The following is a list of characters that first appeared in the Australian soap opera Home and Away in 2011, by order of first appearance. All characters are introduced by the shows series producer Cameron Welsh. The 24th season of Home and Away began airing on 24 January 2011. The following month, the Braxton brothers; Darryl, Heath and Casey were introduced. Miranda Jacobs and Kieran Monroe made their debuts in April. Marty Jones made his debut in June and Tegan Callahan arrived the following month. August saw the introductions of Harvey Ryan, Hammer and Sasha Bezmel. Shane Emmett made his debut as Mark in September and lawyer Hayley O'Connor began appearing from October.

Darryl "Brax" Braxton, played by Steve Peacocke, made his first on-screen appearance on 16 February 2011. Darryl is the oldest of three brothers known as the The River Boys, a "bad-boy surf gang with dodgy reputations."The Daily Telegraph said that Darryl is a "beach bum" who has an "awesome" reputation as a surfer. They also reported that Darryl is set to get to know Charlie Buckton (Esther Anderson).

Charlotte "Charlie" Buckton is a fictional character from the Australian Channel Seven soap opera Home and Away, played by Esther Anderson. Anderson was added to the cast in a bid to add more "sex appeal" to the show. She said it was her dream job and relocated to Sydney immediately to accommodate filming. The character made her on-screen debut during the episode airing on 6 June 2008. Charlie was billed as having a "warm heart" and being "family oriented", however her actions are often misunderstood and her persona has been perceived as "brash". She is described as being "passionate about her work" and often neglects her daughter, Ruby's (Rebecca Breeds) needs. Charlie's first notable storyline was a lesbian relationship with Joey Collins (Kate Bell). The storyline was implemented by producers to boost ratings and Anderson said it helped portray Charlie's vulnerable side. The storyline angered Christian and conservative oriented family groups. They complained that Home and Away had featured sexualised plot lines unsuitable for children, and Channel Seven was inundated with parental complaints stating that children should not be exposed to same-sex relationships in a family show. Viewership declined after transmission of the storyline and producers cut scenes to attune to viewers wishes, which outraged the LGBT community. The storyline came to a natural end and Anderson and executive producer Cameron Welsh praised the plot because it portrayed a real-life situation and denounced the conservative views as outdated. Anderson stated that the storyline was a great one to portray in terms of acting.

Carla Connor (née Donovan; previously Gordon) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera Coronation Street, a long-running serial drama about working class life in the fictional town of Weatherfield. She is portrayed by the actress Alison King. Carla was created by producer Steve Frost as part of the new Connor family. She made her first on-screen appearance on 1 December 2006. King left the show temporarily on 6 February 2009 for maternity leave and returned for five episodes between 19 and 23 October 2009. She made her full-time return on 23 November 2009.

Carla's storylines have focused on her relationships with brother-in-law Liam Connor and Tony Gordon, with the latter producing a wedding following Liam's death. Other notable storylines have included the breakdown of two marriages, being the victim of an attempted murder and battling alcoholism. In late 2011, Carla is raped by her fiance Frank Foster. Carla is supported by her friend Maria Connor as she seeks a conviction. She also experiences an affair with Peter Barlow, which later turns into an relationship. In March 2012, it was announced that Carla's estranged brother was being cast. Carla is portrayed as a strong, no-nonsense businesswoman. She has been referred to as "the new Elsie Tanner", and one of the serial's most popular characters, with critics often praising her appearance and storylines. Carla will take a four month break with Peter Barlow. They are due to make their departure in July.
