Commander T'Pol /tɨˈpɒl/ is a fictional character played by Jolene Blalock in Star Trek: Enterprise. She is a Vulcan who serves as the science officer aboard the starship Enterprise.
According to producer Rick Berman, it was originally intended that a younger version of T'Pau would be the Vulcan officer serving on the titular starship in Star Trek: Enterprise. Instead, after determining there were legal difficulties in using the original series character, the producers created T'Pol.
T'Pol is the first Vulcan officer to serve a prolonged term on a human vessel. The previous record was 10 days; by comparison, T'Pol served aboard the Enterprise for ten years (2151–2161). As a Sub-Commander serving the Vulcan High Command, she was stationed aboard the Enterprise in April 2151, as an observer to Captain Jonathan Archer and his crew, who the High Command insisted were not ready for interstellar space exploration. After the success of the Enterprise's initial mission led to the vessel being given an extended exploration mandate, T'Pol requested to stay aboard.
Jolene King Blalock (born March 5, 1975) is an American film and television actress and model, perhaps best known for playing the Vulcan T'Pol on the UPN science fiction series Star Trek: Enterprise. She is a regular guest star in television films and series and has appeared in a few feature films.
A popular model, Blalock left home at 17 to model in Europe and Asia. She has appeared on the cover of many men's lifestyle magazines, was twice featured in Maxim's "Girls of Maxim" gallery and was named the 10th sexiest woman in the world in 2005 by FHM. She posed for a clothed fashion layout in Playboy in April 2002. She was later interviewed by the magazine for its "20Q" section in February 2005.
Blalock spent years dieting as a model and was relieved to move into acting, saying: "I'm jaded by my experiences in the modelling industry. You're never skinny or perfect enough, and it was difficult mentally making the transition to acting."
She made her television debut in sitcom Veronica's Closet, before guest appearances in The Love Boat: The Next Wave, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, JAG, and starring as Medea in a 2000 television movie adaptation of Jason and the Argonauts. She also appeared in On the Edge and the mini-series The Diamond Hunters before being cast in Star Trek: Enterprise.
I do not want to
I do not need to
I do not have to
What I did I did for
What I did I did for
What I did I did for me
I feel so lonely
Cause no one loves me
I feel so lonely
Full of self-pity
No one cares for me
I feel so ugly
(What I did I did for...)
Make a cut in yourself
A little opening for the pain to get in
And if you could be true
And if you loved me too
Then I would not have to
No love should come for free
What I do I do for
No love should come for...
Now you're coming through the backdoor
How did you get there
Do I mind?
That's a question for the asking
How did you get there
Do I mind?
Will you linger a little longer
While I wonder
Watch me wear my ruse
Awake your world
And run with fools
Now I'm coming through the backdoor
How did I get here
Do I mind?
In an eerie sort of way
I sense you reaching
Do I mind
Will you linger a little longer
Music box won't you sing me a lullaby
I'll grind my ship upon your rocks, just keep singing that lullaby
I've wanted nothing more than this
Fingers blister from your kiss
This impatience burns within, within
I feel a pull
Irrational
It's just as if you planned it
I won't let go until I'm full
I'm locked inside your music box
(music box etc...)
For every hour I'm exposed the longing in me grows
The excitement builds within, within
And it is cruelty to hide all the mysteries inside
I've wanted nothing more than this, than this
I feel a pull, it's animal
Your smile is underhanded
I won't let go until I'm full
I'm locked inside your music box
Save a dance for me,
I'll take the card that's free
You're my kindred, my kindred.
Everything you'll ever need,
I give to you for free,
You're my kindred, my kindred.
Now I bind you to me
Now I hold you to me
Now I keep you with me
Always.
If you should ever fall,
Don't be afraid at all
You're my kindred, my kindred.
Though you loose faith in me
Faithful I'll always be
You're my kindred, my kindred.
I sense the need in you
You see the need in me
You're my kindred, my kindred.
If you should fall from grace
I shall restore your place
I can see it in your face
Don't think that I don't recognise it
I was adored once too
Soon you'll be bitter and old my dear
We'll see about these feelings you have
They'll be the death of you
Needy, wanting, guilty, laden...
There ain't enough to go 'round in this world
It's alright...
Take a good look around my dear
You'll see what everyone can see
You've been a fool for love
Wipe off those snivelling tears
And wean yourself from this dependency
It's just not pretty
Needy, wanting, guilty, laden...
There ain't enough to go 'round in this world
Sometimes I feel lonely and I crave human company
I miss sleep it's nice, haven't had much of it 'round here
Sometimes I feel sorrow and there's no way to release it
It wells up inside, don't have no one here with whom to share it,
Except you, you're nice
Sometimes I feel guilty and I wish I could absolve it
I miss peace it's nice, haven't had much of it 'round here lately
I miss peace, it's nice.
I've had better days...
