An emotional Narendra Modi broke down in Parliament on Tuesday after he was unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party. Modi hailed the strength of the democracy saying that the son of a poor man was now on the verge of becoming the Prime Minister of the country. Modi praised the elections calling them a verdict of hope. Modi's name was proposed by an extremely emotional LK Advani and seconded by other senior leaders including Murli Manohar Joshi, Venkaiah Naidu, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley.
