Learn how to set up 3Play Media's integration with the Brightcove video platform. Plain Text Transcript: This video demonstrates how to set up 3Play Media's integration with Brightcove as well as the automatic workflow to create captions and subtitles for your Brightcove videos. The integration allows you to transfer your media files directly from your Brightcove account to your 3Play Media account for processing. After your files have been processed, the captions can be automatically sent back to your Brightcove account. First, you will want to create the ability to have captions added to your video files. To do this, you will need to create and configure a Brightcove player to host your captions. Log into your Brightcove account and click on Account Settings. Select the Video Fields tab. And click Add Custom Fields. You can call the display name anything you'd like. But make sure that the internal name is dfxppath. Then click Save. Next, click on the publishing icon. On the bottom of the screen, click on New Player. From the template dropdown menu, select the Brightcove player that best supports your video's needs. Note that all of the Brightcove players support closed captions. But if you want your audience to have the ability to turn captions on and off, select the Accessible Video Player. Assign this player a name. And click Create Player. Select the new player you just created from the list of players. Below the list, click the Settings icon. On the Global tab of the Edit Settings menu, check the box Enable ActionScript/JavaScript APIs. Next, click on the Plug-Ins tab on the Edit Settings menu. Add the following URL in the custom plug-ins field. This URL can be copied from the Brightcove Integration forum on the 3Play Media support site. After copying this URL, paste it here and click Add. Then click Save Changes. Now your Brightcove player will have the ability to display captions. Next, you must link your 3Play Media account with your Brightcove account. This is a one-time process. To do this, click the Home icon. Next, click Account Settings and then API Management. Locate the row with the Read token and URL Access. Under the Manage tab, click the middle icon to copy this token to your clipboard. Keep this browser page open, as you will need to refer back to it shortly. Open a new browser page and login to your 3Play Media account. Click the Upload tab and then Upload From Linked Accounts. Select the Brightcove tab and paste your Read token with URL Access in the designated field. Go back to the Brightcove page, copy the Write token, and add it to the designated field on the Upload Credentials page. In the Name field, you can enter anything-- for example, Brightcove Demo. Check the boxes next to Postback Data and Tag Based Auto Upload if you intend to use the automatic captioning workflow. By enabling Tag Based Auto Upload, you will be able to add tags to your videos in your Brightcove account. Once tagged, they will automatically be uploaded to 3Play Media for processing. This will be demonstrated shortly. By enabling the Postback Data feature, 3Play Media will automatically add the captions to the videos in your Brightcove account when they're completed. Once all of the information is entered, click Save. Now that your accounts are linked, you should be able to see your Brightcove videos. You can begin uploading by selecting the videos that need to be processed and clicking the Upload button. This will prompt you to choose the turnaround time and destination folder. Then click the Upload button to begin processing. Now let's look at the Tag Based Auto Upload feature. Go back to your Brightcove account and click on the Media icon to view your list of videos. Select the videos you want to upload to 3Play Media. You can select multiple videos by holding the Command or Control key. If the files are grouped together, select the first file, hold the Shift key, and then select the last file to highlight the group. Click the Edit button in the tag section and a popup menu will appear. By default, the box named Tags should be checked. Under Add Additional Tags, add the tag 3play for standard turnaround, which is four business days. For rush turnaround, one business day, add two separate tags-- 3play and 3play_one_day. Be sure to separate your tags with a comma. Note that when you highlight a group of videos and add one or more 3Play tags, those tags will apply to all the selected videos. After you add the tags, click Save Changes. And the video files will then upload to 3Play Media for processing. Once a file has been uploaded, the tags will be removed and the new tag, 3play_processed, will be added. You will also receive an email confirmation that the files were successfully uploaded. Since the Postback Data feature was enabled when you linked your accounts, your captions, when complete, will be added automatically to the corresponding videos. http://www.3playmedia.com
