex in the film ''Speed Racer'' (2008), which was directed and written by the Wachowski brothers. He played Bobby in the remake of ''Prom Night'' and Ben Wheatly in ''Bandslam'', released in August 2009. In the latter film, he co-starred alongside Aly Michalka, Gaelan Connell, Vanessa Hudgens, and Lisa Kudrow. In the same year, he was also paired with ''The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants'' star Alexis Bledel in the romantic comedy film ''The Good Guy'', which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Porter is a fan of comic books and has auditioned for several comic book hero roles. He is also purportedly a fan of HeroClix. Porter performed and sang the song "Someone to Fall Back On" in ''Bandslam'', and his song "Pretend" was included in the soundtrack. He was part of his high school's choral department and was a founding member of the groups 4:2:Five and Mosaic. He eventually performed for Off Broadway with another A Cappella band named Toxic Audio.

Porter portrayed Randy in the 2010 feature film ''Dear John'', which was adapted from the novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks.

In 2010, Porter joined the cast of CBS's legal drama ''The Good Wife'' as Blake, an investigator for a law firm. Also in 2010, Porter starred in the pilot of the television series ''Nomads'', which was developed for The CW, but it was not picked up by the network. BuddyTV ranked him #10 on its "TV's 100 Sexiest Men of 2010" list and #34 in 2011.

Porter plays a lawyer in the medical drama series ''Hart of Dixie'' alongside Rachel Bilson. The series debuted on The CW in September 2011.
