Believe in second chances..
[first lines]::Larry: Señora Lunchinski, forgive me for writing to you when we do not know each other. Like so many people who live on this island, I came from another country to find a new beginning. To put myself on the map. One of the forces that drew me was the extraordinary power of your late husband's music. It's a tragedy that there's never been a celebration of his work here on the island. What I'm proposing is a magnificent and unusual concert. We all have our passions, which are so intense to ourselves, but seem insignificant to others. It would mean so much of you would listen to my proposal, and perhaps share my dream.
Miranda: So how long are you here for, Dickie?::Dickie: Well if all goes well, for the rest of my life.::Miranda: Wow, that's a commitment. I've been here for seven years, and I love it, you know. There's something about the air that kind of erogenizes you.::Dickie: Hmm. Sounds perfect, have my babies.::Miranda: Actually, I can't have children. Um, I was in New York, got a nasty S.T.D. The doctor said it cut me up and left me sterile, but with a "Jackson Pollack" on my womb. So I'm useless, but decorative. If you like abstract art.
Dickie: [at grave] What are you doing here?::Helena: I'm just visiting Valentin.::Dickie: Oh him. The great decomposer.
[last lines]::Dickie: I don't know what happens next.::Sebastian Burrows: What happens next... is two lads build a raft, out of anything they can find, but it's all wood, plastic panels... And they lash 'em together. And in the dead of the night, they creep out of the house, and set off down the stream. And they don't know where they're going. They know that dawn will come, and that they're going on this adventure together.