There's no way to break through
I'm trying to break through
'cause I feel in slow-mo
And there's no way to break through
'cause I feel in slo-mo
Sometimes I feel joyous and there's no way to explain it
it burns me inside, never lasts long enough to become a custom
I miss this, it's nice
Sometimes I feel jealous and I'm not sure that I like it,
It hurts me inside, don't quite have the strength in me to remove it,
I miss you, you're nice.
I've had better days...
There's no way to breakthrough...
Sometimes I feel a burden and I wish I could remove me
Do you like me, that's nice
Haven't seen much of me 'round here lately
Do you miss me, that's nice
Sometimes I think I'm drowning and I wish someone would save me
That's not likely now
Don't quite have the strength in me to resist it,
You wear it like a skin
This impatience burns within
You've lit the fires well
Time waits for no man
You think you're getting in
You've invested everything
Your patience knows not how
Time waits for no man nor me,
Baby, time waits for no man nor me
Your reach has grown long
Lines are stretched and skin is drawn
you never could see why
time waits for no man
With skin no longer thin
Become accustomed to the din
Of those you've stood upon
Time waits for no man.
Time waits for no man
Waits for no man, baby
Time waits for no man
Waits for no man, nor me.
Salvation lurks within
If you could hold it in your hand
But you're a leper now
Time waits for no man
You wear it like a skin
Disease has taken everything
You've learned your lessons well
Time waits for no man nor me, baby,
time waits for no man nor me, baby
And you turn your head and look right past me
As you do
It seems impossible to me to ignore melody
As you do, as you do
As you walk on past you seem to hesitate but you don't respond to my smile
and you cut my heart in ribbons round me
As you do
And when you forget my name tomorrow
As you do
You have no idea how much you cause me sorrow
As you do, as you do
As this moment passes you will regret it always, in the dark of your mind
And you turn your head and look right past me
As you do
Ooh... I'm enamoured of you
Ooh... My condition is chronic
Ooh... I'm enamoured of you
Ooh... My condition is chronic
Oooohh...(x2)
Ooh... I'm enamoured of you
Ooh... My condition is chronic
Ooh... I'm enamoured of you
Ooh... My condition is chronic
Oooohh...
Ooh... I'm enamoured of you
Ooh... My condition is chronic
Ooh... I'm enamoured of you
Release me
Release me
I've got the strangest feeling that I've seen all this before
It all looks so familiar as I'm walking to the door
And I've got the weirdest feeling that I've walked this path before
It's becoming more familiar but I cannot quite be sure
It's a definite sensation that I've done all this before
And I'm feeling most peculiar still I'm coming back for more
I begin to see the light as I go crashing to the floor
I must be blind
I had the strange sensation all I had to do was ask
I won't give in to temptation I will fight it to the last
Though the walls look quite unstable still I'm sure this thing will pass
I will not admit confusion as I have done in the past
I must be blind
I recognize this situation now I know it all too well
It's true that I've been up here and it's true that I once fell
I won't give in so easy I will fight it to the last
I have been sucked into the game plan as I have done in the past
I must be blind
You'd like to know you'd like to know you'd like to know you
You'd like to say you like to say you like to say you
You like to think you like to think you like to think you
You'd like to know you'd like to know you'd like to know
Who do you think you're fooling
You're number one, number one
My number one
You're on your own you're on your own you're on your own you
You're pulling through you're pulling through you're pulling through you
You think you can you think you can you think you can you
In solitary devilment
We find solace, but bring me hearts content
With masochistic tendencies
Put on my lipstick,
Deliver me...
Deliver me
With predatory resonance
Regularly begin this dark descent
With realistic urgency
We dance ballistic,
Deliver me...
Deliver me
Cast off monastic liveries
Although weary greedily relent
In light fantastic lay me down
I can't resist it
You know it,
You know it
And you like it that way
You know it
You know it.
You follow her down
Whenever she's around
And you cling to the safety
Of her shelter
This house is not a home
But your need for her has grown
It's a leash but you like it
Come to need it.
(You know it?
She kicks you when you're down,
But still you hang around
There's a strange kind of longing
Ties you to her.
For her sake you're on your knees
You'll do anything to please
It's no life but you'll live it,
I don't want deception, had enough of that before
And I don't need protection, I'll find my own way around
But thank you so much for your concern,
You live, you breathe and I'll learn.
Surrender the game
Your tactics are known
Just surrender the game
You big pretender, you big pretender.
Your charming smile is bloodless
I can handle this and more, fast as you dream pretences
I'll bring them crumbling down
But thank you so much for your concern
You fake you scheme and I'll learn
(Surrender the game...)
My weapon is leveled and set to fade
and while I scan the surroundings it's set to fade
let this serve as your warning, your game is played out
I'll just, I'll just fade you out.
Now I have turned the tables, failure never tasted sweet
The pride that's yours to swallow will choke you in defeat
But thank you so much for your concern
